Anyone passing by would see Miroku’s face as one of perfect serenity. Only the way his hands fidgeted with the edge of his ceremonial robes. It was normally so easy for him to get his emotions under control. It seemed that wasn’t going to happen today.
Anxiety and excitement both were doing odd things to his stomach.
The excitement was easy enough to handle. He’d been waiting for this day for the longest time. He’d barely even gotten sleep the night before thinking of the end result of this day. The day he and Sango would finally be united.
The anxiety was a bit harder to handle. So many things could go wrong this day, even later in life. What if Sango changed her mind? What if she decided that his antics were more of a nuisance than an endearment?
Then there was the thought that some of the people he loved most could not be with him today. Kagome of course was always in his thoughts. It saddened him to think that the person who cheered the most for their relationship would not be there to see the wedding. His late father would not be there either…Perhaps he was watching from the after life…
Then there was Sango’s family. He’d heard so much about her father and the other members of the village from Sango. No matter how much she might try to hide it, he knew she wished they could be there greatly.
The ruffle from the curtain alerted Miroku that his beloved was finally finished getting prepared.
He smiled softly when she emerged from the hut. He leaned in close to her ear and whispered “You look beautiful”
A loud cough from the older miko made him straighten again. He gave Kaede a shrug and a careless smile. “Shall we be on our way then? Everybody is waiting for us to get started.”

She blushed at the sight of him and than his wards of endearment had butterflies flutter in her stomach. How she loved this man so much. For years she had tried to deny her feelings for the hentai houshi. At the beginning it hadn't been so hard seeing that she truly didn't like Miroku. As they traveled her feelings grew and it became hard to seem aloof when around him. Sango had felt so happy when he proposed; now the only regret she had was the fact that her best friend Kagome would not be there to attend the celebration.
“Shall we be on our way then? Everybody is waiting for us to get started.”
The taijiya looked up at the houshi with teary, brown eyes and nodded. Giving him a wet smile she said, "We shall."
"No. I got better things to do than clean up useless garbage."
She sighed and pulled out a piece of chopped up demon out of her hair. "And what would that be, Hm?" She grumbled.

"And my work in this village is done— I’m outta here."
"Inuyasha! Aren't you going to help with clean up?!"
☾— ”The way you present yourself says otherwise.” Sesshoumaru shot out the insult before nodding his head in the direction of the path behind her. “Why are you alone and not clung to the side to the pathetic half-breed?”
She glared at the daiyoukai and refused to reply. Sango sighed and drew back her anger. It was no use to argue with a demon that could kill her with the flick of his wrist. "A near by village had a problem with a bear demon. . . Inuyasha refused to go so I decided to go alone."

The expression was subtle, but he could see that she was surprised by his question. Why? Hadn’t she brought him up herself? Or had she been expecting to be ignored, or maybe even yelled at. In her line of work, he supposed that happened fairly often. For all the bad he’d experienced here, he wasn’t an angry person.
He was indeed feeling angry right now, there was no denying that, but he knew it would not help his situation to act so. Now that he thought about it, perhaps it was in his best interest to continue being cordial with the woman. She didn’t seem inclined to hurting him… This conversation was evident enough of that.
"He sounds like an impressive young man," he said honestly. And a terribly lonely one. A man after his own heart it would seem, pervertedness aside. "Even if he cannot make friends his own age," he continued-his voice still rough sounding from the lack of use and abuse. "He is lucky to have a sister that cares so for him."

Sango made a show of biting her lip, looking bashful. It was not hard to look so bashful seeing that she really did feel embarrassed at his comment. She did not take complements well, it did not matter if it came from a friend or a murderer. Just because she blushed at being praised did not mean she would falter; she had a job to do and that job consisted on getting information on a mob boss. She sighed and looked to his half finished meal.
"I wish I could just. . . show you to the door." She offered him a sheepish look. "However, I have rules I have to abide to. Things like what heppened last week. . . will keep happening and there is nothing I can do to stop it." she said, her brown eyes reflected how 'sorry' she was. "The only way to make them let you go is if you tell them what they want to hear--"
Death only has one card to play. Life is much more terrifying, in my opinion. It has a full deck.
