The video above was recorded in 2016, that was almost an entire 3 years ago. Since then we know that CL’s movement and her entire situation has been crazy. I have an idea of the way CL thinks, she always wants to portray positivity..she doesn’t like having to talk about or express how she feels to the public when something goes wrong. As we know from her many on and off hiatuses, she goes completely quiet. Sometimes she’ll update from week to week, month to month. However the period of time now has surely been the longest. The fact of 2NE1’s ‘disbandment’ left her to be a soloist without a choice, she had to push back and cancel time on her American Debut prior to that in order to save the group. She was lied to and YG went ahead and got rid of the group anyway. Imagine the frustration….imagine the confusion and pain from being cheated and wasting precious amounts of time. That would certainly be enough to mentally damage someone…as we know from all of the girls perspective of the situation, A little piece of them each died that day….This time last year CL was selected by the South Korean Government representatives to perform at the Pyeongchang Olympics ~ that was a huge moment for her as a solo artist that hasn’t been active in years. From 2016 onwards CL would book different gigs by herself just so she could keep her momentum, trying to stay connected with her fans and the very little songs she had (Even performing 2NE1 songs) Her final gig/event before hiatus was Hyperplay in August last year. In her interview with Time Magazine (Above ^^) she talks about that one goal she always had…that she wishes to help represent the Asian women in both her country/continents and the Western world. I’m afraid that goal cannot have the same impact now as it did then…I mean she can still contribute to the idea but…as years go on, it’s like a race…many have already begun to mark her words. [credit] She deserved so much better then, all members did. They still do. I hope she can achieve her goals because I know she still can.
