Mudclaw - Mahmud Khan
The love of my life Mudclaw is finally done. Iāve been putting him off for so long because I wanted to make sure he was perfect. Admittedly, heās two or three different existing charactersā designs combined into one. Choosing his name was a fun coincidence of me already knowing what name I wanted for him but looking at spelling variations and stumbling across one with āmudā in it. This man is not photogenic as heās always scowling some way or another.
Mahmud is very quick to pick skills up but because of this gets bored extremely easily. Heās dropped out of at least two university degrees (history and psychology) due to deciding preemptively heās learnt all there is to know and is smarter than the professors. He can do statistics and probabilities in his head. Just like his degrees, he picks up and abandons hobbies quickly. Even though he prefers hands on hobbies, the only one thatās managed to stick is the less hands on collecting of memorabilia and artifacts. He also loves classic rock.

I would definitely research more before before posting these. You liking mudclaw doesnāt mean itās not bad, and I wasnāt arguing that Onewhisker isnāt more redeemable. I was saying that in the canon text, he was an antagonist who tried to overthrow Onestar (who was shown to be good at the time). It was a mistake but itās still very damaging and hurtful, even if it was well-intentioned. Thank you for apologizing.
thank you to both anons for pointing this out and to my friends who explained things to me in further detail. i appreciate being informed about when ive made a bad choice so i can fix it as soon as possible and avoid it in the future. iām a white australian, so i often miss some of the real world implications of my actions and researching facts online isnāt a substitute for discussing or reading up on lived experiences. i will try and vary the sources of my research in the future so i can do better.
i agree with other anon. it is really iffy and uncomfortable how mudclaw fits into middle eastern stereotypes and wears a head covering while onewhisker doesnāt and in the books mudclaw sides with villains and dies after an attempt of overthrowing onewhisker
i understand your concerns and will be doing what i can to write out any stereotypes that iāve included due to any unconscious associations or lack of awareness with informed consultation. all of these characters are fully fleshed out and i have put a lot of research into making them feel real and accurate. nothing i include is ever intended to be a two dimensional trope slapped on for a certain effect.
who does and doesnāt have a head covering so far is mostly due to order of posting designs. there are designs on my main blog of other windclan characters with head coverings (tallstar and tornear for example), as well as other antagonistic characters who donāt have it (crowfeather and onewhisker himself). i feel that comparing mudclaw to onewhisker in terms of morality is tricky in itself as both are antagonistic, and mudclaw has far more redeeming traits.
i believe that so far iāve been very sparse with explaining the world building, context, and other characters which has lead to characters seeming trope-y. iāve been advised that going into more detail more often will help with portraying characters more suitably with background context, as opposed to my current dot point method of first 3 traits i recall. the current posts were intended to be references only and donāt go into enough detail on the distinctions between canon and the au.
youre not. serious with ur mudclaw human being middle eastern with his characteristics being "can fly a plane" and "gambles" right? why is that the most notable things about him? like you are aware of the real stereotypes out there and how making the character who tried to overthrow and kill his leader in canon middle eastern plays into real world stereotypes? im sure u meant well with it but im not sure if it comes off this way. im a little baffled by it
genuinely was not aware of the gambling thing being a stereotype, thank you for the heads up. my intention there was to highlight his maths/statistics skills but that was clearly the wrong way to do that.
as for flying a plane, this was intended to be a common windclan trait as wind=sky and them having connections to the airport and being able to block flights could be analogous to windclan restricting bluestar from visiting the moonstone in books.
iāll edit the post as soon as iām able to and change the gambling point, and it will no longer be a part of his character. i will have a discussion with some of my peers who are middle eastern on how to proceed with the planes point clan-wise and character-wise, and would appreciate any input.

Long time no design but I was in the mood for one so hereās Barley! Human name is just Barley still, unsure about surname. Those rustic clothes are more of a fashion statement than a career based one. Since Highstones is actually just some snowy mountains that the clans go on trips to, and Barley needed to be a character they encountered on the way there, he works there! Another character whoās greying early due to the many stressors in his life.
Bonus cursed alternate version under cut
i saw this post and immediately had to draw it as @warriorhumansā onewhisker and mudclaw
Probably not part of the official set of designs by any stretch but I had a strong vision of what heād look like and needed to get him out of my brain.
Shirtless version under cut
girlboss leafstar and malewife billystorm
Does Deacon still kill Rosetail? Because it'd be stupid and funny if that twerp somehow managed to shank (stab) someone ,he doesnt seem like a guy to kill on purpose,so if he was responsible for her death, was it by accident?
ah geez - deacon upon killing rosetail
Is the first one ravenpaw??
yesss my friends said he needed to look like aĀ āwinter fuckboyā so i tried to acheive whatever that is
The the first one stormfur?
nope i havent designed stormfur before
graystripe and uh... leopardfur/star??
leopardstar is right! and youāre close with graystripe but not quite
duo of human warriors designs i attempted to do today but are completely unusable for their original intended purpose.
any guesses on who they are? first is a redesign / aged up version of an old design, and second is completely new.
Wait does that mean he panicked when he killed redtail?
no because he was in control of that situation and had calculated what the potential outcomes would be. itās more of aĀ ācringing when someone stubs their toeā reaction than canāt inflict pain on others.Ā
two mini sketch comics based off of year-long inside jokes about this old image of kuwat catching the snakeĀ
1. kuwats pockets are full of dirt and/or loose trail mix that sud packed him
2. sudās immediate response to anyone in (accidental) danger is Panic because heās got that naturally high empathy but then realises after heās missed a chance
