Two Looks, One Difference
Rayna was on her way to Maddyâs Hair Saloon. Not only was she there to provide her service, but she was also hoping that Maddy could do something about her hair. Itâs not that she didnât love her hair, she just wanted to try a new look and see if she liked it. If not, then sheâd go back to her regular look. She made it to the saloon and knocked on the door.
A light-blue skinned Troll with a dark blue nose and hair with a unique style, wearing a white dress with a pink belt attached with styling tools answered it.
âHello. Can I help you?â the Troll asked.
âUmâŠhi. Iâm here to volunteer at the Saloon. Are you Maddy?â Rayna asked.
âYes, thatâs me. Youâre my volunteer?â Maddy confirmed, then asked.
âYes. My name is Rayna. IâmâŠRaineâs twin sister,â Rayna introduced herself, hoping she wouldnât be judged based on her looks.
âWelcome,â Maddy smiled.
She invited Rayna inside the Saloon. Rayna was surprised to see so many Pop Trolls inside waiting to get their hair done. When they saw her, they were surprised and just stared at her. It made Rayna very uncomfortable. Maddy noticed this and tried to distract her by asking questions.
âTell me, Rayna. Do you have any skills with scissors or hair?â she asked.
âUmâŠnot really. Although my sister Barb did something to a Rock Trollâs hair with a chainsaw once. By accident of course,â Rayna answered softly, not wanting the Pop Trolls to hear that.
Unfortunately, her voice wasnât quiet enough as the Pop Trolls heard her and showed looks of horror on their face. They couldnât imagine that happening to their own hair.
âOkay? Well, Iâm going to assume that chainsaws are scissors in your kingdom,â Maddy guessed.
âVolcano Rock City,â Rayna corrected.
âRight. Sorry,â Maddy apologized.
âLook, can you tell me what services youâd like me to do for you?â Rayna asked.
âOh. Of course. Well, I suppose you can start with restocking the magazines, make sure the Trolls are comfortable while I put on the hair styling capes, and sweep up any hair thatâs been cut,â Maddy decided.
Rayna nodded in understanding then started getting to work.
The Pop Trolls let out sighs of relief. They were glad that Maddy wasnât going to let her cut their hair. However, that didnât go unnoticed by either Rayna or Maddy.
Rayna rarely said anything, even though she was doing an excellent job. One of the main reasons was because of Satin and Chenille. They were frequent customers and always gave Rayna a hard time due to her being part Rock, not believing that she and Raine were twins. Rayna tried to ignore them, but it was hard because their words, gossip, or insults hurt her. At least she wasnât conjoined with her sister like they were, which sheâd been wanting to say to them since her 1st encounter with them, but kept restraining herself due to her temper.
While sweeping the hair up, Rayna thought maybe she could practice cutting it by using a spare pair of scissors that wasnât being used. So while Maddy was busy, Rayna snuck towards one of the empty stations and grabbed a pair of scissors. She looked at them and tried to figure out how they worked. She turned around and watched Maddy from afar cut one of her customerâs hair. The first thing she noticed was that the holes in the scissors were where she had her a couple of her fingers in. So she did the same thing and moved them up, which caused the blades to open and surprise her. When she moved her fingers down, the blades closed. Once she understood how that worked, she held them out and pretended she was cutting the air as practice. It was new to her, but she managed to get it down.
Once she was able to handle that, she decided to try it with hair. So she grabbed a small clump of it that sheâd swept and carefully cut a piece off slowly with the scissors. To her surprise, it wasâŠeasy as she watched the cut piece fall to the floor. She stared at the scissors in curiosity, finding them more useful and easy than a chainsaw. Unfortunately, her self-taught lesson got interrupted by a scream, which caused her to flinch and drop the scissors.
âMaddy! The Rock Troll is cutting hair!â Satin called out.
âSheâll ruin our looks! Everybody, run away!â Chenille shouted.
Soon the Pop Trolls were getting out of these seats and running out of the saloon in a panic.
âNo, wait! Itâs not like that! I was onlyâŠâ Rayna tried to explain.
None of the Trolls would listen. Soon the saloon was empty, except for Rayna, Maddy, Satin, and Chenille.
âWhatâs your problem?!â Rayna exclaimed to the conjoined sisters in anger.
âYou were cutting hair!â Satin pointed out.
âYouâre not supposed to do that, let alone use scissors!â Chenille added.
âI was just trying to figure out how they worked without scaring anyone!â Rayna argued.
âSave it! This is what happens when you leave a Rock Troll unattended with someoneâs hair!â Chenille argued back.
âYouâre a menace! No wonder you abandoned your sister!â Satin added.
Rayna felt like sheâd been stabbed in the heart. She knew that wasnât true, but the twinsâ words hurt her deeply. As if that wasnât hurtful enough, Satin and Chenille pushed her down to the floor. Even worse, she was holding the scissors when she fell and one of the blades cut her arm.
Maddy was furious and decided that enough was enough.
âSatin, Chenille, that was uncalled for! You will turn around and leave my saloon because I never want to see your 2 faces again until you show more respect for others!â she stated.
Satin and Chenille were offended, but they huffed in anger and left the saloon, acting like spoiled brats from the popular group.
Maddy shut the door to her saloon then focused her attention back to Rayna, who was still lying on the floor.
âRayna, are you all right?â she asked.
Rayna nodded. Physically, she was sore from the push and cut. But emotionally she was hurt.
Maddy was worried about her since she was so quiet. So she decided to write a message to Raynaâs sister and had a flying critter send it. Afterwards, she brought out a small first-aid kit and treated Raynaâs cut using some antiseptic wound cleaning spray then put a band-aid on it.
âI sent a message to your sister. She should be on her way to take you home,â she explained to her.
Rayna nodded again, then handed Maddy back the scissors she used. Maddy took them back, but also showed her how to return them correctly so she didnât accidentally get someone hurt. She then helped her get up and led her to one of her stations. The moment Rayna looked at her sad reflection in the mirror, she covered her face with her hands and started to cry. Rock Trolls didnât cry, they got angry, growled while gritting their teeth, broke stuff, or sprayed something edible in their mouth until they felt better. Bottom line: they toughened themselves up. But Raynaâs origin was Pop and try as she might, she just couldnât do it like the Rock Trolls did. It was hard for her to fit in or be accepted from either Tribe. She was really glad she had her twin sister and her other sisters who loved all of her, no matter what her origin was. But sometimes it felt like it wasnât enoughâŠ
Maddy hated to see her upset. She wished there was something she could do to help her while waiting for her sister to pick her up. She looked at her belt of hair styling tools around her waist and got an idea. Since she had her saloon, Trolls always seemed to leave with a smile on her face after she styled their hair. Whether it was for an event like the Hair Ball or just simply needing a trim, Trolls were happy. Maybe she could do the same for Rayna.
However, her hairstyle had to be somethingâŠspecial. Something that reflected both parts of her between Pop and Rock. It took some time to think, but Maddy soon came up with a hairstyle.
First, she removed the band from her hair. Next she sectioned off Raynaâs bangs then gathered the rest of her hair into a mid-to-high ponytail and secured it with a new band. She returned to Raynaâs bangs and began teasing it with her brush, smoothing it out and making it into a small braid then sealing it with a non-slip bobby pin. Once it was sealed in place, she teased the rest of her hair and smoothed it out while giving it some volume by using her hairspray.
Soon Maddyâs work was complete. However, Rayna still had her face buried in her hands, too upset to look. Before she could say anything, there was a knock at the door. She opened it and saw Raine holding the message in her hand. Lana was with her too.
âThank you for coming, Raine. Iâm surprised your other sister is here too,â she noticed.
âWhatever hurts us affects her,â Raine explained.
âWhere is she?â Lana asked, signing.
Maddy raised an eyebrow in confusion, not understanding Lanaâs communication.
âSheâs asking in sign language where Rayna is,â Raine informed her while translating.
âOh. Sheâs at one of my stations. But she hasnât said anything since the âincident,ââ Maddy answered.
That was enough for the girls to be concerned. So Maddy let them in and brought them to their sister. The first thing they noticed was not only Raynaâs upset state but also her new hairstyle.
âDid you do something to my sisterâs hair?â Raine asked.
âYes. I thought I could try and cheer her up by styling it with a unique Rock look,â Maddy answered while explaining.
âI love it!â Raine exclaimed in joy.
She rushed over to get a closer look. Lana rolled her eyes smiling as she made her way over to try and get Raynaâs attention. She gently placed one of her hands on her lap and Rayna quickly lifted her head up recognizing that gentle touch anywhere. Lana gave her a sympathetic smile.
âWeâre here, sis,â Raine assured her on the opposite side of Lana.
They helped her get down from the chair and draped an arm over her on each side. Raynaâs eyes were red from crying, but no one brought that up. Maddy helped them get the door and saw them out.
Lana silently thanked her by nodding.
âThank you for taking care of my sister,â Raine said sweetly.
Maddy smiled at her.
âYouâre welcome. I hope sheâll like her new look,â she replied.
The girls nodded, believing that Rayna will once she snaps out of it.
Maddy waved good-bye to them and they waved back until they were out of sight.
The walk to their home was quiet. Neither of them said a word, too concerned about their sister. Although Raine was furious to learn from Maddyâs message that Satin and Chenille had bullied her twinâŠagain. She wanted to pound them, slaps, kicks, the whole shebang. But Lana told her that she must not. Violence never was the answer, only used as a last resort when it came to the girls regarding survival.
Soon the girls made it to their pod. It was quiet inside. The rest of the girls were in their rooms either doing their own thing or sleeping.
âRaine, take your sister to your room. Iâll be there in a minute,â Lana instructed.
âOkay. This way, sis,â Raine replied, then focused on her sister.
Lana went to the kitchen and began making some cocoa. She made sure Raynaâs cocoa was dark chocolate as that was the way she liked it. With Raine, she liked hers the same as Alaraâs, extra marshmallows. Lana added some marshmallows to her own then set the mugs on a tray and carried it to Raineâs room.
Inside, Rayna was sitting on her sisterâs bed being comforted by her twin. Raine helped Lana with the tray of cocoa by taking the mugs off it one at a time. She handed the mug of âdark cocoa,â as she put it, to her sister and Rayna took it.
The girls made themselves comfortable while carefully enjoying their warm drink. When Rayna finished half of it, she was ready to talk.
âSatin and Chenille insulted me regarding my relationship with my twin⊠They also said I was a menace and that I abandoned her,â she started, trickling tears as she spoke.
Lana sighed.
âYou know thatâs not true, sis,â Raine pointed out to her.
Lana dried Raynaâs tears by rubbing her thumb gently against her cheek.
âI-I donât know, girls. It seems Iâm too complicated to live in either tribe. SoâŠIâm not a Rock Troll. Iâm not a Pop Troll⊠Iâm a nothingâŠâ Rayna replied softly.
âStop it! If neither Troll tribe can accept you, then they donât deserve you!â Lana said gently but firmly.
Rayna looked at her surprised.
âI love you, sis, whether youâre Pop or Rock or both,â Raine said, hugging her arm.
Rayna gave her twin a one-armed side hug.
âI love you too,â she said softly.
âRemember that youâre surrounded by family who love you. Youâre not alone, Rayna,â Lana added.
Rayna smiled a little, knowing that her sister was right.
âThank you, Lana,â she said.
âOh, hey, Rayna. Youâve gotta see what Maddy did to your hair!â Raine remembered and got off her bed to grab her mirror.
âMy hair?â Rayna wondered.
Raine handed Rayna her mirror. This time, when she saw her reflection, she gasped. Her hair looked soâŠdifferent but she looked like a rockstar. She lightly touched her hair to make sure she wasnât dreaming. When her hair didnât change, Rayna trickled tears again but out of joy this time. She loved it.
Lana and Raine gave her a hug, which made her feel better as she returned it to both of them. The girls finished up their cocoa and Lana left to wash their mugs but also give the twins some privacy.
Raine had her sister lie down in her bed so she could snuggle with her. Rayna smiled at her sister and began petting the top of her head. They stayed like that for hours, not saying anything, just enjoying each otherâs company. When Lana returned to check on them, the twins were asleep. She smiled and tucked them in while gently rubbing the top of their heads. She then left the room so they could rest.
When Lana went into her room, the first thing she did was write thank you notes to Plum, Milton, and Maddy. They were the only Trolls in the village who treated her and her sisters with kindness and no judgment throughout their services. Once she finished them, she had a critter send each one of them to their pods. Hopefully, theyâll get them by morning. As she started to go back inside, a blue flower fell off a tree and was heading towards her. She lightly caught it in her hand and looked around, but there was nothing there.
Lana lied down in her bed while holding the blue flower in her hands. She thought about John Dory since his Hug Time Bracelet was blue. It really worried her as it felt like time was running out. She held the delicate flower close to her heart and hoped that Branch, Poppy, and Rhonda werenât too late to save himâŠâŠ.
Author's Note: Meant to post this yesterday, but I was too exhausted from making my sister's @fairymagicheart1 birthday present. This is it. The last story of my series outside of @rydoesartandstuff "Great Decisions." I got a little emotional while writing this, especially when it came to the ending. Probably won't be writing another story till the Recovery Arc. Anyway, this last story focuses on Rayna's service in Pop Village. That's all 6. Till next time......

Petting N' Vetting
Raine was making her way through the Village to the Veterinary Clinic. Finding a service that was good for her was tricky. But then she found one from the Pet Nâ Vet. If there was something that Raine loved, it was animals. Or rather, those that actually lived in the Village amongst the Trolls. Of course, she was excited but she was also a bit nervous. Seeing critters was one thing, but it was another to actually pet or interact with them.
Lucky for her, she was in good hands. The owner of the Pet Nâ Vet was a very friendly and gentle Troll. He had violet, light tan hair, and a blueish-purple nose that looked somewhat close to a violet color. He also wore a yellow shirt and brown pants that was covered up by a white doctorâs coat. He was waiting outside until he saw her coming.
âOh, hello. You must be my new volunteer,â he greeted.
âHi,â Raine replied softly.
âIâm so sorry to hear about the rude gossip on your sisters from the villagers, but so happy youâre here to help me. Welcome, Iâm Dr. Milton Moss, the proud owner of this critter clinic,â Milton introduced himself, trying to make her feel welcome.
âI-Iâm Raine. Itâs nice to meet you, Dr. Moss,â Raine introduced herself shyly.
Milton smiled at her but noticed that she looked nervous or scared.
âThereâs no need to be afraid. All the critters at my clinic are friendly. Iâll teach you everything you need to know,â he assured her.
Raine nodded in understanding then followed him inside the clinic.
The first thing Milton did was give Raine a doctorâs coat like his own since all volunteers were required to wear one when handling critters. He then showed her around the clinic.
âI have a lot of critters in my clinic that I either care for or keep around as pets,â he explained.
âSo all the critters live here in your clinic?â Raine wondered.
âWellâŠmaybe not all of them. Some of them are pets of other Trolls like that Glitter Worm of Biggieâs. UmâŠumâŠâ he struggled, trying to remember.
âMr. Dinkles?â Raine remembered.
âThatâs right,â Milton smiled.
âI can understand that, but what about the ones that arenât pets?â Raine asked.
âTheyâre wild but also strays. Most of the critters here were babies when I found them. I couldnât just abandon them, so I brought them to my clinic. Once I helped them get well, they decided to stay,â Milton explained.
âThatâs amazing,â Raine thought.
âThank you,â Milton smiled.
âSoâŠwhat kind of critters do you have?â Raine asked.
âIâll show you,â Milton said.
Soon he was showing her all the different critters throughout his clinic. The 1st he showed her looked like a crossover between a rabbit and a frog. Raineâs eyes lit up when she saw at least the rabbit parts of the critter.
âI take it you love rabbits?â Milton asked, smiling when he saw her eyes light up.
âYes! Theyâre so cute and cuddly, I just wanna hug one!â Raine exclaimed happily.
âHahaha. Well, this critter is sort of like a rabbit but also carries traits of a frog. Theyâre called Flopper Hoppers, soft and fluffy critters with floppy ears like a rabbit but hops and catches bugs like a frog. Theyâre friendly, but they have to stay away from water,â Milton informed her.
âBecause they canât swim?â Raine guessed.
âExactly, which would lead to them drowning,â Milton confirmed.
Suddenly, Raine was tackled down by a critter small and light blue with a tuft of pink hair on its head.
âOof!â she reacted when she fell.
âOh my goodness!â Milton exclaimed in surprise.
Before she could do anything else, the little critter began licking her face and she started laughing since it tickled. It then began cuddling her, almost similar to a hug.
Milton helped her get up while Raine held onto the critter, not wanting to scare it away.
âIâm so sorry. I hope that Cuddlepup didnât scare you. Theyâre so playful and very affectionate as you can see,â he apologized while explaining.
âYes, I can see. Itâs so cute! How could I be scared of such a cute little face like this?â Raine replied and started to pet it.
The Critterpup barked happy noises to her response and touch.
âWell, theyâre cute now. But when Cuddlepups become adults, they can be very dangerous and territorial, especially when protecting their babies,â Milton pointed out.
âWow. ThatâsâŠthatâs so sad,â Raine realized.
Milton nodded in agreement.
âShall we continue?â he asked.
Raine nodded.
The Cuddlepup tagged along during the tour as it followed Raine and Milton to the next critter.
âI donât know if your eldest sisterâŠLana, is it?â Milton asked.
Raine nodded in confirmation.
âOkay. I donât know if she is an animal Troll like you, but I think sheâd be fond of this one,â Milton continued while pointing to the next critter.
They were baby turtle-like creatures surrounded by a bigger version that was probably their mother.
âWhoa. What are they?â Raine wondered.
âTheyâre called Funphibians. One of the most rare and colorful critters in the Troll Kingdom,â Milton answered.
âWhat makes them rare?â Raine asked.
âA Funphibian, an adult at least, loves music. It judges the harmony of a Trollâs singing. If itâs good, and most importantly, in sync, itâll reward the Troll with a light a water show out of its shell. But if 1 wrong note is hit or the Trollâs not in sync, it leaves,â Milton explained.
âA creature that judges a Trollâs harmonyâŠ.â Raine noted in her mind, remembering something from Branch and Poppyâs mission regarding harmony.
âWow. SoâŠwhat about the babies?â Raine wondered.
âWell, they love music, but theyâre too young to judge the harmony,â Milton answered.
âTheyâre so beautiful,â Raine noticed.
âYes, they are, which is why I thought your sister would love these critters," Milton replied.
âI think she would. Iâll have to bring her here sometime,â Raine decided.
âThat would be nice,â Milton smiled.
Soon there was a noise, informing him of a patient arriving.
âOh! Thereâs a patient that needs help! Care to assist me?â Milton asked.
âMm-hmm,â Raine nodded in confirmation.
So the 2 of them made their way to the room with the Cuddlepup following them around, wagging its cute little tail. Raine was surprised to see that the patient was Mr. Dinkles and Biggie was with him. His pet Glitter Worm was a frequent patient.
âAh. Hello, Biggie. Another problem with sugar?â Milton greeted, then assumed.
âOh, hello, Doctor. Iâm afraid so. Mr. Dinkles and I got carried away with the cotton candyâŠagain. Now he canât squeak,â Biggie explained.
âHmm. Yes. Mr. Dinklesâs throat is very irritated from all of that sugar,â Milton noticed while checking Mr. Dinklesâs throat with a tongue depressor.
âHe should rest his voice for a few hours and drink plenty of water. That should help wash out the sugar and thin out the glitter thatâs irritating his vocal chords,â Raine suggested.
âBrilliant observation and suggestion, Raine!â Milton complimented.
Raine smiled.
âThank you,â Biggie said to her.
Raine nodded, smiling.
âRight then, come on, Mr. Dinkles. Letâs get you home so you can rest,â Biggie said.
Mr. Dinkles didnât squeak, but Biggie knew he understood him.
They left the clinic with Raine and Milton waving good-bye to them at the front. For the rest of the day, Raine did an excellent job helping and caring for the critters. She became great friends with the Cuddlepup as they played a lot together. She also befriended a Puffalo and Dust Bunny, which she found both so cute and fluffy. Milton laughed as he watched her bury herself in their soft fur and snuggle it.
When it came to closing time, Raine put her doctorâs coat back on the coat rack. Milton rewarded her with a tasty meal in a to-go box for a job well done and in case she got hungry. Raine was very grateful. The Cuddlepup whined as it was sad she was leaving.
âAww. Donât worry, little fella. Iâll come back and play with you soon. I promise,â Raine assured the critter while petting it.
The Cuddlepup nuzzled her and Raine hugged it back as they said good-bye. Milton smiled and then took the Cuddlepup from Raine as she held it out to him.
âIâll see you around, Raine. Thanks again,â he said.
âYouâre welcome, Dr. Moss,â Raine replied.
âPlease, call me Milton. The clinicâs closed for today,â Milton smiled.
âOkay, Milton. Iâll try to bring my sisters over someday so they can meet all of these cute critters,â Raine promised.
Milton nodded, smiling.
Raine began making her way back home while waving good-bye to Milton and her new Cuddlepup friend. Unbeknownst to her, a certain small yellow Troll with teal hair and a large pink bow saw them together and looked very angry. She decided that the next time she saw that Troll, she was gonna make her regret smitten with her love interest. However, what she didnât know was that Raine had done no such thing. So the situation that sheâd soon find herself in was a huge misunderstandingâŠâŠ.
Author's Note: 5th story of my series outside @rydoesartandstuff "Great Decisions." Once again, I had fun with this one, including the twist I came up with at the end. This one focuses on Raine's service in Pop Village. Only 1 left to go.
Bonus:
Now, I'm not a fan of "Trolls: The Beat Goes On" or "Trollstopia." But I gotta admit: a few of these critters like the Cuddlepup, Puffalo, and Dust Bunny are so cute! I'm not sure what the rest of them are though. Kind of wish they had a name or description for specifications.
A Trip Down Music Lane
Alara was in the Village on the way to her destination where some service was required. She walked along enjoying the view but also ignoring any gossip sheâd heard from other Trolls. When she got there, she saw DJ Suki comforting her Wooferbug and other creatures that served as part of her DJ set. There were also records scattered around. It looked like there was an accident. Alara had seen DJ Suki around the Village a lot. She was a close friend of Queen Poppy and pretty much handled all the music whenever the Trolls threw a party. DJ Suki had also seen Alara around the Village. Frankly because sheâd keep mistaking her for Poppy due to her being almost identical to the real Poppy. Not that Alara blamed her. She looked like she could be Poppyâs twin, except for their clothes along with hair and skin color.
Alara had idolized Poppy since she was a Trolling. Sometimes sheâd make herself a hat out of unique things and pretend that it was a crown and she was her while her âsubjectsâ were her toys. Poppy saw her doing that 1 time during a visit back when she was a young princess. It was cute and also a little flattering. She also loved her unique âcrownsâ and would sometimes play with her while giving her some advice on what a princess should do in a situation. King Peppy on the other hand, he didnât take it well. Although he didnât mind Poppy playing with her, he didnât want Alara to pretend to be a princess due to the Bergens. A cause of mistaken identity would risk either her or Poppy getting eaten. Alara never thought of that and ended up paying a huge price because of it. Her parents got eaten by Bergens during the escape of the Troll Tree.
King Peppy was furious and lashed out at her in anger. Poppy tried to stop her father, but the damage had already been done. Alara ran away, feeling nothing but hurt. She built herself a small house to her uniqueness up in the trees inside the forest. For years, she lived in solitude, thinking sheâd never see the Trolls again. That is, until she discovered that they built their new village not too far from where she lived in the forest.
Alara was afraid to return to the Village due to King Peppyâs outburst to her long ago. So she observed it from a distance. However, that didnât last long as she was spotted by Poppy, whoâd grown over the years and actually looked like a princess instead of a little kid. Alara feared that sheâd tell her father that she was alive, but instead she hugged her, happy to see that she was safe. Poppy brought her to the Village and had a pod made out of her uniqueness then gave her a unique hat she made herself as a pod-warming gift. That hat was the same one that Alara was wearing to this day. She never took it off, except when taking a shower or going to sleep.
Alara approached Suki and helped her comfort some of her DJ bug companions. Once they felt better, she began to ask her some questions.
âSuki, what happened here?â Alara asked.
âI fell asleep while listening to one of my records and my Wooferbug took a nasty spill because of it,â Suki answered.
âAgain?â Alara said.
âHey, you know Iâm not a morning Troll!â Suki pouted.
âOkay, okay. So whatâs the damage this time?â Alara apologized, then asked.
âWell, my Wooferbug twisted one of its legs, but he should be okay once heâs taken to Dr. Mossâs clinic. All my records are accounted for, but the album covers are missing. Iâm sure theyâre around here in this areaâŠsomewhere,â Suki answered.
âOkay. So they could be anywhere, from up in the trees to down in the lake,â Alara guessed while minding her surroundings.
âI hope none of the covers fell into the lake! Theyâre vintage!â Suki panicked.
âCalm down, Suki. From what Iâm seeing, youâve got 10 records here, which means we have to find 10 album covers,â Alara assured her.
âSpecifically, Iâve got 2 Pop, 2 Boyband, 2 K-Pop, 1 Techno, 1 Funk, 1 Country, and 1 Rock,â Suki pointed out.
âAll right. So weâll split up and find half of it on one side and find the other half on the other side,â Alara decided.
âOkay. But my Wooferbug and creatures must stay here since theyâre hurt,â Suki replied.
Alara nodded in agreement.
Once decisions were made, Alara went right while Suki went left. Finding some of the album covers was easy. One was stuck between some rocks, another was stuck up in a tree, and another was buried in some sand near the lake. Finding the others was like a needle in a haystack. Eventually, the 2 of them found all 10 album covers. Now, all they had to do was match them with the records and then organize them back into Sukiâs Wooferbug.
âAll right, Alara. Letâs start with you. What covers did you get?â Suki asked.
âIâve got Britney Sparkles, Justin Timber and Lakes, Huntrolx, The Trollja Boys, andâŠBrozone,â Alara answered softly on the last bit.
âYou okay?â Suki asked with concern.
âYeah. JustâŠworried about John Dory. I almost forgot about this albumâŠ. Do youâŠmind if I do this one last?â Alara answered, then asked softly.
Suki nodded, understanding why she was feeling like this.
âWhat about you? What album covers did you find?â Alara asked, trying to get back on the subject.
âI got One Trollection, Green Troll, Trolls & Dunn, Troll Punk, and Trolth, Trind, and Trie,â Suki answered.
âOkay. Thatâs all 10 covers. Now let's see if we can find the correct record,â Alara said.
Suki nodded in agreement and the 2 got to work. âLetâs see. Britney Sparkles and Justin Timber and Lakes are obviously Pop since the Center Labels are pink like the Pop String,â Alara noticed.
âOkay. Thatâs good. See if you can find a song title on the label,â Suki replied.
âLetâs see. âHug Me Baby, One More Time.â That goes in this one. And âTrollinâ Up My Heartâ goes in this one,â Alara read aloud while putting the records in the correct albums.
âWhat Makes You Trolltifulâ is definitely a boyband, so that goes in this one. And then this one goesâŠuhâŠuh-oh,â Suki thought while putting one of the records away.
âSomething wrong, Suki?â Alara wondered.
âI donât know where the rest of these go,â Suki confessed.
Alara came towards her pile and looked at the records.
âHmm,â she thought.
âAny ideas?â Suki asked.
âOne More Time⊠Daft Troll,â Alara read on the label. âSuki, didnât King Trollex have this when he came to Pop Village?â she asked.
âOh! Now I remember. I got this from the Troll Exchange Program when I went to the Techno Kingdom to study their culture! So thatâs where it was hiding: in plain sight!â Suki exclaimed happily.
She took the record and placed it in the right cover.
âAll right. Next we got âTrolltember⊠Trolth, Trind, and Trie,â Alara read.
âOh! I played that when King Peppy found this spot to rebuild our village after we escaped from the Bergens! Cooper really loved it for some reason,â Suki remembered, then placed the record in the correct album.
Alara didnât say anything about that. Frankly because she wasnât there at the time. She was living in her treehouse.
âOkay. The next one is âTrolliday⊠Green Troll,â Alara read.
âAh, yes! I remember now! Rayna gave me a copy of this one. Itâs her personal favorite,â Suki remembered, then placed it in the album.
âShe loves playing the chords on that song,â Alara added.
âYup,â Suki agreed.
Okay. Next one is âHoof Scootinâ Boogie⊠Trolls & Dunn,â Alara read.
âOh! Delta Dawn gave this to me. She recommended it if we ever decided to throwâŠsomething called a âhoedown.â Too bad Pop Trolls donât have hooves, but we do have lots of hoes for gardening,â Suki remembered.
âSukiâŠa hoedown is a dance party for Country Trolls,â Alara deadpanned.
âOh. Well, that sounds better than dancing with hoes,â Suki replied awkwardly.
Alara facepalmed herself before moving on to the next album.
âLast 2 are âTrollden⊠Huntrolx and âTrollda Pop⊠The Trollja Boys,â Alara read.
âBleck! K-Pop songs! Ick!â Suki exclaimed in disgust.
âHey, come on, Suki! Thatâs not nice!â Alara frowned.
âHmph! Thereâs no way thoseâŠshiny wannabe Trollsâ music is similar to our music,â Suki scoffed, crossing her arms.
âThose âshiny wannabe Trollsâ helped me in the search for John Dory. Iâve also listened to some of their music and itâs not that different from Pop. I like their music and I think the K-Pop Gang are a cool girl group,â Alara argued.
âThen why donât you keep them? Thereâs no way Iâm letting any of my creatures play K-Pop music! Barb was complaining that our music is like an earworm?! Well that âTrollda Popâ song is like an earworm to me! I listened to it 1 time and I. Canât. Get. It. Out. Of. My. Head!â Suki shouted while banging the sides of her head with her fists.
Alara had heard enough. She put the K-Pop records in the albums and held them in her arms. She then went over and did the same with the Brozone album. Alara said nothing as she organized the music âSukiâs wayâ in her equipment, Pop being in front and anything outside of it way in the back. Once she was finished, Alara grabbed the 2 K-Pop and Brozone albums and stormed away, angry and hurt.
Suki didnât realize too late that sheâd gone too far. If Poppy was here, sheâd be very disappointed with her.
Alara made her way back to the pod and went straight to her room. She placed the albums down on her desk then let herself fall on her bed. Afterwards, she grabbed her pillow and screamed angrily into it until she was lying flat on her back. She didnât move from her spot until she heard a knock on the door.
âAlara? You all right in there?â someone asked on the other side.
Alara got up from her bed and opened the door. She saw Raine looking at her with concern.
âSorry, Raine. I just need some alone time,â Alara apologized.
Raine nodded in understanding. Before she left, she gave Alara a hug to comfort her. Alara returned it, feeling a little better but still wanted to be alone. She shut the door and returned to lying down on her bed, doing nothing but looking up at the ceiling lost in thought. Alara sighed before grabbing the Brozone album off her desk and just looked at it. She soon ended up dozing off because when she woke up, it was dark inside her room.
Night had fallen and she was certain her sisters were asleep by now. Alara realized that she hadnât eaten anything, so she decided to head into the kitchen. When she got there, she was surprised to see Lana by the stove heating up some water. It looked like she was making herself some cocoa or tea to help her fall asleep.
Lana turned around and saw Alara standing in the doorway. She silently held her hand out, letting her know she could come in. Alara entered and sat down at the table. Lana went to the fridge and pulled out a bowl filled with soup. She reheated it on the stove then grabbed a spoon and put the bowl on the table once it was ready. Alara wasted no time eating it since she was hungry. When she was done eating, Lana took her bowl and replaced it with a mug of hot chocolate, extra marshmallows. She gave her sister a sympathetic smile before washing the dishes in the sink and putting them away in the cupboard after drying them. Once she was finished, Lana grabbed her own mug of hot chocolate and joined her sister at the table.
âRaine told me what happened today. Are you okay?â she asked.
Alara shook her head.
âLanaâŠwhat do Pop Trolls have against other Trolls that are different from them? I thought that after the Rock Apocalypse things would be more open, but it still feelsâŠsmall,â she said softly.
âA lot of the Pop Trolls still arenât used to different types of Troll culture and their music. This sort of situation takes time. But Alara you should know that not everyoneâs open to Trolls that are different or unique. You canât change someoneâs perspective on the Troll Kingdom, only they can do that,â Lana explained.
âI know youâre right. But I donât have to like it,â Alara frowned while sipping her cocoa.
âThatâs all right. As long as you keep your comments to yourself, youâll be fine,â Lana chuckled, sipping her cocoa.
Alara sighed.
âSuki insulted the K-Pop Gang,â she said.
âYou went with them to look for John Dory, is that correct?â Lana asked.
Alara nodded.
âThey may not be Pop Trolls, but their music is close to Pop. I thought they were very cool Trolls. Itâs a bummer that they were bounty hunters hired by Barb to steal the Pop String though,â she remembered.
âCorrection: used to be bounty hunters. They donât do that anymore,â Lana reminded her.
âRight,â Alara remembered.
âSo Suki said I could have them and I stormed home with them. Along with the Brozone album,â she added.
âWorried about John Dory?â Lana wondered.
âWeâre all worried about him, Lana. But youâre the one whoâs worried the most,â Alara noticed.
âI canât help it. Itâs an eldest sibling thing and I know how much he means to Branch,â Lana sighed.
âLook, Alara. Regarding your situation with Suki, donât listen to her criticizing other Trolls. If she has a problem with them, thatâs her decision, not yours,â she added.
âOkay,â Alara understood.
Lana smiled sympathetically at her.
âYouâve had a long day. Why donât you get some sleep,â she suggested.
Alara nodded in agreement. So both of them finished their mugs of cocoa and made their way towards their rooms.
âLana?â Alara called out quietly.
âHmm?â Lana responded.
Alara approached her and gave her a hug.
âThank youâŠâ she said softly.
Lana smiled and wrapped her arms around her, returning the hug.
Alara let go and then went to her room to go to sleep. Lana smiled before going into her room and turning in for the night. Acceptance over uniqueness was never an easy task for her and her sisters. But as long as they stayed true to themselves and ignored those that were opinionated, theyâll be fineâŠâŠ.
Author's Note: 4th story of my series outside @rydoesartandstuff "Great Decisions." Had fun with making up some of the references of certain bands and singers with some help from the Brozone website. This one focuses on Alara's service in Pop Village. 4 down, 2 to go.

World Emoji Day
Plant Perfume Bombs
Emi was taking a stroll around the Village while collecting flowers, roots, dry leaves, and all different kinds of plants. Some of the Pop Trolls noticed this and began to gossip.
âWhat is she doing with all of those plants?â One Troll wondered.
âProbably more traps to keep the beasts out,â Another Troll guessed.
âOr maybe theyâre gonna be traps for her own pod,â Another Troll assumed.
Emi ignored the Trollsâ gossip and made her way back home. Although that last bit of gossip felt tempting. But she knew Lana wouldnât allow that. A few miles from their pod, perhaps, but not close to their pod. Thatâd risk someone getting hurt. What Emi had in mind with her supplies was something no Troll would ever think of. Or rather, Trolls with survival skills.
As soon as she made it to her home, she went into her room and got to work. She used the dry leaves to make containers while using tree sap as glue to hold it together. Once those were ready, she began mashing different flowers and plants in separate bowls. She experimented with different scents and when she found one she liked, she added it to one of the containers. There were also some where she decided to leave unexpected surprises. Those would definitely keep the beasts away for weeks.
She ended up making 5 of them due to her limit of supplies. Plus, it was a prototype since it hadnât been tested yet. Thatâs why she was hoping to test them when she went to patrol for beasts. What started off as perfume ended up turning into somethingâŠdifferent. Unique to her sisters, but different to Trolls that wereâŠsmall-minded.
So Emi sealed them up with strong fabric thread and tied it well and tight. She then stuffed her prototypes in her hair and left the pod to her patrol spot. So far, things were peaceful but also quietâŠa little too quiet in Emiâs book. She did see some critters here and there, but they werenât harmless, just small bugs that were friendly to nuzzle. Time seemed to go by and it didnât take long for Emi to get bored.
âMust be a slow day. Big bummer. I really wanted to try out my prototypes. Oh, well. Thereâs always tomorrow,â she pouted.
So Emi climbed down the tree and began making her way back to the Village. Little did she know that she made herself a target. As she was walking, a big blue creature with yellow eyes, big red horns, purple lips with sharp teeth, and razor sharp claws came out of the bushes. A Growlbeast. It raised one of its paws at her, going for the kill untilâŠ
âEmi, look out!â someone shouted.
âHmm?â Emi heard.
She turned around and saw the beast about to attack. Emi quickly rolled into a ball and got away from the Growlbeastâs claws just in time. Once she was a few feet away, she looked up and wondered why gave her the warning. In a tree nearby where she was patrolling was her little sister, Star.
She was out picking some blueberries to make a cake when she saw the Growlbeast. Star also found some glitterfruit and began throwing them at it, clouds of sparkling glitter exploding everywhere. It was the perfect cover-up for Emi to get away, so she did and disappeared into a bush. The Growlbeast dodged the explosions then charged into the tree with its big red horns.
The impact of the tree shaking caused Star to lose her balance and fall to the ground. When she landed, there was the sound of a crack.
âArgh! That hurt!â she exclaimed in pain.
However, Star didnât have time to check where it hurt as the Growlbeast was making its way towards her. Star screamed and covered her face with one of her arms to protect herself.
Emi ran out of the bushes and charged at the Growlbeast. She jumped up high and yanked some of its fur off its head, which made it roar in pain, before landing between them.
âTime to play, beast!â she exclaimed in anger.
Emi quickly turned around to check on Star, but was shocked to see that she wasnât there. When she looked up, she was relieved to see her in lavender hair, knowing only 1 Troll with that color. Lana had used it in the nick of time to pull Star to safety. As she formed her hair back to normal, her different brown colored eyes narrowed in anger at the Growlbeast. It was going to pay for what itâd done to their little sister.
But first things first, Star needed to get to safety.
âTake Star and get out of here, Lana!â Emi instructed.
âOkay!â Lana replied.
She ran with Star in her arms as fast as she could back to the village.
The Growlbeast growled at Emi, who stood her ground and took a fighting stance. Before she could even act, she noticed Lana had returned to join her. Neither of them spoke, but Emi didnât need words to know what her sister was thinking. Instead she smirked at her and nodded in thanks, which Lana returned. No way was Lana letting her sister handle this fight alone. If there were any Trolls who were good at protecting Star, it was the 2 of them. They practically raised her together before the rest of their sisters came along. Besides, 2 Trolls are better than 1. Both girls turned their attention back to the Growlbeast, who didnât even look intimidated that another Troll joined the fight. They took a fighting stance and waited for their opponent to make the 1st move.
The Growlbeast charged at both of them and the girls dodged the attack. Emi used her hair to make herself hover while Lana flipped out of the way then began making her way towards the back of the beast. While in mid-air, Emi took out one of her prototypes, gave it a quick shake, and gave it a toss after removing the thread. The prototype exploded in the beastâs face, temporarily blinded while the area smelled of mint and jasmine.
âWow. That smells good! What was that?â Lana wondered.
âItâs kind of like a bomb, but filled with mashed plants and herbs to give off a perfume scent. I just made them up!â Emi explained.
âPlant Perfume bombs?! Oh, Iâve gotta try one of those!â Lana exclaimed in fascination.
âHere, catch!â Emi shouted, then tossed one of her bombs to her.
Lana caught it in her hands but then quickly put it in her hair. The beast may have been temporarily blind, but it could still hear them. Emi noticed this and quickly took out another bomb. It was her one with an unexpected surprise. She knew because sheâd painted a skull and crossbones on it for that one specifically.
It gave her an idea as she smelled the faint scent of cotton candy coming from the bomb she gave to her sister. However, they had to time this right, or else there was gonna be one huge stink of failure.
As Lana dodged the Growlbeastâs attack, she noticed Emi making hand gestures towards her while pointing at a branch and then the Growlbeast. Lana got the message and nodded in understanding. She used her hair to swing herself up into the tree while Emi kept the Growlbeast distracted.
âNa-na-na-na-na!â Emi taunted, blowing a raspberry at the Growlbeast.
The Growlbeast heard her taunting and charged in her direction, but it ended up hitting the tree instead. Lana took that as her cue and jumped down until she landed on the Growlbeastâs back and grabbed it by the horns. The Growlbeast hated that and tried to shake her off, but Lana wouldnât let go. Soon the match was like a rodeo that Country Trolls would watch. Of course, not many could take on a ferocious beast and live to tell the story, except for Branch and John Dory.
Emi watched her sister hang on tight as the Growlbeast continued to try but fail to get Lana off its back. Once she saw an opening, she shook her unexpected surprise bomb, removed the thread and threw it at the Growlbeast. Lana saw it coming and let go of the horns, ran up towards its head and jumped off. Emi grabbed her hands just in time and the explosion went off.
Suddenly, the Growlbeast was roaring like crazy. The reason was because Emiâs unexpected surprise was a mixture of Stink Shrooms and Stickleburrs. So not only did the Growlbeast REALLY stink worse than a Stinkbug, but it also had dried fruit with teeth stuck in its fur, which would make both very difficult to remove for months.
However, the girls werenât done yet. Emi got her revenge, now it was Lanaâs turn. Lana held the bomb out while smelling the faint scent of cotton candy.
âThis is for our little sister, you b!tch!â she thought.
Lana removed the thread and threw the bomb. It landed in the Growlbeastâs mouth, which it instantly closed when it felt the object inside. Soon there was an explosion and its mouth began to leak out red juice, staining parts of its fur. The Growlbeast mistook it for blood and began running as far as it could away from the girls. However, it didnât get that far as it soon ended up falling asleep a mile away from the village.
âLights out!â Emi smirked.
She hovered Lana back to the village and gently dropped her a few feet nearby before landing herself.
âYou okay?â Lana asked.
âYeah. Is StarâŠ?â Emi answered, then started to ask.
Lana nodded.
âSheâs safe. Her armâs broken, but sheâs safe,â she explained.
âThank you,â Emi said, sighing with relief.
Lana smiled and nodded.
The 2 of them draped an arm over each other and began making their way home. When they made it to their pod, Star was in the living room, lying on the couch. One of her arms was in a cast and sling. Sheâd have to wear that for a few weeks until her arm was healed. When she heard the door open, she was happy to see her 2 sisters were all right. They joined her on the couch and provided lots of love with hugs.
Emiâs prototype Plant Perfume Bombs were a success and saved the day. Another new way to help them survive. However, she and Lana thought itâd be best to use her unexpected surprise, now dubbed âThe Sneak and Stink,â only in case of emergency. Not just because it was too powerful, but also because nobody should be around it. Unless theyâd want to be stuck in a tomato juice bath for the next 24-48 hoursâŠ..
Author's Note: 3rd story of my series outside of @rydoesartandstuff "Great Decisions." I had a lot of fun and laughs writing this one. This one focuses on Emi's service in Pop Village. 3 down, 3 to go.

I'd like to thank Ry for the creation of this creature. Along with @amethyst-broppy-fan for creating this masterpiece from Ch. 9 of "Great Decisions."

hii ive been thinking way too much about worldbuilding and trolls and i loved reading the world you established. i was wondering if you had a list of all the custom flora/fauna youve made? seeing critteryotes in the newest chapter made me want to try and incoperate your ideas of the trolls world wilderness into what ive been thinking about ,, ty!!!
Eeee Iâm so glad you like it! I worked very hard! I donât have any drawings, but I could at least try to give a few descriptions, mostly of the fauna I remember!
Critteryotes: Large canines, about half as tall as a troll when on all fours. Dark greenish black fur to blend into the woods, and yellow eyes. Excellent sense of smell, hunt in packs.
Pinegolin: Kinda like a pangolin, but looks like a pinecone! Has tough scales that its babies are carried in, like pinecone seeds. Typically docile, about Rhonda sized.
Chamelion: Large feline/reptile, bright green, has a mix of scales and wiry fur that it can shift to completely blend in to/disappear into its surroundings. Scales are very tough, and footpads allow for it to âstickâ to vertical surfaces/trees. Thick, wiry mane, and long, coiled tail. Aggressive, and has a tendency to play with its food.
Tuskhog: Basically a giant wild hog, brown with coarse hair, and six sets of tusks, one pair going up, one pair down, and one pair pointing straight out. Larger than trolls, and VERY territorial/aggressive.
Mammothfly: Literally a cross between a woolly mammoth and a fly, with large wings, six thick furry legs, and a trunk/proboscis used for feeding. Common transportation for the Party Crashers.
Bobtail: Or a Bobcat, smaller feline that lives up in the mountains, usually solitary, but will hunt larger prey if starving. Long, lanky legs for climbing, and a bobbed, almost bunny-like tail. So basically a bobcat, just bigger/taller lmao
Thereâs also like, other names Iâve just kinda made up for funzies, like âFuzzratâ, âBuzzbeeâ, or âDustbunnyâ. And others are technically canon to the trolls world, like Puffalos, Grossums, Growlbeasts, Snugglepups, etc. However, I will add one more, one that was never ACTUALLY described in the story, but one I always picturedâŠ
The beast that trapped JD in that cave when he was out on his own was a Saber Bear, which is just like what it sounds like. Think a grizzly bear, with saber-teeth. And JD practically tore it to shreds. Bit off its ear, broke one of its fangs with a rock, and sliced open its throat. Just as a fun, little side note that never really came to life in the storyđ
Anyways, hope that did it justice!
As for Flora, only a few come to mindâŠ
Lightâs Out Berries: Black berries with red stems/juice, can immediatly put a troll to sleep, or even kill them. Smell like cotton candy.
Knock Out Berries: Lightâs out berries lesser potent cousin, more blue with orange stems. Can knock a troll out for a few minutes, generally harmless (Unless allergic). Also smell like cotton candy, but less so.
Forget-me-lots: Cousin to âForget-me-notsâ, grey instead of blue, known to cause extreme memory loss.
âBittyâ Berries: Or blueberries, JDâs favorite
I feel like there may be more, but Iâm blanking rn, so⊠HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
Discoveries in the Library
Star was in the Village with her sisters looking at the board. Now that Lana had found something to keep her busy, she decided it was her turn. She found something and tore the paper down to read it.
âWhat did you find, little sis?â Lana asked.
âHere,â Star replied, handing her the paper.
âThe Troll Village Library,â Emi read.
âHuh. I didnât know the Village had a library,â Lana said.
âMe neither,â Rayna agreed.
âItâs a rare place in the Village. Frankly because not a lot of Trolls go there, except for Poppy and Branch,â Raine explained.
âWhy? Is it forbidden or something?â Rayna wondered.
âNo. Trolls just donât like to read,â Alara answered.
âYouâreâŠkidding, right?â Lana asked, flabbergasted.
Raine and Alara shook their heads.
âTrolls prefer scrapbooking over reading,â Raine explained.
âSo their library is filled with scrapbooks instead of actual books? Thatâs just sad,â Star thought while shaking her head.
âMaybe, Star. But Trolls can learn things from pictures, not just words,â Lana replied.
Star tilted her head in confusion, not really understanding what her big sister meant.
Lana smiled sympathetically and rubbed the top of her head.
âYouâll find out soon enough,â she assured her.
âI know where the Library is. This way,â Alara said, already heading in the direction of their destination.
So Star followed after her while her sisters waved good-bye and resumed their attention on the board.
Alara stopped for a minute so Star could catch up. The 2 of them walked together until they stopped in front of a tree with huge purple and gold double doors.
âHere we are,â Alara announced, then opened the doors.
Inside was a mine cart and a set of tracks.
âThis doesnât look like the library to me,â Star noticed.
âYou have to ride the cart to get there, silly!â Alara pointed out, giggling.
Star looked at the cart with anticipation, then got in slowly. Alara joined her and the cart started to move. Star couldnât tell how fast they were going because she was too busy screaming while holding on tight. Alara was also screaming, but out of excitement not fear while raising her arms up. As quick as the cart went, it soon stopped and the girls were right back where they started.
âWhew! That was fun, wasnât it Star?â Alara asked.
ââŠâŠâ Star didnât answer.
âUh, Star?â Alara tried again.
When Star didnât respond, she got out and tried getting in front of her.
Star had a very tight grip on the cart. A few pieces of her hair were messy and one of her eyes twitched every 5 seconds. She was scared stiff.
âOh, dear,â Alara noticed.
She helped Star get out of the cart, which wasnât easy due to her tight grip, and gently set her down on the ground a few feet away from it. Afterwards, she took out some gumdrops from her pocket and fed her one. The zing from them made Star snap out of it, but she still looked a little shaky. So she gave her a bottle of water and Star drank it slowly. Once she finished it, she handed the empty bottle back to her.
âAre you okay, Star?â Alara asked, concerned.
âA little shaky, but Iâm okay,â Star answered honestly.
âHere. Eat some more gumdrops. Youâll feel better,â Alara replied.
Star took and ate some more of them. The sugar from the gumdrops helped suppress the fear that she was feeling and it also distracted her. Once she was done, she gave what was left of the gumdrops back to Alara. She continued to sit until the sugar eventually wore off.
Alara helped Star get up, then gave her a hug. That made Star feel a little better as she returned it. Afterwards, Alara led Star to the library. Star was shocked to see so many rows and rows of books in the hallway. Or rather scrapbooks. She looked around her spot for a minute, then a mischievous and playful grin grew on her face.
âAlara, thereâs something I always wanted to do. Can I do it?â she asked.
âWhat is it?â Alara wondered.
Star whispered her idea in her ear, which made Alara giggle in response.
âGo ahead,â Alara said with a smile.
Star faced the hallway, then cupped her hands over her mouth.
âECHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!â she shouted, then listened to her echo bounce off the walls until it went quiet again.
âNow glitter balling in for the Southside Trolls, #15âŠâ Alara played along, pretending to be a sportâs host.
Star and Alara laughed at their funny antics. After goofing around, they made their way down to the hallway. Alara pointed out to Star certain sections in the library that were considered important to Pop Village.
âHugs, Hugs Continued, Hugs Continued, Continued. Wow a lot of scrapbooks just based on hugs,â Star read while muttering.
âMm-hmm,â Alara nodded.
Star noticed a book that was covered in cobwebs and it piqued her curiosity. She picked it off the shelf, removed the cobwebs and blew the dust off the cover.
âPractical Matters,â she read.
âThatâs considered unimportant to Pop Village,â Alara explained.
Star opened it and saw nothing but specific details regarding a situation. There were steps and sketches of how to work a machine, how to handle taxes, what to do if spotted by a ferocious beast, the list went on and on.
âThis book sounds suitable for Branch,â she thought.
As she closed the book, she noticed the cover looked a little worn out as if someone had read it multiple times.
âOh. I guess Branch has already read this. I wonder if this is how he was able to build his Bunker,â she wondered while putting it back on the shelf.
Alara just shrugged her shoulders in response.
The girls started off again. They came across a section of books that were based on the different Troll Tribes. Star thought that would be great for them since they were now friends with Hickory. Also, they wanted to learn everything about the different Troll Tribes since their history had been lost or buried for years. Sheâd look into that later.
As they continued going through the rows of scrapbooks and making sure everything was organized, Star came across something gold sticking out on one of the shelves.
âHang on a minute, Alara. I think I saw something,â she said, stopping.
âWhat is it, Star?â Alara wondered.
Star didnât answer as she made her way towards the shelf and tried grabbing the gold cover from the shelf. But it was wedged in tight by some of the scrapbooks.
âItâs stuck!â Star said, struggling to pull it out.
Alara made her way over and helped Star pull from behind.
The 2 of them pulled and pulled until they fell over with the gold cover in Starâs hand. Alara got hurt as a scrapbook fell and hit her head. Luckily, it was a very light one so she wasnât hurt badly. Although she was gonna need an ice pack to take care of that bump.
âThatâŠwas not fun,â Alara said dizzily.
âI know. Ouch,â Star replied.
After the girls collected themselves, they looked at the golden cover they pulled from the shelf. To Starâs surprise, it wasnât a scrapbook, it was a magazine. But what shocked her the most was who and what was ON the cover of the magazine.
Alara noticed her reaction and realized that she knew something.
âHave you seen this before, Star?â she asked.
âNo, but I remember Poppy asking me and Lana about it before she left with Branch and Rhonda at the wedding,â Star answered.
âSo this magazine is a clue,â Alara realized.
âWe need to show this to the girls,â Star decided.
Alara nodded in agreement. So the 2 of them left the library with the magazine in hand.
Inside the girlsâ pod, the girls were all gathered in the kitchen. Emi finished giving Alara an ice pack for her head before sitting down.
âI found this during my time in the library,â Star said, showing them the magazine.
The girls gasped when they saw the cover. Star opened it and the magazine was filled with lots of pictures of Mount Rageous, including those that lived there: the Mount Rageons.
âMount Rageous. A celebrity-obsessed, fast-paced environment, and futuristic city in the sky,â she read out loud.
âFuturistic?! That place looks like a jewelry box exploded with different types of technology! I mean, look at that! Those people are driving on the road upside down! Thatâs literally defying gravity, which shouldnât even be possible, scientifically speaking!â Emi scoffed in disbelief, crossing her arms.
âErâŠspeaking of people, does anybody think that thereâs somethingâŠoff about them?â Raine wondered.
âYou mean other than the fact they look like rubber or plastic spaghetti dolls?â Rayna noticed.
âNo, wait. Raineâs onto something. Look at them. They look like theyâre the age of a teenager. All of them, even ones that look like security guards. There are no adults anywhere,â Alara pointed out.
âMount Rageons. 6-7 ft. tall, lanky, and very flexible with shiny matte-chrome skin and molded hair,â Star continued reading.
âI still think it looks like spaghetti,â Rayna muttered.
âHmm. Their heightâs taller than a Trollâs. Poppy and Branch will have to be careful when rescuing John Dory,â Lana noted.
The girls nodded in agreement. Mount Rageons may not be bigger than Bergens, but that didnât make them less dangerous for Trolls.
âThe Mount Rageons wear baggy jumpsuits, trousers, and anything flashy to match their hair. They value beauty, speed, and above all, instant fame. Once word gets out one of them becomes famous, they become fans just like that,â Star continued reading.
âYou mean like those 2 who look more like spoiled brats than celebrities?â Raine frowned while pointing to 2 Mount Rageons in particular.
Lana looked at where she was pointing and quietly gasped. She had a bad feeling about them just by looking at their picture. There was also no doubt in her mind that these were John Doryâs real kidnappers. However, that wasnât the only reason she was feeling this way. She was vaguely remembering a memory from her past as her head began to hurt. It was blurry, but there was a Troll wearing the same kind of greedy and evil grin on her face like the Mount Rageon girl in the magazine.
âLana?â Emi said, looking at her with concern.
âSorry. I blacked out there for a second,â Lana apologized.
âDo you want me to stop?â Star asked.
âNo, please. We must know more about this,â Lana answered.
Emi left the room for a minute then came back with a soft pillow and blanket.
âLay your head down here,â she said softly, then draped the blanket over Lanaâs shoulders.
Lana obeyed and laid her head down on the pillow.
Emi sat down next to her and began lightly brushing her hair through her fingers while wrapping an arm around her. Once Lana started feeling better, Emi motioned Star to continue.
âVelvet and Veneer. Mount Rageousâs newest superstar and sibling duo. Their biggest hit song: Watch Me Work. After 2 months on the scene, theyâll be the first stars to receive the Lifer-Reward - celebrating a lifetime of achievements - and will be doing a performance at the Rage DomeâŠthis weekend,â Star finished reading slowly in horror.
The girls gasped at the announcement described in the magazine.
That was only in just a few days, which meant that itâd be happening soon.
âThatâs not good,â Alara said.
âWherever Poppy and Branch are with Rhonda, they better hurry. John Dory might not have that much time left,â Lana added.
âDonât worry, Lana. As I told you before, theyâre going to save him,â Star reminded her.
Lana nodded, but she was still worried.
Star knew her words of assurance werenât enough. Her big sister wouldnât be happy until she saw them return with their brother in-hand. Only once when they were safe at home and out of danger would she be able to relax. But for now, all they could do was wait and hope that it wasnât too lateâŠ.

It was soon unbanned once the restriction "once per turn" was added along with the prevention from activating the Effect of the Monster you searched for on the same turn.*
