So this is not my normal stuff but I wanted to introduce myself a little bit and explain why I write. (Non art blog @peace-eludes)

I'd love it if you called me Mimi/muse (she/her but Idc if you use they/them) but Mimi is my name/nickname. I'm 17 years old and have been writing songs since I was 6 but took up poetry over the pandemic. I could no longer do my lessons for the instrument I played (for a litany of reasons) but still had this urge to write. Like there was something I needed to say. I started in notebooks showing no one. (Most of which are lost to time) But in the beginning I was very bad and I continued because I cared about getting better at writing. I think it's the only thing I've ever loved in that way, enough to change for it. I've written around 200-300 songs since I started keeping track in 2023. And maybe 25-30 poems (hard to estimate as some songs get turned to poems so I can submit and vice versa) Currently I have a fully written album kinda sitting in purgatory bc I don't want people to see it in case it could actually be something? And when I say fully I mean music videos written, album cover idea chosen, and name picked. I just need to produce it and get a following.

I love TV and movies! I actually have a letterboxed and queue that I use regularly. Some of my favorite shows are the good place, wayne, snl (unc), doctor who, and community. I'm obsessed with superheroes (I collect comics) my favorite DC superheroes are stargirl, the flash, and Supergirl/Superman. My favorite marvel superheroes are Spider-Man, Scarlet witch, and spider punk. I like marvel movies better than DC but DC comics better. My four favorite films are the perks of being a wallflower, the princess bride, Dakota skye (also called lie to me depending on country) and eurotrip. I've been in musicals and plays and enjoy theater. (Although I am rather picky with what shows I like) My favorite shows right now are John proctor is the villain, legally Blonde, and next to normal. But when I was younger I was really into Hamilton, mean girls, and six so I still know them pretty well. I really only speak English but I also know a small amount of French.

I love music and still plan on doing a music related career. I want to learn to produce music. Some singers/bands I like In no specific order. The Arctic monkeys, the 1975, Mac Miller, frank Ocean, Claire Rosinkranz, laylow, Lizzy mcalpine, Fleetwood mac, new order, lorde, role model, Phoebe bridgers, childish Gambino, romy mars, Haley Williams,Joan baez Lucy dacus, the killers, laylow, Suki Waterhouse, the naked and famous, Olivia Rodrigo, the Smiths, Deftones, the strokes, joni Mitchell, and the backseat lovers (I did not in fact plan for the list to be that long I just really fw music)

I read a lot I like romance, philosophy and horror/mystery. I like an unclear idea/ending. I like podcasts and YouTube (commentary, comedy, video essays). If you're wondering what my favorite YouTubers are just ask ( it's probably going to be long this is already kinda long) My personality type is INFJ and my favorite color is dark blue. I love stars and astronomy (but hate space tourism). I'm a Slytherin (been so long since I read those books) I'm in cabin 7. I love doing little art things so I scrapbook a lot (I save everything. It's a problem.) I tried to crochet/knit (I can't figure it out) I'm horrible at drawing but I like doing anything else artsy. I care about political issues and enjoy writing about them. I'm fluid/queer but prefer no labels. Let me be clear I'm a feminist. F*ck trump f*ck ice f*ck ai free Palestine. (Just want people to understand me <3) I also love Jesus a lot. If anyone ever wants to talk about how these facts can coexist in me (respectfully) I'm always willing to talk. (Also any comments from bots/creeps will be deleted and you will get blocked so don't try)

So if you like any of that we might get along! You might even like my songs/poems. I generally post a poem once a week (sometimes more sometimes less) and am trying to post prompts every other week. I speak on some adult themes sometimes being an older teenager (usually there's a tw or vd) if you're a younger person please don't read something you know will make you uncomfortable. Treat yourself with kindness inside and out. I love doing tag games but I do like to stay pretty anonymous so I might not do them all. But I love giving you guys a chance to know me. (I also just might not have time to do them but I'll try to reply at least)

Also, I know a lot of my followers first language isn't English (or just aren't American) and I'm an English speaker who speaks a very colloquial dialect that has some region specific phrases, so if you ever need me to tell you what something means, I'm okay with that. It's okay to ask.

I genuinely don't feel like myself if I'm not writing. And most of the time I'm not even writing about myself. I just have so many stories in my effing head that I need to get out. Alot of times when writing I think about what place/vibe I want people to associate with my music. Like escape the crowd is very middle America, summer after senior year ,hanging out with people who you know are temporary, driving to get away bc you can't leave yet. I try to capture these feelings exactly how I felt in the moment. Walking around the fairgrounds talking about a future that you know can't happen. And the currently untitled second project is very much the aftermath of escape the crowd. When this person is alone in this new place and feels isolated. It's about the coping mechanisms that they know and how they can fall back into old patterns in new places. But it's also very similarly to escape the crowd more so about growing up. There's a lot of songs on escape the crowd about feeling in between about the loss of youth. And how when you're young all you want is to be older so you waste so much time. And there's a lot of songs on the second project that are continuation of that. 🙏😭 I really care about escape the crowd. I've spent years of my life working on it. And the second project I started working on because I realized I had all these songs that I liked but they didn't fit the story quite of ETC. So I started working on the second one and it's really growing on me. Anyway, love you, guys. bye...!!!!

And I like Jane wickline's songs on update. I know she gets hated on a lot and I don't always like her delivery in sketches. It can be a little bit flat. Because I'd rather have something like out of the box and really interesting even if it's not very funny and kind of weird than like the same five dlck jokes.

Final thoughts

Just because I didn't name something here doesn't mean I don't like it. This is just like things I thought should be named. For instance, I really liked Ryan gosling's episode and I don't think I named anything from that. If anyone wants the music performers I think we're best. I also like to do that. But it's probably going to be a little biased. I literally screamed when I found out role model was going to be on SNL. And cried when I found out I was going to be busy that day. Talked about it the whole day. It was the whole thing. Anyway, I'm definitely a bias source but. I'd also totally love to talk about how I think the cast should be next season, but I don't know.

So I share an audible with my family (Ik Amazon :( but I am ill a lot and there's many books I can't find on my library app if you have tips that would be nice but? I don't use Goodreads anymore (fable) but it's hard for me to get rid of everything) and my brother and I have very different taste in books and sometimes it's funny bc he has like these male Sci-Fi dark manly men books (literally has a book there called why women deserve less (don't get me started) ik) and mine are like pink and or feminist/philosophy and I just think our differences are funny (also thinking of starting a different blog specifically for shit posting/stories etc and keeping this to poetry and music what do you guys think do you like it the way it is?)

So I never talked about it on here but now I think it's funny part of the reason I STILL haven't heard wishbone deluxe or any of Conan's new stuff is bc I had a crush on one of my close friends and I very much related to this song when I was in the trenches (to the point where I cannot listen to it anymore and now the entire album reminds me of them) I do very strongly relate music to memories I did the same a couple years ago with the song bad for business by sb (that song is literally blocked on my Spotify now because I was in delusion) but I will get to the deluxe because I can listen vodk@ cranberry now (Also, if you're seeing this please go look at the new song I posted called Puritan I don't know why like all my other posts are getting pushed out to you guys and that one isn't but I really think it's some of my best writing) also ik I mentioned it already but I legit can't with the cure (I almost started bawling 5 seconds in but the lyrics 'i used to play a game in my head when I date a guy...' genuinely therapy is needed
