It takes her a second to force herself to visibly relax a bit, breathing out a sigh as she pulls her laptop into her lap, opening it to log in. As soon as it loads, she turns it a bit to face the screen to the girl, scrolling through quick shots of articles about herself. "Do you ever get used to all the articles? Because I feel like I have no personal business anymore."
Lauren eyes him for a second as he speaks, sucking in a deep breath as she reluctantly lowers herself back into the couch, keeping a gap between them. "Just- remembering why I never got into this kind of life," She tries to explain, gesturing around them. "The whole fame and attention. The articles, the cameras, everything. It was always Matt's thing and he's so calm about it but half the time I feel like I can't move an inch without someone broadcasting it to a billion people I don't even know and I-" She starts rambling, her words rushed and become small as she stops to catch her breath, running her hands over her face. "I don't think I can do it- I'm not cut out for this."
“Ah, yes, the capsule of secrets. I mean I’m used to little sleep and just a weird resting schedule but the last time I flew was…months ago, honestly. Likewise! Oh uh- yeah, siblings. He’s two years older though so I’m the baby, I guess. I take it you know him? Well then, great. It looks like you have a buddy to accompany you tonight!”
“Does anyone even know where it is? Sleeping is my life but I can’t say I’ve had much of it since I’ve been here. At least you are catching up on it now. He never mentioned that he has a sibling. I’m the baby too but it isn’t that bad. Yeah, he sort of saved me from getting jumped by some girls. Sweet, did you want to go to a bar or something?”
"From what I've heard so far, nope! Well, maybe, I don't know actually. I think someone was talking about searching for it but I really don't want to tamper with it and risk any consequences. Any reasn why that may be though? It's a little complicated to explain- I mean, I'm a little offended I was never mentioned but Matt can be like that. It isn't a bad thing, no, it's actually got some perks. That sounds like him though, he's always playing hero. Not that it's bad! It's great but I just don't want him getting hurt because he's trying to save everyone. Yeah, a bar sounds great. Do you know where any are? because I have no idea where to go."
X.
Lauren’s eyes continue to skim her laptop screen as she reads through numerous articles with her name being brought up every two moments, her hands shaking as she pulls the sleeves of her sweater, shifting in her spot on the couch. After a while, she rubs her hands over her face and half-slams the laptop shut to toss it into the cushion next to her, letting out a shaky breath. Her hands remain over her face as she deeply breaths in and out for a few minutes, jumping suddenly as the couch dips under the weight of someone else taking a seat, her eyes widening as she looks over to the new person just inches from her. “Uh, hi, I-” She begins to stammer, moving further into her spot as she takes in a gulp of air. “-sorry, I’ll let you sit. I was just about to go...do something.” She says, starting to collect her laptop.
One of her hands lifts to accept the glass, cautiously bringing the other to hold the glass in fear of spilling any as she observes the drink for a moment. Her eyes lift to Joe as she smiles a bit, “Thank you.” She says before gingerly taking a sip from her drink, making a face as she tastes it, her eyebrows knitted. “So this is a…what did you call it? A neee-groni?” She slowly asks, looking at him while trying to properly pronounce the word as its repeated.
“Negroni, ni-groh-nee.” Joe pronounces the name of the drink. “ It’s a cocktail with gin, vermouth rosso, and Campari with a orange garnish. How is it?” He asks her about the beverage, noticing the face she made.
She takes in a deep breath, letting it out as she softly speaks. "I tried." She says and offers a slight, crooked smile before she listens to him list off what's in the drink. Despite nodding along, she has no clue what he's really talking about, biting her lips. "I..have no clue what any of that was," She admits with a light blush, trying to hide it by taking another small drink. "It's good, just- new, is all."

The boys are pretty cute, but I would…if I actually knew some, which sadly, I don’t happen to.
It’s okay, darling, I think I have got someone to teach me, but I haven’t seen you before, new to the show?
Oh, good! Alright! I felt bad because I had nothing much to offer for help wise. Picking up other foreign languages wasn't my thing growing up, my brother was great at that stuff. Yeah, brand new to...everything, actually. I'm Lauren Cherub.
washedduphollywood:
You’re very welcome! I could only imagine that tends to slip from mind when you become a parent - you’re so focused on trying to take care of another human being that can’t do everything we can yet, and it’s probably crazy busy and tiring. But you deserve to treat yourself a bit. How old is…he? Or is it she? I feel terrible calling a child an it I’m so sorry.
Especially newborns, they’re so demanding. I definitely do but I’m still trying to balance things out. Don’t worry love, it happens way too often. He’s a boy, and he’s only a month old.
Yeah, I know, oh god. My friend had a baby a few years back and she was the fussiest, most demanding little being ever. Cutest little girl she was, though. Has that been working well so far? Well, congratulations on your son anyways! What's his name?
“Yeah, with the um…the extension of our ‘vacation’? If you could even call it that. I’ve been trying, I just got here though and all I’ve wanted to do is sleep and eat. May, cool, hi- nice to meet you. I’m Lauren- Lauren Cherub. Can I trust if I go out with you, you won’t let me get snatched up by some creep?”
“ I would call it that. Even though they are threaten to post our secrets. Jet lag will do that to you but you’ll get used to it after a while. It’s lovely to meet you Lauren. Cherub..I think that is Matt’s last name. Are you guys related? I can absolutely assure you that won’t happen, I’ll punch them in the first before anything happens.”
"Ah, yes, the capsule of secrets. I mean I'm used to little sleep and just a weird resting schedule but the last time I flew was...months ago, honestly. Likewise! Oh uh- yeah, siblings. He's two years older though so I'm the baby, I guess. I take it you know him? Well then, great. It looks like you have a buddy to accompany you tonight!"
“That’s the fifth time we’ve passed that same pole. We’re definitely lost.”
"No, no its not! We're not lost, we're just...taking in the beauty of this...specific block. It's got some nice stores and- and yeah, okay, we're just a little lost..But don't worry, we'll find our way back, I got this."
“I haven’t seen maybe as much yet but it is nice from what I did kind of see. I mean, more like..I drove by and admired the view from my window but…anyways. Uh- I mean…that sounds fun, but I don’t know you?”
“Well apparently you have more than enough time to do so. I mean that sort of does count but I suggest you get up close and personal. It will be fun and I’m May.”

Well, I think the four hours paid off because it looks gorgeous. I’m not sure if I could personally sit there for four hours and get my hair done, but it looks great on you.
Aw thank you! I really appreciate it that, it was about time I did something for me. So far I’ve been so consume with being a mother that I had forgotten how to take care of myself.

She smiles triumphantly and props an elbow on the counter, resting her chin in her palm as she eyes the shelves behind the counter. “Hm,” She squints as she thinks for a minute before her eyes lands back on him. “Surprise me - don’t let me down though. I’m trusting you here and I don’t usually trust strangers with these kind of decisions.”
“I won’t let you down.” Joe chuckle, getting some bottles of alcohol and juices on the shelves. He pours the liquids in the glass, stirring it a little then garnishes with a lemon slice. “Here, one Negroni for you.” He hands the glass to Lauren.
One of her hands lifts to accept the glass, cautiously bringing the other to hold the glass in fear of spilling any as she observes the drink for a moment. “Italy’s been so refreshing. New faces, beautiful art and fucking delicious food. I mean honestly could this get any better? — Actually it could…looks like I’m dragging you out for the night.”
“I haven’t seen maybe as much yet but it is nice from what I did kind of see. I mean, more like..I drove by and admired the view from my window but...anyways. Uh- I mean...that sounds fun, but I don’t know you?”
Italian boys are fucking hot as, so are the Italian girls, anyone want to teach me Italian? Please anyone…
The boys are pretty cute, but I would...if I actually knew some, which sadly, I don’t happen to.
Her mouth opens as she glances around at the bar, shrugging. “Yeah, why not?” She says, looking at him as her eyebrows shoot upwards quickly. Her bag is adjusted as she holds it against her side as she walks over to set it down by the bar, sitting up in one of the stools as her hands place on the counter, “Now do I have to do it myself or are you going to, Mr Joseph Montez?” She asks, her eyebrows raised as she smiles slightly.
“Guess I’ll do it then, Miss Lauren Cherub.” Joe smirks at the girl sitting in front of him as he prepares a glass for her. “Do you have a drink in particular or surprise you?” He asks her.
She smiles triumphantly and props an elbow on the counter, resting her chin in her palm as she eyes the shelves behind the counter. “Hm,” She squints as she thinks for a minute before her eyes lands back on him. “Surprise me - don’t let me down though.
