Nothing in canon so far disproves Jason’s theory that TBP is an alien zoo.

Or that both Places are alien zoos, but we haven’t seen TGP yet. Guess it could be the “nice” kind of zoo. Lots of enrichment and good food and exhibits that are well-socialised towards their own species and taken care of by people who care about their well-being.

While TBP is basically Jason’s cousin’s off-brand Seaworld: Low-tech, awful, and only there to benefit the sadists that run it or like to watch that sort of thing.

Just because humans are smart enough to advocate for themselves (oh wait, they failed at that. Michael did it for them), doesn’t change the fact that they are asking an alien being to place them in a nicer enclosure.
