The Barista Bundle
Full restock on all three Washed Out varieties available from the online store now! Larger, redesigned bars, same tried and true formulas! shop washed out
Two new items in the Washed Out store - Our coffee-based Barista body butter, and our mini sampler packs. The body butter is 100% plant based and 100% natural, a balanced blend of butters and oils, put together to improve the condition of your skin while strengthening it’s natural defences. It is incredibly light and soft in texture, and absorbs into the skin very quickly. It is super versatile, and can be used as a wash-out hair mask or leave-in conditioning product, as a shaving cream/aftershave balm, beard oil, sparingly as a general moisturiser or mor eliberally for more intensive or overnight treatments. The mini packs include one sampler bar of each of our soaps. They are individually packaged and bundled up. Perfect for anyone trying our stuff for the first time!

'which of them would you recommend?’
A lot of people ask me which of our soaps i’d recommend to them. While it’d be easy to recommend what I personally use and let them grab the same, it really is more of a discussion than that. The best way to get an idea of what you require from a product and thus know what to ask for, is to get an idea of what your skin type actually is; This is a really simplistic process, but so many people ask me about it, that I thought i’d address it here!
Get a grip on your skin type
So, it basically comes down to washing your face, waiting an hour or so for your skin to rebalance itself, and checking the findings. But it’s a little more specific than that; First, when you wash, be sure to use a very gentle cleanser - nothing too intense. A fine coat of soap and a splash or two of water should do the job. Then, very gently pat the face dry. Don’t rub - slight inflammation can affect your findings. From this point, you want to wait for around an hour, maybe a little longer, and you don’t want to touch your face, at all. Once your hour has passed, use a clean, dry tissue or cotton pad to pat down your face; you might find that the cotton pad is totally clean and your face looks like it’s usual self - you have a regular/normal skin type; It should feel supple and soft. You may however find oils. Somewhat obviously an indicator of an oily skin type, which can also be characterised by slightly larger pores. You may find flakes, or that the tissue highlights larger dry areas on the face itself (dry skin type). However, it is far more likely that you will find a combination of all three of the above - the combination skin type is the most common, and usually displays itself with an oily T-zone and regular and/or dryer patches on the forehead or under the eyes.
If you have a regular skin type, you can probably take a chance on the products you use - if you want to try it, you’re probably going to be fine, but if you have dry skin, you may want a more nourishing bar, or maybe something with an exfoliator to clear dead skin… Whatever your requirements, getting a handle on your skin ahead of time will equip you with the knowledge to really get your hands on a product which will enrich your daily routine… and that’s the aim of the game!
Thank the gods for a weekend of light duties! Spending some time cutting TT slices - single use slices of cold-process soap, which come packaged in a durable screw-top Travel Tin. Perfect for camping, travelling, or any time you find yourself on the road! Handful of these available in the store right now - Click right here to go cop one!

Washed Out 03 - Salt Of The Earth
Washed Out 03 - Salt Of The Earth
This is a very special bar! We started out with our Classic formula, and added shea butter, which provides a soft, luxurious and silky lather. We then added kaolin clay, which is great for the skin, particularly in clearing oily areas without completely stripping the skin of it's good oils. The recipe is topped with Himalayan sea salt, which is very nourishing and provides a gentle exfoliation. The soap is completely unfragranced, making it perfect for sensitive skin. I've been workshopping this idea for a while before I settled on a formula, and I couldn't be happier with the result! A really gentle, 100% natural, cleanser bar.
