《Echoes In Grain by Go Koyama》
2.15 (Sat.) —— 3.2 (Sun.)
in WASHIDA PARK

Go Koyama Solo Exhibition
Echoes In Grain by Go Koyama
The PARK shop will feature a series of works by wood artist Go Koyama from Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture.
Go Koyama is skilled in creating objects with smooth, gentle curves that give woodwork a soft and pleasant touch. From selecting the wood to smoothing its edges, the wood grain gradually reveals itself to the air. Koyama creates based on his initial intuition upon encountering the wood, following its shape and texture.
"I hope that after these trees, which have lived for hundreds of years, complete their first life, they can be reborn in the form of art and continue to live a beautiful second life."
Koyama has chosen wood types that resonate with WASHIDA PARK, including Jindai Zelkova, Jindai Elm, Japanese Horse Chestnut, Cherry Wood, and Chestnut Wood. The flowing curves of the works allow viewers to feel the subtlety and warmth of nature as they touch and gaze upon them.
The exhibited works include wooden sculptures, shallow plates with rounded shapes, and round plates with Koyama's unique style, featuring small depressions that mimic the marks left by insects nibbling on the wood.
The exhibition will run for two weeks. Feel free to visit PARK to experience the beautiful and delicate wooden creations of Go Koyama.
