tension she hadn’t even realized coiled within her unravel at the sight of his smile. it was done entirely with daring boldness, but she was glad to see he took it in the same lighthearted nature that was intended. her eyes tore away from the bartender’s preparations as he sparked up an new topic. “tess.” for once she abided by a request without being difficult. there wasn’t a plausible reason to challenge the man head on as she could be crafty without doing so. whatever she was doing seemed to be flowing between them just fine. but if he didn’t slow those compliments- he would have her anyway he wanted before the night came to an end. “i guess i should know my rescuer’s name. i never did give you a proper thank you.”

he’s always possessed a certain type of charm that he rarely ever utilizes. for him to shoot vivacious smiles towards the alluring female is a pretty swell indicator that, somewhere hidden beneath all the debris, he’s got a small soft spot for pretty girls with sharp tongues. “pleasure to meet you, tess. ‘m jay,” he offers with a devilish grin. introductions haven’t always been his strong suit, as he’s never really had to properly introduce himself. interactions with individuals were typically short-lived, and rarely had any genuine substance to them. however, he sees a tint of difference within the radiant female. “hey, don’t worry ‘bout. just doin’ what i know is right. scum like that shouldn’t even get the idea of talkin’ to a woman like you.”

Rayanne nods her head slightly at his comment on LA, agreeing with him. As much as she enjoys staying in her parents’ big fancy house, she can’t deny the fact that she misses the wild life she leads back in LA. “Yeah, it’s pretty cool most of the time. Great nightlife. I miss that.” she responds with a halfhearted laugh, tucking a loose piece of hair behind her ear. “Oh, please. There’s plenty of pretty girls in here.” she shakes her head gently, gesturing dismissively to no place in particular. “Oh – I’m Rayanne.”

of course, jay had only been in LA for business purposes only. he hadn’t seen all the lavish nightlife that everybody he’s associated with speaks so boldly about. part of him regrets how much he immerses himself in his work; it’s as if he barely has time to live. “yeah, that’s what i hear. i gotta get back over there and actually enjoy what the city has to offer,” he scoffs. he looks over at the female, his brows furrowing almost instantly. he then allows his gaze to pan across the dimly lit room, analyzing the faces that surround the duo. it doesn’t take long for him to meet back with her eyes, his eyes rolling ever so slightly. “nah, nah. you’re definitely the most beautiful woman in this place.” and jay king has seen his fair share of women who sauntered into the joint by accident. eight out of ten times, he’s had to settle. rayanne, on the other hand, is not settling material. she’s definitely the type of woman a man has to work for. “nice to meet you, rayanne. ‘m jay.”
