Raakel is a child of the Soviet-Afghan War, born to a Jewish Soviet soldier originally from Lithuania and now stationed in Afghanistan and an Austrian nurse volunteering with an aid organization. The war caught her parents between the front lines of the Cold War, unwilling to live in the Soviet Union together, unable to live in the West together. They turned to the one place that still allowed travel to the West while simultaneously being liberal with the immigration of Soviet citizens, and thus Raakel was born in Israel. Her mother might not have bartered on this meaning that Raakel and her two younger brothers would be raised in line with her husband’s ideals, but she acquiesced, and so Raakel’s life became one of discipline. While her father had primarily envisioned a military career for his sons, there was never much difference made in the children’s education, and thus Raakel also grew up amidst martial arts training, weekends at the shooting range and early rising for runs through the park, and as she hit her teenage years, she saw little alternative to a military career.

Her plans might have been shattered had it not been for Raakel’s unbreakable will: A car accident when Raakel was 16 took one of her younger brothers and shattered her knee. Rachel received the announcement that she would never be fit enough again with the defiance so typical of her, even more resolved now to make her army trainer father proud. She went through years of physical therapy until she was back in fighting shape, and after graduation from school devoted herself full-time to being allowed to serve until finally passing the test at 20. As a child born between worlds, Raakel had always been pretty apolitical, but she appreciated the discipline and structure that the military brought to her life, as well as getting the chance of making what felt like a difference. She advanced quickly in rank, thanks to her iron will, and made it to Sergeant Major before being injured in an air strike. Raakel liked to think the experience only made her more resolved to protect her country and wouldn’t hinder her service in the future – the IDF psychologist disagreed. Being suspended from service “until further notice” made Raakel even more irritable, aggressive and high-strung than she had been before her suspension, now that she was stuck home with nothing to do but wait and try not to let herself go.

A TV show seemed like a welcome respite, seeing as Raakel had always believed she could do anything she would put her mind to. She also saw it as a good opportunity to show her superiors that she could keep herself together even when exposed to the stress of being watched. Now that she knows what the show is about, Raakel’s primary reaction is resolve. Resolve not to give up, resolve to show what life has taught her, and resolve to emerge a person with ideals unbroken. There’s an anger inside her that makes her unpredictable and she has her moments where she trusts herself a lot less than she would like to, but Raakel would never willingly let that show. Well pretended is already halfway won. And if things go her way, she won’t even have to pretend, will she?

That’s amazing, Nonnie ! We’d love to have you. As for faceclaims, I recommend Naomi Scott, Freida Pinto, Kiko Mizuhara & Hayley Kiyoko. I had some trouble finding nonbinary faceclaims, so I’d ask some rph’s for help.

A small announcement for you all ! You won’t be able to claim Evelyn and Petra’s deaths today, even though it’s been three days. I’d like to give the characters some time to process Knight’s death - whose killer I just messaged, by the way - before going in with another two deaths. If you guys want to see things differently though, let me know ! Also, I’d like to remind you that you can post your TASK until tomorrow, so don’t wait too long !

C’s voice flows through the speakers around the House, clear & cheerful as if she were informing the contestants of the weather conditions rather than the first death within the House’s walls. 

The game is afoot. The question is whether or not you’re willing to play it.

If you want to claim Knight’s death for your muse, please message the main within 12 hours to be added to the randomized selection. Remember that if your win, you will have to write a self para about the murder within 48 hours. If you win, you will also have the chance to claim Knight’s weapon - a SPEAR - for your muse.

Do you have any banned FCs?

Not any specific ones, no. Just make sure to steer clear of deceased faceclaims and faceclaims that are seriously problematic. ( Such as for instance Mark Salling. ) I don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable because a certain faceclaim is being played on the dash, but other than that you are completely free to choose whoever you’d like !

Now that the contestants have been confronted with their impending doom, they might find themselves reflecting on their lives. Have they lived well ? Do they have regrets ? Are there things they wish they’d done before they signed up for the show ?

Happy Sunday, everyone ! For our first task we ask that you compose a BUCKET LIST for your muse. What do they still want to do before they die ? What do they wish they’d told a loved one ?
