Amazing K! K-San ran 5,000km across the U.S.A., starting in Santa Monica, CA and ending in New York tracing the entire #Route66 in 79 DAYS! He ran from April 25 to July 2, 2015 from 6am to 7pm each day, averaging 44 miles per day. Yes, you read that correctly. That is a full marathon in the morning + half marathon & then some in the afternoon/evening, PER DAY!
K & Neung own a 100% vegan cafe in Bangkok called “Bonita Café & Social Club” located in the Silom area in #Bangkok. They are advocates for healthy living, animal loving and, of course, running 👟
I’ve had the pleasure of spending these last couple of days at @bonitacafebkk, enjoying tea & eating their delicious “home-made slow soul food” such as their vegan soup and famous teriyaki burger (so good!)
You can follow them on their blog bonitacafesocialclub.wordpress.com
Khap kuhn maak, kah to Neung & K for having me these last couple of days. I will miss you so so very much 🙏🏼 (at Bonita Cafe And Social Club)
Enjoy the simple things ❤️ (at Bonita Cafe And Social Club)
Erawan Shrine, Bangkok – On August 17, 2015 a bomb exploded near this shrine, killing 20 people and injuring over 100 more. It was deeply saddening to hear such tragic news about a city that is very dear to me. #strongertogetherBKK – thinking of the victims and their families (at Erawan Shrine)
Congratulations to my dear friends Cindy & Bes in being brand new business owners! Kap khun maak kah for inviting me to your new restaurant 🙏🏼 The food was so delicious (aloi maak!) If you’re ever in #Bangkok please visit Baan Yaa Maew off BTS Punnawithi for a cozy afternoon, to sip on some lemon grass water & eat GOOD food I was treated to pad thai kung, kao soi gai (one of my favorite Thai dishes ever!), shrimp spring rolls, and panden noodles for dessert (coconut milk errthng)
Good luck to you both, the space is wonderful and I wish you much success in your new business! ❤️
Coffee shops in #Bangkok ❤️ (at True Urban Park (Paragon))
My favorite person at Wat Pho Jae market, Pesah ❤️ Coming back to where I once lived in a little corner of Samut Sakhon, Thailand has me feeling my feelings. It was so wonderful to see two of my favorite people in the world, Ms. Khim and Ms. Liang, as well as the school staff and some of my little students, too. I also returned to the market I ate at every night. I’m so glad Pesah was there. I hoped to see her to say hello and get some of her delicious som tum & kao gniaow (spicy papaya salad & sticky rice), which is my favorite Thai food and what I once proudly lived off of. Aloi mak! (Very delicious!) My life in Thailand has been over for sixteen months now, and since then I’ve had a backseat feeling of “inbetweenness.” I returned home to “get on with my life” and push more of my goals, but for a long time I felt like I left a little bit of my happy here. Now that I’m back, I can finally say with so much joy that I feel like I’ve gotten closure. I can accept that I will always miss Thailand and what was once my life/routine here, but I wouldn’t change where I’m at for where I’ve been. “Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” So much goodness has happened in between now and the last time I was here. And most importantly, it’s clear to me that I didn’t leave my happy here. My happy has been with me.
Okay, well that’s some of what happened on this rainy Wednesday in Thailand. And now, I’m going to deeply enjoy this som tum by my lovely Pesah. Happy happy. (at Thailand)
Thailand Creative & Design Center, Bangkok – A shared working space for students, tech lovers, designers, thinkers, makers, artists, entrepreneurs and freelancers to get inspired. Another reason to love #Bangkok. (at TCDC - Thailand Creative and Design Center)
Gahh feeling like life is beautiful! (at Cheow Lan Lake, Khao Sok National Park)
Limestone Lake, Khao Sok – I met a girl from Austria, Jessi, who has been staying here for two months. After only two days, I think I can understand why she hasn’t left. Life is quiet, peaceful, and unlike any other corner of the world I’ve ever been to. Rooted to their rainforest, the Thai people who live here are in tune with every bit of nature, from the smallest animal to the clouds carrying rain. No tourists, just family. This is the most Thai I’ve used in the past week. And, regardless of such a short stay, saying goodbye was bittersweet. (at Khao Sok National Park)
Koh Phi Phi – Final hours in paradise #Thailand (at Tohko Beach Resort - Phi Phi Island)
Some days are for doing nothing. Welcome to rainy season in Southeast Asia #Thailand (at Tohko Beach Resort - Phi Phi Island)
Pileh Bay, Koh Phi Phi Leh – Nature wearing all of my colors. (at Phi Phi Islands)
I'm obsessed with this little jungalow
It rained on and off today but the water’s still warm 🙏🏼 #Thailand #Krabi #Railay #TravelDeeper #MyTinyAtlas #VSCOcam #PassionPassport #SonyA6000 (at Railay Beach)
Enjoying a little bit of jungle in Thailand 🌿 This next week will be the last bit of leisure before heading back to start working on something I’m very excited about. So happy to be here. (at Krabi, Thailand)
Erawan Waterfalls, Kanchanaburi –One of the places I missed out on while I was living in Thailand, but I am so glad I got to go hike it this time around. I had a hard time getting in the water at first because of the skin-sucking fish that live in it (you know, the ones you’ve heard about in Thai foot spas), but the weather is SO hot and HUMID out here and the water too turquoise to say no so I had to suck it up and go! (If you don’t want the fish to suck your body just keep swimming!) These are the beautiful turquoise waters of the 3rd tier of waterfalls (out of 7). So amazingly gorgeous! #Thailand #Kanchanaburi #ErawanWaterfalls #TravelDeeper #MyTinyAtlas #VSCOcam #PassionPassport #SonyA6000 (at Erawan National Park)
