porque yo no sé de qué hablan mis dibujos, ni sé de qué hablan mis canciones, pero estoy seguro de que hablan de lo mismo”.
when i go off about anti-recovery attitudes, let me be clear. you can’t recover from autism. you might not be able to just poof your ptsd away. recovery isnt about those things.
recovery isnt being perfect. recovery isn’t being neurotypical. recovery is the process and way you learn to deal with things in a healthy way. its about coping. its about learning how to deal with thought patterns that arent conducive to you being your best you.
when i say that tumblr is anti-recovery, im going off about the idea that its normal to accept you’ll always suffer in the way you have. you can always be healthier. you can always fight against the brain shit that makes you miserable, and you might lose sometimes, but you cant possibly have someones best interests at heart when you tell them this is how they’ll always be.
Yes, we were looking at each other Yes, we knew each other very well Yes, we had made love with each other many times Yes, we had heard music together Yes, we had gone to the sea together Yes, we had cooked and eaten together Yes, we had laughed often day and night Yes, we fought violence and knew violence Yes, we hated the inner and outer oppression Yes, that day we were looking at each other Yes, we saw the sunlight pouring down Yes, the corner of the table was between us Yes, our eyes saw each other’s eyes Yes, our mouths saw each other’s mouths Yes, our breasts saw each other’s breasts Yes, our bodies entire saw each other Yes, it was beginning in each Yes, it threw waves across our lives Yes, the pulses were becoming very strong Yes, the beating became very delicate Yes, the calling the arousal Yes, the arriving the coming Yes, there it was for both entire Yes, we were looking at each other

Jeff Buckley performs live at Tower Records on December 16, 1994 in New York.
“I first became aware of the power of Jeff Buckley’s live performances when I saw him do an in-store concert at the East Village Tower Records in December 1994. It was a freezing night, one of those nights when people’s noses turn to radishes and their eyes blast open in fixed gazes of shock, and yet there we all were, waiting at midnight to be granted access into the store, shuffling around and talking to the nearest person to keep our mouths warm. The concert was short but worth the wait. I managed to get a spot somewhere between the Vs and the Ws, not too far from the stage. Buckley, of course, was mesmerizing. He wore a white t-shirt, and his hair was longish, falling into his face—very sexy indeed. A denizen of the East Village at the time, he joked about how weird it was to play where he shopped (it was even weirder for me that I shopped where he shopped). Most of the songs played that night were from his then-new album, Grace, which I had somehow managed to learn all the lyrics to despite only having owned the album for a few weeks.” -Jody Beth Rosen, A Brief Memoir Of An Early Buckley In-Store Appearance
“Not all attuned to those aspects of their sexual fantasies that irrevocably link them to collective white racist domination, they believe their desire for contact represents a progressive change in [attitude].
bell hooks: “Eating the Other”(pages: 368-369).
SUSIE: It’s known that ignorance is the main cause of cultural appropriation. Those who participate often do not view their behavior as racist, harmful, dehumanizing, annoying, insensitive, and problematic. (No one is safe from participating in harmful and problematic behavior. We’re all problematic. Every single one of us.)
Here’s the thing: one can dedicate time to unlearning harmful and racist behavior. It may take time, but it’s possible. When someone tells you ‘you are being racist’ it is then up to you to change your behavior. Ignorance no longer plays a part in your behavior because once someone has made it known publicly about your actions, you are aware of what you’re doing. Continuing to do so is no longer a type ignorance, but unabashed racism.
This racist cycle can only be broken by the proactive unlearning of racist behavior, understanding differences, and willingness to listen. Willingness to forgive yourself and apologize to those hurt (also realizing that not everyone will forgive you for your actions and yes it’s because of your insensitive actions. it’s a too bad so sad kinda world)
Hey folks! No one stays the same. As humans we grow and we change. Personally, who I was four years ago is NOT who I am today. In fact, current me would have probably made a call out post about past me.
