“Since seeing the musical back on opening night, I’ve actually really wanted to watch the film adaptation of Les Miserables.”

“Well damn, looks like you’ll just have to hog all that greatness for yourself, Waves.” She teased, smiling at her. But she could sense the change in her friend, knew the time for joking was paused for now, so instead she just tightened her arm around her, rubbing her hand gently up and down her arm. Out of everyone in her life, maybe even everyone in the world, Waverley was the one she felt most attuned to. They both knew what it was like to be orphans, to have traumas in their past that sometimes just overtook everything. They’d both said on multiple occasions that they wished they’d been in the same orphanage. If they had been..maybe Gen could have had a real family. Maybe she would have known what it was like to have parents.
At least she had siblings. Waverley and Solenn, they were her sisters. They were as close as she’d ever get to having an actual family.
“Hey, that’s alright. It’s okay to not know…but it’s also okay if you do know. I mean..some people find the one they want to be with an just..know. A man I work with at the restaurant claimed his sub within a week less than a month of meeting her, and they’ve been together for years, about to have a kid. Sometimes..when you know you just..know. There’s no one timeline to these things.”
When Waverley mentioned the anniversary she tightened her hold around the other girl and just nodded. Every year she made sure to be there. There was no way she’d let Waverley go through it alone–no matter how hard she tried to push them away. “I guess we’ll see.” she murmured, turning to press a kiss to her friend’s hair and hugging her other arm around her. “Even if she’s not there, you know we will be.”
Right after the fire, Waverley had shut down almost completely. It had taken her years to start to open up again and let others passed the walls she’d constructed. Some people were easier to let through, like her brother Ivan because obviously he knew exactly what the brunette was dealing with. Or Genny because she could relate to childhood trauma and the whole orphan thing. It was much easier to open up to her too. The dancer had always found her fellow submissive easy to talk to. Something about Gen’s presence made her calm enough to delve into the more traumatic parts of her memories. There was a connection there she’d wished she found earlier in life. If she’d known about Gen sooner, she would’ve annoyed the hell out of her foster parents until they took in the other girl as well. Sometimes she wished she could go back in time and make that so... Actually, she wished she could go back in time and prevent the fire in the first place. Or ensure her parents weren’t home when it happened. And then she’d annoy the hell out of her birth parents until they went to the orphanage and took in Genny... But that was all in the past now. There was no changing how things turned out. At least she met Gen now and was given the sister she always wanted. After all, blood doesn’t make a family.
She let out a shaky breath, the mere mention of the upcoming anniversary starting to trigger her anxiety. Feeling a traitorous tear start to course down her cheek, she quickly wiped it away in hopes that her friend wouldn’t notice before burying her face into her friend’s shoulder, allowing her arms to wrap around the other’s frame. “I-I really want her to be there. I want her to stay.” There had been a few Dom/mes Waverley had been with over the years who she’d been seeing around the time leading up the anniversary; and she’d immediately started trying everything in her power to push them away before it got too close to the dreaded date. After having so many leave once they saw how much of a mess she became, she began to do whatever it took to save herself from that additional pain during an already painful couple of days. So the fact she actively wanted Nic to stick around and be there over the anniversary spoke volumes. In a way, it answered Gen’s previous questions without outright answering them.

Kyle was now starting to understand why she said what she said about not knowing a lot about the nightlife of Vannes. Hearing that she was the principal dancers of the ballet company, it made a lot of sense. “I get it now, you are on a strict schedule so you wouldn’t drink a lot, or smoke, hence the no lighter.” He smirked and then rose his brow, “Oh, so you have a girlfriend, that’s cool. I wouldn’t mind if she came along unless you were thinking more of this being a date night, then I will step back. I am no one’s third wheel.” He chuckled and knew that if they didn’t take him, he would find his way there one way or the other.
Her being a principal dancer was only part of the reason Waverley didn’t drink a lot and never smoked. Honestly, she never got much enjoyment out of drinking; and she really only had a taste for wine. Plus the one time she got incredibly wasted, she’d gone and drunkenly gotten herself a piercing (which she actually didn’t regret, but still). And then smoking... Well her aversion to fire made her freak out over the mere concept of lighting a cigarette. Though even if she didn’t have the aversion to fire, she wasn’t about to destroy her lungs all for the sake of looking cool. She already had enough to deal with. “Well I was thinking more along the lines of a date; though I’m thinking it might not be a bad idea to check out J2 before I ask her to dinner... After all, it’s probably best to ensure the restaurant lives up to all the hype.” Plus she was starting to feel a tad peckish. And from what she knew, J2 wasn’t far from their current location. Maybe popping in for a quick bite would be a good idea.

Waverley and some of the other dancers at the National Theatre thought it would be a fun idea to decorate old Pointe shoes like Easter eggs instead of hard boiling and decorating real eggs... So that’s what they did!
No chicks were harmed in the making of these Easter shoes 🐣🐣🐣

“Yea,” Morgan agreed in a soft voice. As much as she loved her work and the people she tried to help, it so often left the submissive in a vulnerable spot in the event things went poorly. “Alright, to the ice cream and its magic powers.” She couldn’t help but chuckle softly. These were the sorts of things she would say to a child and now a very kind complete stranger was helping her out. “Morgan, the name of the crying woman who is very grateful for your kindness,” she returned. As they arrived to the cart, she looked over the flavors. Since it wasn’t a storefront, there wasn’t a plethora of options but still listed some interesting combinations. “I think… I could go for the coffee chocolate chip one,” she determined.
"Pleasure to meet you, Morgan.” Waverley offered the woman a warm smile before leading the pair in the direction of the ice cream cart. It wasn’t that far of a walk from the bench they had just been sat on; so they reached the cart in no time. Looking over the small flavor selection, the brunette was initially disappointed as she didn’t see anything she could have. Then she noticed one non-dairy flavor; and her face lit up. “A cup of the orange sorbet for me, please.” She told the man behind the cart. It wasn’t one of her go-to flavors; but given it was the only option she could have, she was going to settle for it. Plus orange on a nice sunny day was always refreshing.

Listening to her suggestions, Julien nodded and made a mental list. It was simple enough. Non-perishable food items would definitely be a must. Something that would sustain people until they were able to cook again. “I’d really like to get some things while here so that they can be donated. If you truly don’t mind, of course. I’m not trying to burden you with a lot.” He then quickly added, “And I can go with you so you’re not having to carry it all, when I’m sure you weren’t expecting having to take a whole load of extra supplies. I really don’t mind going with you at all.” In fact, he’d likely feel more comfortable offering his help in carrying anything that was going to be donated. He didn’t want her to think he was selfish in leaving her to handle all of the items. He’d expressed interest in helping how he could, and would follow through with it.
"You’re not a burden at all, Sir.” In fact, Waverley thought the man to be quite the opposite. Willing to stop what one was doing in favor of helping those in need was never a burden. The brunette didn’t mind bringing more items to the shelter. In fact, she actually really liked the mere thought of that. The more that was donated, the more displaced families they’d be able to help. “And I’d love it if you’d come with me... I may be stronger than I look; but even then, I’d still rather not risk struggle carrying everything into the shelter.” Knowing her luck, she’d end up dropping a box of canned goods and have to deliver a bunch of dented spinach tins while hobbling on her bruised toe (not that such a situation had ever happened before...)
Art Appreciation || Waverley & Leo

Leo considered her question for a moment before answering. What were some other interests. There was always reading, and he’d collected plenty of books over the years as well. He enjoyed watching various performing arts, but he couldn’t very well collect those things. There was always music, as well, but he was less likely to collect music than those who absolutely loved it more than anything else. “Honestly? I think out of all the things I enjoy, probably books. Then again, I’ve amassed quite the collection of those, as well, over the years. Not to mention that I have books in various languages that I know how to speak well. If I keep that up, I’m afraid I’ll have to start storing things in multiple locations, somehow.” He considered taking some things to the family estate that had been left to him after his parents had passed away, but he didn’t like the idea of separating himself from his collections. Not to mention, he still didn’t completely see the estate as his own despite being the only son of two nobles whom had done well for themselves. “Then, since you know an art gallery that shows local artists, maybe you can show it to me sometime.”
Now books was another topic Waverley could discuss for days. Actually, it was a topic she enjoyed far much more than art. Besides ballet, books were her world. As a young child, her parents had acquired quite the library in the Richelieu Manor; and she remembered sitting in one of the oversized armchairs reading until her heart’s content. It’s what fostered her love of books; and while that dwindled briefly after the fire, she found her love of books again much faster than her love for ballet. Her foster parents also had an in-home library; and she’d spent much time there over the years, falling in love with everything from fairytales to epic poems to the Victorian classics to modern-day dystopian novels. As long as a book was well written and contained a well thought out plot and well developed characters, she’d probably enjoy it. “Oh I love books!” She couldn’t really contain her excitement. “I’ve actually quite the collection myself; though I can’t say I’ve acquired many books in foreign languages.” She chuckled. Most of her books were in French. Then she had a good deal in English. And just a handful in Latin because they looked so lovely, even if she couldn’t read them just yet. “What sorts of books do you enjoy reading?” The topic of books almost completely drew her away from their prior topic of art. It wasn’t until the mention of the art gallery once more that she even recalled what they’d just been discussing moments ago. “Oh, I could definitely show you the gallery next time there’s a display of local artists.”

The thing about this is, you can barely see their muscles straining from effort. The effort to keep each other and themselves balanced, definitely, but that guy’s hand is barely shaking. The amount of training and strength and balance to go into this is fucking insane.
