There is no gentle way to explain this. And you all value me for my honesty. So I'll get to the point. Over the past few months, each one of you has been kidnapped and replaced by an impostor in the Senate. You're missing memories between then and now, but you'll be able to confirm this easily enough. There's other ways to fool people. They were using illusions. Images projected over the real people they were underneath. We already exposed them using Leechings.

I... don't know. Um.
My eyes went back to being brown after I became part of the Oathpact, but that's a bit of an extreme step.
I think there are eyedrops that will make your eyes look darker for a few hours at a time, and the lighter color fades after about a day.
... I need to not put that idea in Max's head. Steris worries, too. *fondly* She just makes a lot of contingency plans.
Hard to not try to be fifteen steps ahead sometimes.
It can be useful. It can also hinder you because you get locked into a plan and don't leave yourself room to improvise if you need to.
... and you need to improvise all the time with kids, I've learned.

You can just have guns even if you're not shooting them. They're nice.
Oh, I know that, it's just it wouldn't feel right borrowing one of yours if I didn't actually have need for it. Guns are a deeply personal thing. You gotta get the grip right, the right trigger pull, the sights set to your preference, you know. Everything needs to be where you can reach it.
Do you have any idea how long it took to find a half-decent gunsmith in the roughs? Half of them wouldn't know how to tune a gun to a client's preference if you hit them in the face with the specs!
*nods along to her words solemnly* You're very right. Vindication's even got a safety that can only be removed with Allomancy. Makes me feel a lot safer that no one else is going to try to use her against me. She's mine. *he pats the gun at his hip fondly*
... oh, believe me, I know the pain. Before I met Ranette, I didn't even know what a good gun could feel like! And then she was all crotchety and needed all that convincing to make me some. Unfortunately for the Roughs, she just had to move to the city once we started getting electricity going here.
