I’m a huge dreamer. I do what I believe in and do whatever I have to to get there. Ever since I was old enough to know what it really means to dream, Martin Luther King Jr. has been my inspiration. The passion and progress made by this man is often forgotten and thought of as a day off work or school. I wanted to reflect on that day in August 1963 and the amazing progress this man made for all of us when delivering that speech. Love others, help someone when you can, and never forget to dream.

“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” is how I think of the Apollo 11 moon landing which took place on July 20, 1969. What interests me most about that statement and the event is the question, “Have we kept stride with that ‘giant leap’ through the subsequent years?” In many ways we have, in other ways we have not but the raw inspiration generated from witnessing an event like that in person will forever interest me.

I didn’t get into LCD Soundsystem until they were in their final year of touring. I have so much respect for James Murphy walking away from fame at the height of his career, but I would have loved to see his final performance with that band. Maybe there’s even something in there that gives me hope that even in your late 30’s you can create something as great as LCD Soundsystem.
