Even in the darkest night, if you strike a match, the shadows will flee. This is a law of nature; the darkness yields to the light, no matter how small the flame.

Outreach Ledger - 2/15/19
Time: 7:30PM
Subject: Caravan - Inbound (Three Carts)
Contents: Cart One: Masonry stone (five crates), stone tile (ten crates), stone shingle (ten crates). Cart Two: Wood planks (thirty 1Ⲡx 6Ⲡplanks). Cart Three: Fertilizer (four 20lb bags), topsoil (four 20lb bags), mulch (four 20lb bags).
Delivered From: Seilune Astrande (Outreach Partner)
Received By: Altherei Darkwind
Notes:
Tonight we received our first inbound caravan to Haven. Kalomar gave me enough heads-up that I was able to largely finish clearing out broken and useless items from the shelterâs first floor so that we may store the goods and supplies there in the meantime.
The caravan was met by the following: Feralar, Jialian, Cuan, Murigen, Tsirael, and one I did not immediately recognize- though later learned her name is Evelandrya (and she has since signed on with the Outreach with our Security division). The team was lead by our Head of Security, Kalomar. It made a largely uneventful journey up to Haven through the northern portion of the Western Plaguelands. All the goods arrived undamaged, though some were a bit wet from the surprise downpour and thunderstorm the evening brought with it.
The supplies brought will be made use of in the shelter, and at a good time too. Weâll be able to make further progress on repairing the floors and sides, as well as the roof if the weather favors us in the coming days. The soil, mulch, and fertilizer will be of good use to our groundskeeping team. I will try and move what I can into the storeroom in the shelter tomorrow, no doubt others will be able to assist as they are able, as well.

*passes you whiskey* feel the burn đ
Wooden floorboards warped and creaked under her feet as she moved through the ruined building. It was as holy a space now as it had been when first built, though she was sure âholyâ wasnât the intention of it. There were no prayer nooks, no altars or shrines â but it was, all the same. Each of the now ruined planks that made up the floor had been laid and secured by someone with hopes and dreams of a better, safe life. Hearth stones had been stacked and a chimney made to keep the past occupants warm, dry, and fed. People had lived here, maybe loved here, and this place had become a memorial to the time they had put in to protect themselves from nature.
The people, however, had long been gone; whether through diaspora or violent means was hard to tell. Here in the Plaguelands it could be either. She had traveled through small hamlets like this one in the Second War. Places built by the families on the surrounding farmsteads so they could have spaces to gather and govern. The Humans here had been as bright and welcoming as they were wary. Most of them had never seen her kind before, though her presence had been softened by the boisterous men and women she was travelling south with. They managed to protect those this far north from the Orcs, but nobody expected the tainted grain in the peace that followed. Survivors or not, the Scourge took everything from those who lived here.
Lynâs fingers traced the wood-grain of one of the moldering support beams that somehow, miraculously, still kept the second floor supported. The fading light of the day shone through the holes and cracks above, illuminating the dust motes sheâd disturbed in her reverie. Nature, in the end, was reclaiming what had been taken from it. Soft moss grew in a corner, weeds and grass peaked through holes in the walls. The wood was rotting, everywhere it had been used and neglected. There was no greater power to believe in than this â that nature would always triumph. This place had become a shrine to that concept in its gentle decay. As unintentionally holy now in the present as it had been in the past.
Soft voices filtered in from outside; none of the other Outreach members had yet braved the building this evening, and that was fine with her. Their work would be cut out for them here as they once again sought to push nature back. They all had their hopes and dreams of creating a space to gather, a space to give people better and safer lives. She could hear the laughter of children long gone, only memories now, mixed in with the bright and welcoming tones of those here now. This place, this Haven, would be as holy in the future as it ever was.
The runes on her hands and across her chest glowed faintly in the gloaming that had crept in from every side. She had a purpose here. Not as a builder, not as a surgeon, not as a baker or a gardener or a smith. The question had cut through over everything else, clear and bright as day. Who could help consecrate this place? She stepped out through the door, careful of the loose steps, pushed along by the force that had bound her back to this plane.
Gearing up for big things!
We at Waylight Outreach hope everyone has had a wonderful and relaxing holiday season so far! We know weâve been a bit quiet since our Potluck, but weâve got big plans in the pipe for the new year that we canât wait to share!
Waylight Outreach Winter Potluck 2018
@altherei and the @waylight-outreach hosted their Winter Potluck this evening in Hearthglen and it was a huge success! I had a wonderful time doing some cross faction roleplay and getting to know new people. I want to thank Altherei, Kalomar, and everyone else for such a lovely time and I look forward to the next event thatâs hosted!
More screenshots under the cut!Â

Awesome screenshots, thank you for capturing them!
Thank You!
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to our Winter Potluck last night! We had an amazing turnout from both factions, and chatted and feasted well into the night! Weâll be a bit absent during these next couple weeks due to the holidays, but you can expect a lot of neat things coming in the pipe for 2019.
Until then, everyone have a safe and happy holiday!

Everyone is encouraged to attend Waylight Outreachâs first official open event!
As you can see, itâs our first annual Winter Potluck! While we may be a relief work organization that focuses on direct aid to the displaced, injured, and any looking to get away from the constant war, we believe that bridging the social and cultural barriers that exist between the races and factions is another way to help promote and bring peace to Azeroth. Below the read-more is a picture of where the tavern is in Hearthglen, and more information about the event!

Coming up this Weds- make sure you bring a dish! :D
Tomorrow!
Tonight, tonight! Come by and meet folks from across faction lines, share your culture and break down barriers with delicious food! Altherei will be available to bring in new folks as well, so if youâre interested in volunteering with the Outreach tonightâs as good a night as any!
Melisande had tried. Really and truly tried. But after three failed attempts at creating something palatable for her newfound friends, she had to accept that while she may have many talents, cooking and baking were not chief among them.
But sandwiches? Beautiful ones stacked with warm, hearty ingredients? She was good at that. The ever-increasing requests for her nigh-daily sandwich deliveries proved as much.Â
Perhaps it wasnât conventional, and it certainly wasnât traditional to the Sinâdorei palate, but neither of those seemed quite as important as everyone walking away sated and cheered.
Besides, they were easy enough to carry around while one conversed and made acquaintances, right?
She planned three heaping platters with the aid of the tavernâs cellar and pantry, calculating the price of her ingredients and depositing the coins on Vynâs desk, along with a note.
See you at the potluck Wednesday night, I hope. Just a repayment for what Iâm bringing - too late to place a proper ingredients order now, so I hope this will suffice.
