The cold stillness of a January morning. Dodging runners clicking their watches as they leave the parking lot. It’s cold, I said that right? Fumbling with a tripod, searching for the spot, finding it and now two bank fisher people come ambling along and decide the spot they want to cast their cold dead lures into the lake is in my frame. Ugh, with all fairness it is a pretty wide angle … they would have to amble on down another 30 yards to be out of my shot. One of the anglers decides this is not the spot where fish reside and ambles on down the shore line. I’m sure it had nothing to do with me mumbling loudly like an insane person. Finally settled. Waiting for the moment that the sun will make its appearance. Such a temperamental actor. Are the clouds right? Where’s my spot? Geez. Come on with it. It’s getting colder. Then it decides to grace the stage and it’s all worth it. Millions of crazy people in the world are snapping photos of the fiery orb. I enjoyed sitting outside for a couple of hours this morning. Even though I was not happy with very many of my attempts to adequately cover this historic event… I was glad that I could just experience the moment.
