Just realized I hadn't yet posted this guy on here, everyone say hello to replica Boober!

I'm really happy with how this build turned out, though I am hoping to one day come back to him and tweak some things for accuracy. Going forward I’ll be balancing out the replicas with more original concept puppets, that way I can practice going through the design process from start to finish. I had a really wonderful time bringing him with me to both dragoncon and the fraggles forever panel at the center for puppetry arts in Atlanta!

Somewhat related to all that, I’d like to note that while I’ll still be posting here every once in a while, I’m shifting my focus towards my instagram, just due to the fact that I’ve really come to love the puppetry community on there.

Came to me in a dream

Here’s that big project I’ve been talking about, this is Thimble, my test fan-fraggle! A couple months ago I challenged myself to create the best puppet I could using mostly just the materials I could get from regular craftstores.

I’m now working on a replica of Boober fraggle with a much higher materials budget (yay for being able to hide seams!). I’m hoping to get him done before the end of the fraggle rock exhibit up in atlanta, as it would be cool to bring him up there for a direct comparison!

Drew figment in the futureport82 recreation of the original imageworks magic pallete, simplistic art programs just hit different. No undo, no layers, no line variation, 11 colors, and buttons next to the colors that instantly nuke the drawing if you accidentally click them. I think it builds character.

My first adventure in puppet building, using a very slightly modified version of the shark pattern from puppetnerd.com. This might become a habit, who needs money anyway

I probably should stop going this hard on high school projects (we were supposed to make paper bag puppets lol) but it’s a good way to slip in projects I actually want to do
