Marlize is not unfamiliar with being one of the smartest people in the room. She'd just like to believe that the leader of this whole crusade would know how to make a plan that isn't held together with popsicle sticks and glue.

She never should've joined in on this little quest. She should've stayed in Central City, stayed put with Clifford and their plans to enlighten the world. But the tantalizing lure of legacy got the better of her. And, with the comfort of knowing she could be dropped off at the very moment she left, she took the bait.

She figured, at the very least, the experience could aid their plan. If a ship like the Waverider can exist, then their endeavors to make humanity forget the draw of technology must not come to fruition. This way, she can learn where they go wrong. She can ensure it doesn't happen again.

Rip Hunter is in the pursuit of a noble endeavor. One she herself can understand. If someone harmed her husband, she'd stop at nothing to make them pay for it. He did, however, fail to mention at the start that this entire journey is unsanctioned. And that not a single person aboard this ship is notable to any degree in 2166. They're all just a bunch of nobodies. They lived, they died, and the world forgot about them.

Marlize doesn't enjoy being made a fool of. Especially when she has to keep cleaning up this Captain's mess.
