Women are bearing the brunt of the vicious war in Sudan. The world should not look away.

Sudanese women are bearing the brunt of the vicious war that began in mid-April between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). More than six million people have been displaced since the new war erupted including an estimated 105,000 women who are currently pregnant, according to the United Nations. Of the 1.2 million who have fled to neighbouring countries, nearly nine in 10 are women and children. The healthcare system in Sudan is in a perilous state – 70 to 80 percent of hospitals in conflict areas are not operational – with devastating consequences for women in need of maternal health medicines.

I've been trying to gather my thoughts on this since I saw it this morning, but I genuinely cannot find the words to describe the disgust I felt watching these criminals laugh as they talk about raping women and trapping men behind fences before slaughtering them.

This is the reality of settler colonialism. This is the reality of Palestine. The violence used to create the state of Israel is the violence that's still being used today to maintain it, though they've found ways to rebrand in terms of "self-defense" and a "right to safety." That there are people willing to defend these crimes is abhorrent. That there are (other settler colonialist) countries claiming that these crimes never happened, when we have confessions from those who committed them in front of our faces, is as unsurprising as it is disgusting.

Do not let them get away with it. Do not let the story of Tantura and other villages (eg Deir Yassin) go unheard. Raise your voice, fight for Palestinian liberation, and do not stop until Palestine is free.

The IOF abducted these men to humiliate them, and have since taken them to an undisclosed area. I saw someone on X say they were murdered. They're calling these Palestinian men terrorists -saying they were responsible for October 7th. But we already know that's false and have had people who already recognize these men/have said most were kidnapped from a UN shelter:

As of today (Nov. 26), three Palestinian men in Vermont have been shot and are in critical condition. "Their crime? Wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh." On Oct. 14, Wadea Al-Fayoume, a 6 year old Palestinian child, was murdered and his mother stabbed by their landlord in Illinois because they were Muslim. On Oct. 28, Dr. Talat Jehan Khan, a Pakistani-American Muslim, was murdered outside her apartment in Texas.

These hate crimes and others like them are the direct result of the U.S. government and media's complicity in the genocide of Palestinians that Israel is carrying out. The blood is on their hands as much as it is the individual perpetrator's.
