Had always thought myself as gryff. But pottermore sent me to ravenclaw. But as I dig deeper, I can see why. I'm curious, imaginative and open-minded. Although I can still feel my gryff because i have strong morals and i follow my heart. Crisis. Help

Well, no one knows you beter than yourself, and since you seem to it into both of the houses I would recommend you to do some extra research and then I think the best thing would be to follow your heart (oh my god how cheesy did that sound?) and think of where you feel like you belong, which house feels like home. I know it’s hard, but good luck!

I love LOVE that Ravenclaw represents, among other things, intelligence. I was reading about the riddles on buzzfeed and I... I guess that to me Ravenclaw represents intelligence in the way that the people from this house can give a rationalized answer that others wouldn't have thought of and when others go through their answers they realize that they make sense and there's a whole complex thinking process there. That's why they're seen as the intelligent ones, because they THINK not MEMORIZE.

Hmm, you're probably right. I hope they will see it as a fun thing and maybe see this as well, so they won't doubt. I guess at some point we've all doubted where we actually belong, but I don't want anyone to do that more than necessary =( Thanks for your input!

Personally I'd like to think that Ravenclaws get into their common rooms, not by getting the correct or logical answer but the one that's probably creative or backed up with some sort of reasoning that may not even apply to everyone, you know? I don't think you need knowledge to get into the common room, I think you need imagination, creativity or just plain ol' willpower :)

Yeah, well I have a theory that I have weitten about before, but I’ll just write shortly about lt again. I like to think that the eagle knocker is a bit like the sorting hat, so when you put your hand on it, it can see into your mind. And then it would ask a riddle that it knew that the person could answer BUT it would pick the riddle so that the Ravenclaw would have to open their mind just a little more, and think outside the box just a little more, to get it. Like, it would ask you a riddle that would always evolve your way of thinking, and making you use your creativity a little more, and also giving you a bigger will to learn.But if it wasn’t a Ravenclaw that touched it, it could see that and ask a riddle way to hard for that person, so they wouldn’t get in. That would explain why none except Ravenclaws had gotten in there for so long. So when McGonagall knocked, it felt who it was and decided to let her in.

That’s my headcanon. And the riddles BuzzFeed had were more like wordgames so sometimes those kind of riddles might’ve been asked, but I think most of the time not.

Those are the kind of posts that make Ravenclaws feel inadequate and stupid when they can't get it right, and question their house type and get really upset.

I see what you mean, and I’m sorry if it made anyone feel that way.But I mean, it’s not that deep (it’s Buzzfeed soo haha), and that “quiz” is just a fun thing. So it’s no big thing, I wouldn’t even take it serious.And I hope you noticed that I didn’t write “test yourself and see if you are a Ravenclaw or not” I wrote “test yourself and see what kind of Ravenclaw you are”, so even if you are bad at riddles (I’m not super good at them) you can of course still be a Ravenclaw.You don’t have to be book smart or good at riddles to be a Ravenclaw, and I don’t even think those are the kind of riddles that would be asked.And I know for sure that I would probably be standing clueless in front of the door a lot of times. So I hope I didn’t make people feel bad, again you can suck at riddles and still be a Ravenclaw through and through, always remember that.

test yourself and see if you are the kind of ravenclaw that would easily get into the common room or if you are the kind that probably would be late to most of your classes because you couldn’t get in and grab your stuff
