i guess now is actually a good time for some bg information on scotty. his family were german refugees, and his mother and father disappeared after joy started being distributed to people in Wellington. he grew up with Ollie as a parental figure but honestly took better care of Ollie than Ollie did for him. Yes he knew Arthur fleetingly as kids but he doesn't remember him.
