When you put a t-shirt away is it better to hang it up in a wardrobe or fold it into a drawer?

When we’re talking about hanging vs folding t-shirts it’s something which crops up from time to time. What’s the best way of storing your t-shirts?

If you have a lot of drawers it may be preferable to store your t-shirts flat and folded. This means that they won’t get stretched like they would on a hanger.

But if you’ve got lots of hanging space like most people, hanging up your shirts may be preferable.

As long as they are light and on a sturdy hanger, they should not get stretched out very much if at all. T-shirts don’t weigh as much as a jumper, so any stretching should be at a minimum.

Different Types T-Shirt Printing

There’s so many different types of t-shirt printing, so what is the best?

It really depends on a few things, including budget, number of t-shirts printing and the style and quality of the print.

A few different styles include screen printing, DTG aka Direct to Garment and T-Shirt vinyl.

We’ve looked at different types of t-shirt printing and it mostly comes down to how you want the print to feel, as well as the volume of shirts you’re printing.

Screenprinting is really not suitable for printing less than 20 t-shirts. This is because the time it takes to set up the screen. Vinyl printing is great for small runs or when you need to make one-off personalisations on shirts such as stag or hen shirts for name printing.

DTG means Direct to Garment, and it’s literally printing onto the shirt as you’d have guessed. This can be good for both short and long runs, but printing each shirt can take some time.

The Best Fabric For T-Shirts

T-shirts are made out of different fabrics, from cotton to polyester and a mix of them both. Which is the best material?

The weight of t-shirts is not the same. You can get heavyweight, midweight and lightweight t-shirts, so which is best?

Lightweight tees usually weigh 100g - 160g

Midweight tees usually weigh 160g - 190g

Heavyweight tees usually weigh 190g - over 210g

It all comes down to personal preference which t-shirt weights are best. It’s not a case where the heaviest is the best. A light t-shirt which is good quality may be more preferable in the hot summer months.
