I wanted to give up the idea I had any control. Shake things up. To be saved by chaos. To see if I could cope, I wanted to force myself to grow again. To explode my comfort zone.

breathe color back into my life so that upon exhale iridescent words flow from my lungs and expel into the atmosphere.

Deadbolt.
Today marks the thirteenth consecutive day that I have worked. I believe it must be awakening a yearning to go 'home...And I've always used that term loosely. Last night my dreams lead me to a hollow town full of fair weather friends who have turned into ghostly skeletons. Unlike then, they now captivate an entire fragment of my mind. They knock and explore on closed doors inside my head, watching me from the inside out. Ghosts haunt me because I've forgotten the world still turns in a place 1,800 miles away. Leaving me feeling empty after all this time. I felt selfish for installing deadbolts and a system of alarms- but that's what we call self preservation.
Light peaking through pieces of broken clouds. Illuminating grassy portions of the mountain range, while overhead dark stormy skies brew near the peak of the summit. A idle moment capturing the definition of calm before the storm, and it is well with my soul.
