as someone who really does love physical media, i do want to say before anyone replys or says anything like "piracy is better!" or "just pirate lol" like, thats not the point. because
its not about just watching/enjoying the media, its about the activity of puting something in a player and listening to the thing.
but also its being able to enjoy something while the internet is down, the fact that we rely on the internet so much for a lot of our day to day existance is kind of bad. im not saying the internet its self is bad, but the fact that our lives are so connected to it that now we can be spied on so easily is terrible. everything has to be smart and stuff
i just like being able to appricate something on my shelf, do i watch it every day, or even every year? no, but i dont have to have a company go "oh so you watched shrek?? so you really must like stuff like shrek then huh." and then some algorithm shoves childrens movies to me. i want to have more choices about what i watch, not having it shoved in front of my eyes.
i do want to say, piracy is great. its fine to pirate, hell i dont even collect physical media because its like "better" than piracy, i collect stuff so i can be disconnected to the fucking nazi ass spying society that the rich billionaires have made.
if i post a movie that i watched, or an anime, or a game i played, or music i listen to. i want it to be my choice. i dont want a huge company knowing that i did last night. they dont need to know that shit.
