Okay no I simply cannot accept the categorization of A Psalm for the Wild-Built as a "queer book", you cannot call something a "queer book" for giving a character nonstandard pronouns and not engaging with the concepts of gender or sexuality in literally any way beyond that. If you made the protagonist of Psalm cis the only thing that would change apart from their pronouns is that two lines of dialogue would have to be removed. That is not a queer book. Read something else.

#I felt only mild dislike for this book when I read it and mainly because it's just not that good. I think it's *annoying* when cis authors #do this kind of thing where they make up a setting where gender has no societal meaning and then make a character nonbinary and act like #this means anything in that context. But this kind of shallow engagement with the concept of gender is everywhere it's hard to get too #worked up about any one instance of it. However. The way people talk about this fucking book has become too much for me.#Not only do I now hate this fucking book but every new thing I see people saying about it makes me hate it more #“Queer book.” DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH.
