Élise Fouin

As a graduate of the Ecole Boulle, named "Talent à la carte" at the Maison & Objets show in 2010, she skilfully combines both art and design. She has a marked preference for the materials over the items themselves, reclaiming them and reusing them with the aim of constantly being able to reinvent them more effectively. Whether we are talking about space, products or furniture, her work is underpinned by a poetic spirit and a commitment to sustainable development, reusing recycled and recovered materials as her raw material. Recognised for her work with paper and with lighting, she has exhibited at the ToolsGalerie and at the Granville Gallery, and is now producing projects for luxury brands.

How can a design item be both finished and mutable, durable and contemporary? Monumental installations like Studio Chris Kabel's "Wood Ring" impress the vistiors at the special show „ Design At Large“ at Design Miami/ Basel under the motto "mutation and metamorphosis"... a topic chosen by curator ‪#‎DennisFreedman‬.

The round-shaped bench is both public and intimate, inviting users to share the internal space, or decide to isolate if facing outwards.

COLORS 89: Moving House

In the past quarter century, the world’s migration rate has doubled. Today, 232 million migrants live abroad, and 90 million more are currently packing their bags. COLORS 89 – Moving House follows their journeys.

While Spanish homeowners are setting up house on the streets after getting evicted from their homes, Chinese workers are moving into shipping containers in Shanghai. Indian temple devotees are sacrificing toy airplanes in return for a visa; halfway across the world, Mexican vacationists are voluntarily getting chased by fake US border patrol at a local tourist attraction. We’ve investigated people's motives to move, the borders they cross, the things they carry and the obstacles they surmount. Including a few tips on how to build a temporary shelter and a set of maps to put you on the right path, in case you are looking for one.

Exhibition Marre Moerel in We*Do Gallery Now that anti-government mass demonstrations are taking over the streets of Bangkok, We*Do Gallery in the very same capital of Thailand proves to be a peaceful haven. Madrid based Dutch artists and designer Marre Moerel, who has worked for Cappellini (IT), Celda (ES), Covo (IT), Offecct (SE), Ozone (JP) and WilsonArt Int. (USA), shows brand new work she created especially for We*Do Gallery. The collection is called HILO and consists of a Limited Edition of 8 high-end conceptual vases.

New OASIS Collection by the Architect group ATELIER Oï for Moroso

Founded in Neuveville, Switzerland, in 1991 by Aurel Aebi, Armand Louis and Patrick Reymond, atelier oï has been striving to dissolve barriers between genres and foster cross-disciplinary creativity for 20 years.

Over the course of their achievements, architecture, design and set design have intertwined on an international scale. Multidisciplinarity, team spirit and an intimate rapport with the material are their watchwords. Born of an intuitive and emotional affinity with the act of shaping different materials, their projects have been recognised the world over (winner of Europan 3, 1994; European Museum of the Year Award, 2001; iF Design Award, 2012; Living at Home Award, 2007; Product of the Year, Architectural Record, 2008). The project offers various soft volumes with three different heights; from a low daybed to circular elements or freestanding units. Additionally small storage items, coffee tables to be integrated and metal tube frames with flower-potholders, small bookshelving units or curtains give various options to arrange special areas and zones around the sofa island.

Francisco Polo - Founder of We*Do Gallery & Design Curator

It’s little wonder that Francisco Polo, has emerged as one of the new leading voices in the design world as a vanguard curator who are giving design the same aesthetic attention as Artwork, selecting exceptional objects and Designers who have in common an authentic handwriting and very personal design view.

Francisco Polo is also widely known for his signature style & discerning eye, and finding the design that he likes, comes always spontaneously and through pure instinct.

With Chemistry-sciences as career, Francisco started his first creative and design steps as Visual Merchandiser at the well-known Brand Vinçon, later on, worked as Interior Designer for Ikea International and in 2002 he opened his first Interior-Architect studio and Distribution agency in Madrid specialized in Scandinavian Design, directing and executing interiors from concept to creation.

End of 2010 he moves to Asia opening the well known and aclaimed space We*Do Gallery Bangkok in 2012 ( www.wedo-gallery.com ), awarded by Maison & Objet in 2013 as one of the best Contemporary showrooms worldwide and receiving a big success into Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Singaporean markets.

Through We*Do Gallery, Francisco introduced the first Concept store in Thailand, working with Fashion, Art, Lifestyle objects and Furniture from Brand names as: MOROSO, Tacchini, Cappellini, VITRA, Asplund, BD Barcelona, or Matteo Grassi and realized periodical Design Exhibitions with most acclaimed contemporary designers and new emerged talents.

After 4 years living and working in Asia, most recently, Francisco decide to focus all his experience in the past into curational services, Curating Design Exhibitions and Commissioning Unique & Limited Edition pieces from leading designers as Marre Moerel, Formafantasma, Doshi & Levien, Front, Bryjan Singuroarson or Richard Hutten with exclusively showcase at We*Do Gallery Bangkok.

The Sticks are made in three different types of wood, mahogany, oak and Icelandic birch and are carefully crafted with special attention to detail using Wood, Nylon strings, Chains, Hooks, Fox Tail, Fish skin, Pebble stones, Float rings among other fisher materials from Iceland .

We*Do Gallery is proud to anounce that the Designer will create a new STICK specially commisioned for the Exhibtion, that after the show period will be kept as part of the We*Do Gallery Private Collection as well as being sold at Spark Design Space .
