On this day, 15 years ago, Tupac Amaru Shakur died after suffering several gunshot wounds a week earlier. His bullet riddled body just couldn’t take it anymore and the world lost a young man. A son. A rapper. An activist. An actor. A motivator. A role model and, most importantly, a human being. 

I’d like to dedicate this post to the memory of Tupac Amaru Shakur. His music has helped me through a lot of hard times, and his words and actions has acted as both inspiration and invaluable life-lessons. Not a day goes by without me being reminded of his greatness, as his portrait hangs on my wall. He watches over me. Words can’t explain how much I owe the man.

I’m fully aware that I’m a lower middle-class white boy who lives in Sweden. I know I am. I don’t live in denial, I’m not delusional. But Pac’s music is universal, we all go through struggle. We all suffer. We are all human beings. Pac was bigger than that. When he spoke, people listened and I will never forget him. I can’t believe that it has been 15 years since you were taken from us. When you died, I was a 5 year old runt terrorizing the neighborhood. Now I’m 20, alone in the world for the first time. Merely 5 years younger than you were when you were gunned down in Las Vegas on that dreadful September night. Compared to you, I’ve accomplished nothing but because of you, I can look back at my life with a smile on my face. You helped me out of the darkness that was my mind at one point. Another time, you were the one that helped me find my first love. For that, I want to thank you. We are broken up now, but it doesn’t matter. Just another life lesson learned. You inspire me Pac, and I’m sure that there are millions of people around the globe that feels exactly the same way. You wanted to be a “living legend” when you died, you accomplished that. Whoever pulled the trigger on you, had a small mind.

Rest In Peace Tupac. I still remember what you told me: “Keep your head up, are you still down? Don’t ever give up.” I won’t Pac. I sincerely miss you. We will never forget you. Is there a ghetto in heaven?

Efter att ha rappat i sju år, släppt ett mixtape med duon SnickSnack, gjort otaliga gästinhopp, deltagit i fyra mycket uppskattade battles och varit med och startat upp studion Mekkeriet i Malmö är det nu dags för Grizzly att släppa sin debut som soloartist. Ursäkta Min Franska har funnits i huvudet på debutanten, i en eller annan form, i snart fyra år. I takt med Grizzlys egen utveckling, både som person och rappare, har mixtapet ändrat form och innehåll så många gånger att de flesta nog trodde att det aldrig skulle bli något släppt. Men nu är det dags, och det med besked. Slutresultatet är ett tio spår långt mixtape som definitivt kommer lämna avtryck efter sig.Grizzly samsas om micken med Organismen, Öris, Marke, Mächy, Sebbe, Martin Zamora, Simon Bell (fd. Profet), Maqs, Bobbo och Niklas och produktionerna håller enormt hög klass. Det är mycket Skåne, mycket rap, lite sång, lite scratch och mycket kvalitet. En debut som lovar otroligt gott inför kommande släpp.
