It's a day as usual. Draw something, watch the trouble-maker, wait for something to happen...
Today, my wait yields a result; I notice, as I look out the window, the sky darkened. It hasn't been so long, has it? I've kept busy, but not nearly enough to lose track of time.
I look to him. He'll know the time without fail.
His clock rings out the time: It's 13 'o clock.
I step outside to see the sky more clearly. It's stranger, somehow. The sky is dark, yet luminous. It's far too blue to be night, not bright enough to be day.
He follows. He must've been sitting for too long again. He takes off his glasses as soon as he puts them on.
"The sky's weird today, huh?"
"Well, if I had any say in it, I'd say this Rumbles my mood."
Ha! Rumbles? I get it! Because thunder rumbles! It's a double-meaning! Human words are so funny! So funny, that I nearly forget the strange phenomenon in the sky.
Has this happened before? I do not recall. It doesn't seem normal. It looks soothing, yet, terrifying. There is a feeling of discomfort that rings from my horn, or at least, different than normal. As if something were asleep, but its presence overpowering, as if it were all around me... no, in the sky.
Is the sky asleep? Why would the sky be asleep? Skies. Don't. Sleep!
No! There is a meteor shower in the afternoon, the sun is missing, and the sky is asleep! I can't make sense of this!
"You know, it's a human thing. Or, well, it's probably tied to some specific cultures. When you see a shooting star, you make a wish. There's also a superstition that if you say it outloud, it won't come true, but eh. You can tell me if you want. Unless you're trying to sneak more treats into our shopping cart."
Why can't he take this seriously? The sky has an aura, it's asleep, and all he can think about is next week's groceries?! Oh, right. No, that's not what this is.
"I'll report this the area leader. Try to see if you hear anything about it online."
Of course. Maybe this'll give us something to do today. Others are bound to be scared too. Maybe they'll understand.
