Ok, one more.
Arbitrage models and mortgage options pricing
QuantLib: a free/open-source library for quantitative finance
Managed to cram in this one also. Excellent of course.
Read this book the other week. Fun to read. I recommend it if you work with any development project, software or hardware.
Method isn't everything.
I read a blog entry of a friend today and got me thinking of entropy in teams and companies. There are certain people that are so crucial to organizations that when they leave the organization crumble and degrade, piece by piece. How can that be avoided. My friend said methods doesn't ensure survival and he is leaning at group dynamics and psychology. Modern methods tend to have distributed leadership but it seems that there is some informal leadership there anyway.
Busy bee
This week has been way to busy. No time for new subjects and current subject is still not boring. Still reading about Bahsoon's ArchOptions and thinking if there is a product there somewhere, perhaps.
This could be really useful for my research.
Interview with Don Reinertsen at GOTO Copenhagen 2012
Read the book first!
Got this book this week.
An amazing book full of insights. I will think like different of product development after this. Real options is a part of it but there is more to than just that.
Another one
I will collect some videos also. Not much out there!
Litterature update
I found two PhD papers online that currently gets all my focus i the subject.
One by Dr. Rami Bahsoon :
Evaluating Architectural Stability with Real Options Theory
and one by Albert O. Olagbemiro (I suppose he is a PhD now):
APPLICATION OF REAL OPTIONS THEORY TO SOFTWARE
ENGINEERING FOR STRATEGIC DECISION MAKING IN SOFTWARE
RELATED CAPITAL INVESTMENTS
Got this book today!
Nothing in there for software architecture per se. But perhaps we can use some of the ideas anyway. Needs some thorough reading.
Week 36: Real Options in software architecture & development
This is the first post of a log of sorts where I collect information on different matters.
The following matters needs to be examined:
How to implement Real Options in architecture.
How to calculate values.
How to avoid decisions that limit your options.
How to get stakeholders to understand this way of thinking.
Let the information retrieval begin....
