Thinking about Shauna relenting and deciding to date Randy to get Jackie to stop bothering her about it. They’re going out and trailing behind Jackie and Jeff— Jackie should be happy because she’s been pushing for this since, like, forever but the more she sees them together the more it feels wrong. And then BAM, she realises she doesn’t want anyone to be with Shauna and wants her all to herself— digging up her massive lesbian feelings for her best friend! :D

Ok so.

Still thinking of Jackie cheating on Jeff with Shauna. There’s so much sneaking around, too much warmth, it feels the same as it does everyday, but only when Shauna breathes heavy by Jackie’s ear, is when gears start to shift. Hands start to wander. They’re sloppy, but keep it secret, so much shit building up until they’re on the plane— and that fucking crashes. So, subsequently, they’re stuck in the wilderness with all this tension, and the big fight they have isn’t about Shauna and Jeff, because that doesn’t exist. Nor is it about jealousy or wanting to be Jackie. It’s about how Shauna feels as though Jackie doesn’t value her, only sees her as someone she can have fun with when her time with Jeff falls flat, grows stale.

Jackie stays outside, she shivers, she hates the cold. Shauna eventually relents and joins her when Tai tells her to fucking go already. Because Shauna knows Tai would if it was Van shivering by a barely lit fire, and Shauna looks up to their relationship, hoping someday her and Jackie could be like that— happy, open, free.

Shauna feels bad, Jackie’s fingers curl around her blanket, still stubborn as always, not wanting to crawl back to Shauna but at the same time she wants to huddle close. Breathe her in. Take her time picking her apart and understanding what exactly makes her tick.

Jackie goes back into the cabin. Her throat closing up, she tells Shauna that she was wrong— that she doesn’t pick her up and drop her whenever Jeff can’t follow through. It’s that she feels something so deeply for her that she can’t ever seem to tame it, and that scares her. Scares her enough to want to fight it, ignore it, and in the process; ignore how much she needs Shauna.

They come back full circle. Starting together, and ending together.
