"I promise you it's not complicated." Elsa beams. "Imagine it...a day of pampering, beautiful clothes, no work to be done. You get to relax and enjoy yourself."
A day of pampering? A day to..relax? Not something Roberta had the opportunity to fit into her daily schedule. Maybe this princess or a day thing wouldn’t be too bad. “Thank you Elsa!” She laughed, smiling. “But what about August?”
⨳ — THOR RAGNARÖK;
send one for my muse's reaction!
“How much longer do you think we’ll be here?” “Thanks for scaring away my company and drenching my workplace in brains.” “Sorry about that time I turned you into a frog.” “How was I supposed to know? Can’t see into the future. I’m not a witch.” “Let me explain something. My hair is not to be meddled with.“ “Are you a fighter? Or are you food?“ “Kneel before me… and rise into the ranks of my great conquest.” “Whoever you are… whatever you’ve done, surrender now! Or we will show you no mercy.” “Whoever I am? Did you listen to a word I said? This is your last warning!” “Oh, I’ve missed this. Still, it’s a shame. Good soldiers dying for nothing… all because they couldn't see the future.” “What do I always say? ‘She is the…’ And it starts with a ‘B.’” “Just wait a damn minute. I’m not for sale.“ “You’re officially pardoned. From life.” “What happened to my manners? I haven’t properly introduced myself. Come on. Uh, follow me.” “We’re not friends and I don't give a shit about your games.” “What do you mean, what am I doing?” “Now, listen to that. He’s threatening me. Hey, Sparkles, here’s the deal.” “Allow me to introduce myself. My name is [name]. I’m kind of like the leader in here.” “I’m made of rocks, as you can see. But don’t let that intimidate you. You don’t need to be afraid unless you’re made of scissors.“ “Ah, well, I tried to start a revolution, but didn’t print enough pamphlets. So hardly anyone turned up, except for my mum and her boyfriend, who I hate. As punishment, I was forced to be in here and become a gladiator.” “I’m actually organizing another revolution. I don’t know if you’d be interested in something like that.“ “No, nothing makes sense here, man. The only thing that does make sense is that nothing makes sense.” “Yes, I am. Gonna fight him, win, and get the hell out of this place.” “Most of the stuff in here is fake. Or weak.“ “Want to see what true power really looks like?” “Hurts, doesn’t it? Being lied to. Being told you’re one thing and then learning it’s all a fiction.” “You didn’t think I’d really come and see you, did you? This place is disgusting.“ “Does this mean you don’t want my help?” “You don’t stand a chance. Do you understand what I’m saying to you?” “(SCOFFS) Fine. I guess I’ll just have to go do it alone. Like I’ve always done.” “Piss off, ghost!“ “Sounds like you had a pretty special and intimate relationship with this hammer… and that losing it was almost comparable to losing a loved one.” “Do not zap me with that thing. I just wanna talk.” “There’s nothing wrong with women, of course. I love women. Sometimes a little too much. Not in a creepy way, just more of a respectful appreciation.” “No one escapes this place. So you’re gonna die anyway.” “Now, don’t you move. My hands ain’t as steady as they used to be.” “Hey! We know each other. He’s a friend from work.” “Where have you been? Everybody thought you were dead.” “[Name], we’re friends. This is crazy. I don’t want to hurt you!” “This is what friends do. They support each other.” “I’m not sad, you idiot. I’m pissed off!“ “You just can’t go around throwing shields at people. Could have killed me.” “I know. We’re the same, you and I. We’re just a couple of hot-headed fools.” “You’re so thick-headed that you can’t tell… when someone’s hiding all the way across the universe and wants to be left alone.” “All right. Here’s the deal. I’ll listen to you… till this is empty. Finished. Bye.” “I’m putting together a team. It’s me, you, and the big guy.” “I only survived because…“ “This isn't about the crown. This is about the people. They’re dying and they’re your people, too.” “You know, go ahead. Stay here and keep drinking, keep hiding. But me… I choose to run toward my problems and not away from them. Because that’s what… Because that’s what heroes do.” “Quite a lot’s happened. You and I had a fight recently. I won. Easily.” “You know what? I woke up this morning thinking about a public execution. But for now, I’ll settle for this sweet little…“ “It’s just a planet. You've been on a planet before. Now you’ve been on two. That’s a good thing. It’s a new experience.” “You and I, we have to fight this really powerful being… who also happens to be my sister.” “Okay, that is so wrong on so many… I don’t wanna fight your sister. That’s a family issue.” “I’m not fighting any more beings. I’m sick of it.” “Fine, you don’t have to fight anyone. But we’re in danger here, so we have to move.” “What are those things on her eyes? Are those the people that she’s killed? She’s so beautiful and strong and courageous.” “I don’t plan to stop drinking.” “I can’t turn away anymore… so if I’m gonna die… well, it may as well be driving my sword through the heart of that murderous hag.” “So, I’m saying that I wanna be on the team. Has it got a name?“ “We need one with cup holders, because we’re gonna die. So, drinks!” “Do I know you? I feel like I know you.” “Open communication was never our family’s forte.” “[Name] I thought the world of you. I thought we were gonna fight side by side forever. But at the end of the day, you’re you and I’m me. I don’t know, maybe there’s still good in you. But let’s be honest, our paths diverged a long time ago.” “It’s probably for the best that we never see each other again.” “I know I’ve betrayed you many times before… but this time it’s truly nothing personal.” “[Name]. You’re still alive. I love what you’ve done with the place. Redecorating, I see.” “I’ll get that sword… even if I have to kill every single one of them to do it.” “Your savior is here. Did you miss me?“ “I hate this prophecy.“ “[Name], stop. Just for once in your life, don’t smash.” “Maybe you’re not so bad after all, [Name].” “I just gotta say, I’m proud of you all. This revolution has been a huge success. Yay, us!”

She had recalled her initial reaction when the former Commodore began turning over a new leaf. Having to divert all of their pennies to food and travel left little for luxuries such as drink. Roberta was thankful. This was a side of James she could grow accustomed too. Dare she say optimistic? Not to mention, the difference without the beard seemed to help in itself.
“It often works out, just not how you expect it too.” Her features softened when she looked up at him for perhaps a moment too long. Wait, what? Sighing, she looked away. “That is…indeed a good way of seeing it. This will all indeed be for the good. Have I told you yet how glad I am you decided to come along?” The dirt road behind and ahead of them, but she was hopeful. Her bag full of scrolls and books on these stones they were in search for.
Their rapport had certainly improved since first he took up with her- in no small part did he attribute that to his own personal change in attitude. There hadn’t been much incentive to play nice or be genteel when all that he’d known had crumbled around him, when he didn’t have a single friend to rely on apart from the bottle. Perhaps he’d grown weary of it. What point was there in being a gentleman when the world didn’t see him fit?
Now that he did have a friend (or so he had come to see them to be, at least in some respect) that need to not be…quite so brash all the time began reemerging.
“You may have said something to that effect…though, I can’t be sure why. I haven’t exactly been the best of company…or the most useful hire, come to think of it.”
She may have indeed said it before, though James could be certain it wouldn’t have meant to him then what it did now. They shared a brief look before her eyes fluttered away in a manner that made him pause…though he didn’t dare speculate on that further.
“I’m…rather glad you elected to take me along as well. You’ve given me a purpose again, which is more than I deserve to begin with…and you’ve also given me a friend- and a smashingly beautiful one at that.”
And then, in horror, he realized what he’d said.
“That is-…a beautiful friendship. Not that you aren’t-…! Of course. Clearly. But, even so. Friendship. We’re talking about friendship. After all.”
They’d probably all drown if he continued this pattern of nervous sweating.
“Any company is better than none. Even the grumpy kind.” Roberta commented quickly as James kept talking. He had made progress since they left. The red head took a deep breathe in, still trying to tell herself to calm after that measly glance. Especially hearing him say he was glad to be with her. Glad to be with her. This was indeed nice.
When James spoke of beautiful, the red head felt her cheeks warm. Hearing him stumble over his next few words did not help either. A smile crept over her lips at the sight of him. Oh he was cute.
Clearing her throat, she adjusted her shoulders so the bag at her side would move. Acting busy. “Thank you James. A woman in a profession such as myself does not get to hear that as sincerely very often.” She drew no attention to his stumble. “And I am happy that we are friends. I don’t think I could trust anyone more on this quest.”
"You don't want to go head-to-head with me in a battle of stubbornness," James warned, brushing off his hands from loading up the saddles. "It's a destined loss, I'm afraid. I've made /mules/ seem easy-going."
@allhcndsondeck
She was so thankful they had found horses. All of this on foot business was starting to get to her.
James kept egging her on, seems she had a point to prove. “I grew up a playmate of the King and treated him as an equal. Imagine how much fun he had with that.” Roberta stepped close to him and placed one hand on the horse, looking up at him. “I bet I can keep my hand here longer than you.” She challenged him with a smirk.
"You heard me." She laughs, "There is a way for you to be a princess, only for a day mind you but it's an Arendelian tradition for the Queen to chose one woman or girl to be a princess for a day and Roberta I want to choose you."
@elsaofarendelle
Roberta’s eyes gently widened at Elsa’s suggestion. Slowly as the pieces came together she laughed. “I am honored, Elsa. Thank you. But I have no idea how to be a princess.” She swallowed, just at the thought of wearing a lovely dress and fine earrings. She often was a woman of comfort, but everyone wanted to dress well at least once. “I shall do my best.”
Elsa smiled, an idea taking shape. "What if...you could still be a princess?"
She wasn’t following.
“I’m sorry your majesty?”

@elsaofarendelle
“I only did a few times. I learned quickly though, that I was meant to be a warrior.” Not that women could not be both, but her opportunity to be a princess had slipped through her fingers before she even knew she had it.

“Yes…It’s alarming how chipper I can be when I’m not drinking my words.”
And contradicting, apparently. How could someone in his position argue that ‘a lot of things work out’? A great many things hadn’t worked out for him, after all. It hadn’t been long ago she’d found him floundering, soused, at least a month from a bath in a pirate tavern, fallen completely from grace. He certainly wouldn’t have asserted this then.
“…all things considered, I suppose not everything in life works out,” James amended. “But…perhaps I can give myself over to the theory that all works for good in the end, if one allows oneself to see it. To think, in some other life I might never have been enlisted in this rather insane, albeit amibitious venture of yours.”
She had recalled her initial reaction when the former Commodore began turning over a new leaf. Having to divert all of their pennies to food and travel left little for luxuries such as drink. “She did all in her power to prevent the prince from ever meeting the one special maiden with whom he would share true love’s kiss.”
“It was such a lovely dream.”
“Presenting my one true love. My prince. My dream come true.”
“All those years of troll chasing, trying to keep him from ever meeting a girl.”
“You shall not prevail, foul troll. That maiden is mine!”
“Do you really think your dream boy exists?”
“Fear not, fair maiden. I am here.”
“So this the little forest rat who thinks she can steal my throne?”
“But all my wishes are about to come true.”
“A wish on your wedding day. That’s the most magical of all.”
“If somebody could show me just a bit of kindness, a friendly hello or even a smile, I’m sure that would lift my spirits so much.”
“After a whole day of that, you still want to get engaged?”
“Why is there a princess on the castle billboard?”
“I’ve been wandering very far and long tonight and I’m afraid nobody’s been nice to me.”
“Is this a big habit of yours? Falling off stuff?”
“Just because she has on a funny dress, doesn’t mean she’s a princess.”
“You made a dress out of my curtains?”
“You need to rush to her side and hold her in your arms and then pour your heart out in a beautiful ballad.”
“It’s like you escaped from a Hallmark card or something.”
“Wouldn’t she just love to come crawling back here and steal my crown!”
“I do wish there was someone who cared enough for me to go after him.”
“A man like that, strong and brave, I’d do anything for him.”
“The steel beast is dead, peasants. I set you all free.”
“Sire, may I suggest we seek elsewhere for your bride?”
“Poisoned apples, my lady.”
“One small bite to drag her down into a deep and troubled sleep.”
“When the hands of the clock strike 12, that precious little pretender to my throne will be gone.”
“You feel you’d die without me here.”
“She told me it’s just beyond the Meadows of Joy and the Valley of Contentment. What is all that about?”
“The man who holds your hear is a lucky fellow indeed.”
“If you guys are trying to manipulate us, you can throw the whole deal out.”
“You begged me to put you on this case, and this is what I get for it?”
“Call your prince.”
“I wish you every happiness.”
“You mean it feels like a day because you’re so in love?”
“You’re gonna marry somebody after a day because you fell in love with him?”
“How can you talk about loving some guy you don’t even know?”
“I know what’s in his heart.”
“Most normal people get to know each other before they get married. They date.”
“You have such strange ideas about love.”
“Forget happily ever after. It doesn’t exist.”
“I don’t need self-respect. I just need your lips against mine.”
“How could I love a man who doesn’t even like himself?”
“This isn’t love. This is infatuation.”
“Love, the lovey-dovey version that you talk about, it’s fantasy.”
“I just want her to be strong, you know? To be able to face the world for what it is.”

“I don’t know where to find a fairy godmother at this late hour.”
“It’s not true what they say. I have met so many kind and wonderful stepmothers.”
“I’d like to ask each gentlemen to invite a lady he did not accompany this evening to dance the King and Queen’s Waltz.”
“What a terrible accident that brought you to this terrible place with so much sadness and pain.”
“I can stop the hurt. I can make all those bad memories disappear.”
“Why would I ever align myself with that buffoon?”
“Your days as queen will be over!”
“Take my crown? Don’t you think that’s a bit melodramatic, dear?”
“All this nauseating talk of true loves kiss. It really does bring out the worst in me.”
“If I’m going to remain queen, I’m going to need some sort of story when I go back.”
“I don’t want you to miss this ending.”
“It’s the brave little princess coming to the rescue.”
“I guess that makes you the damsel in distress, huh, handsome?”
“We’re coming to the end of our story.”
