lando breaks up with magui and starts sleeping with oscar and oscar thinks this is it, this is when lando realizes he and oscar are perfect together. but then one night after they fuck lando starts showing oscar girls’ instagrams and talking about how hot they are and which ones he wants to sleep with and oscar’s about to throw up. so he finds this dumb gift hattie gave him for his birthday one year when he was trying to get a seat in f1 and she told him to use it to wish to get into f1 because it might work, and oscar never did because he thought it was stupid. but now he’s so cut up about lando that he goes home and roots around his closet and finds it and snaps it in half and wishes for lando to be obsessed with him and only him. and the minute after he makes the wish, he gets a call from lando where lando’s like i’m so sorry about everything i said about those girls, i actually only want you, can i come over right now and show you how much i want you? and oscar’s elated and also like what the fuck my wish worked and also like of course it wasn’t the fucking wish, maybe lando just finally feels the same way he feels. anyway lando comes over and everything’s amazing and oscar’s like wow we’re in love for real. except sometimes lando wakes up screaming in the middle of the night. and also sometimes lando seems really confused about where he is, but it’s all like ambiguous enough that oscar can pretend it’s not really anything. except at the next race, lando tries to kiss oscar in the middle of the paddock and keeps calling oscar his boyfriend, which oscar tries to play off as a joke except lando gets super serious and says “no we’re soulmates” and then when oscar tries to play that off as a joke, lando bursts into tears. and oscar starts to realize oh fuck my wish worked but he tells himself it didn’t because he doesn’t want this thing with lando to end even though it’s kind of weird sometimes, so he just convinces himself everything’s fine. and then during the summer break lando tells oscar that he doesn’t really want to keep racing anymore because he doesn’t really love it the way he used to, and oscar realizes lando doesn’t really seem to enjoy anything anymore except being with oscar. and oscar knows he should feel guilty about that, so he tries to google if anyone’s ever undone their wish. and he finds this whole reddit thread of people who have undone their wishes for their crush to be in love with him and the crushes have all hated them for, like, coercing them into a relationship. so oscar realizes it’s a choice of being with lando like this or not having him at all and oscar decides not to undo his wish and lando quits f1 and basically becomes oscar’s wag and the ending is them being all cuddled up after oscar’s won his first championship and lando’s quit racing and it’s this very romantic loving scene except the reader knows how fucked up it ultimately is. anyway just some Thoughts™️
