I've been thinking of this scenario with Clifford obsessively. Despite being a Fairy Hunter, he is really kind and gentle with fairies and small things... on the surface. Under that however? He has an insatiable hunger he can just barely control. He has near constant hunger pains he can't explain.
I can't help but think of him losing his mind and going feral brain when he finds an actual borrower/fairy colony. He just... snaps, like an animal. He's been hungry for so long, and all these tiny creatures have triggered his deeply-suppressed predatory instincts.
He goes on a hunting spree grabbing every borrower he can and swallowing them down, sometimes more than one at a time. The whole colony is panicking and screaming trying to get away from the monstrous Fairy Hunter, but there's nowhere to hide from that keen nose and his big grasping hands.
He grabs a whole handful and swallows them down, and there's muffled screams as they slide down to join all the others in his very spacious belly. It'll honestly probably takes dozens to make him full, and even then, will he stop? I could see him painfully full and yet still trying to swallow down a few more...
He's just so hungry, and their squirming feels so good. He also doesn't feel like he's alone for once as all these little lives fill him up. There's so many, and they're all his now.
After that, his belly is so full he just has to lay down like a big stuffed bear ready for hibernation. He probably sleeps a few days as his prey slowly stop squirming, digest, and are incorporated into his body...
By the time he wakes up, he doesn't even remember what he's done. He totally blacked out from hunger, but now? He's his usual gentle, jovial self. He couldn't possibly imagine the things he's done. He just wonders why he feels so good and satiated, and also why he's gained 30lbs during his nap.
He burps louder than he ever has in his life before going about his day, feeling fantastic. 💙
