“Our lord has his moments that’s for sure. It’s almost scary when he gets angry. But even so, he truly cares for each and every one of us. Our job is to make sure his ambitions come true. You’d certainly see more sides to him if you were his bodyguard, want to join and see for yourself? Even with Xu Zhu and myself doing it, the work is tough!”

     Heavens, his face made a cringe at the impact, and at that moment Cao Pi was very grateful that Dian Wei was an ally. That was only a friendly gesture–      ❝–Of course,❞ he replied, ignoring the sting left behind. ❝Then it’s good to see you in pristine health. I may need your help in the near future.❞

Dian Wei made a bow, nodding in agreement. "Of course! The Cao family will always be where my loyalty lies. We will crush the opposing forces! I won't let a thing happen to you nor lord Cao Cao, you can bet on that!"

     ❝Hm. You don’t appear to have changed much, yourself. I hope my father has continued to treat you well – you are one of his favourites, last I checked.❞

"Ha! Are you kidding? Look at me, I'm monstrous!" Dian Wei boasted as his massive hand patted him on the back. Though the pat was like getting hit by a regular fist.

Sitting up, Ruolan stared at him for a long moment in disbelief…And then grinned, hardly able to believe her own dumb luck. If anyone else had told her that stunt would work, she wouldn’t have believed a word of it.

“Hell, you weren’t too bad yourself. You almost had me there!” she said, giving a snort of laughter of her own. “As for the deal…I think I’ll let you off easy. Sneak me out for a drink sometime and I’ll call us even. That shouldn’t be too hard, right?”

"Just a drink? Wow that's easy enough. Then again..your week of work was just going to be a vacation anyway hahahaha!" Dian Wei tapped on his knees before standing up in a straight posture. Moving his head side to side, he popped it several times before taking a deep breath.

"Just name the time and place missy, and I will fulfill my promise"

Ruolan froze up, trapped on her back with Dian Wei towering over her. Her lower lip trembled, brow furrowing; with her stuck like this, the fight was as good as over, and all she had to look forward to after this was a long week of agonizing work. 

…Except maybe there’s another option.

Steadying herself, she drew up her legs, aiming both of them for the center of his chest in one last, powerful attempt at a kick.

"Hey you already..huh?!"  Thinking about his victory just ruined his chances. Dian Wei released his grip on her arms to try and block but it was already too late. Her feet struck a direct blow into the center, causing him to fly back and land on the ground. After landing, he could not believe that he forgot to hold her down all the way with no such chance at a counter attack. Dian Wei began to laugh.

"Gahahaha! What a splendid spar! Congrats little lady, a deal is a deal. I shall grant you whatever you wish." he blurted out while lifting himself to sit up.

“What a day! Time to get our of this heavy armor and into something a little more comfortable.” The mad bull said with a grin on his face. After removing his shoulder pads, he suddenly heard a noise. He shot his glance towards the door. He barged towards it and opened it up furiously.
