yo i get how ~ironic~ this ask is. but like i can't find where on CO's blog she said that? i don't follow her, or claim her, and i defs disagree with her. but i /think/ this may have happened because an anon (falsely) said on someone's blog that CO said something, so that someone else responded, and other people responded to that, starting discourse out of nothing? like?? u don't have to publish this ask either. it's just a heads up in case ur going to go in on anything and put ur foot in it <3

its so funny listening to the way BC's and CL's talk about clarke when she's in their ship vs when they talk about her in the "rival" ship

BC's will talk about CL like "two mayos, two whiteys being white" which..... is true lmfao. they are both white. but then when they talk about BC it's like "ground-breaking bisexual character with Filipino lead" which....... is also true. she is ground-breaking bisexual character in that she is the first, as bellamy is the first Filipino lead.  

then you got CL's who talk about BC like "white saviour with her brown prince! racist dynamic!" which is true.. but then they talk about clarke within CL and it's like "two amazing complex ground-breaking characters, individually and together they are revolutionary.. NEVER seen a character like either of them!!!"

 but like.... clarke is a white saviour always. that's a significant part of her character arc. she's a white saviour when she stands next to bellamy and she's a white saviour when she stands next to lexa. the fact CLs will only ever talk about her being a white saviour when talking about BC is so ironic ESPECIALLY when s3a was literally about uplifting clarke and lexa (and octavia) over the ~evil colonial moc~ if you're going to call out BC for being racist, yall better be ready to do the same for your ship which benefitted from the most racist SL this show has tried to pull off  

equally BC's only talking about her being mayo when they say clexa is "just two whites whiting" like guys..... she's still white when shes with bellamy. she doesn't stop being white. she benefits from the narrative because she is white. so for yall to only talk about white privilege when critiquing CL but then when describing BC she turns from a another bland white character to "revolutionary bi rep" like.... and again it's the same for CLs. when describing BC she is a white saviour, when describing CL she is iconic, amazing rep, the best thing that has ever happened to bisexuals everywhere.

anyway, have you ever considered that all statements are true and only using them for certain ships/dynamics is kind of transparent?

amazingly sweet to all his fans

beyond dedicated to playing his role as best as he can

revolutionary representation for so many people

a genuinely kind and lovely person

destined to win an emmy

open and honest about body image issues, racial identity, mental illness, and a myriad other issues that take such courage to talk on

generally fantastic and deserving of the world

eliza is not a body positive icon for fucks sake she's literally just another white girl who doesn't have visible ribs that's like calling me rep for plus sized women when I'm literally just a regular sized girl with a normal bmi when will the whitefem fandom stop

well she's not a size 2 and that is important for a CW show to have a lead that offers SOME sort of body diversity. but yeah, other than that, she's not representation for fat girls or plus sized women. at the end of the day, she is a privilege, conventionally attractive, white, blonde haired, blue eyed actress with curves in the (as decided by Hollywood) ""desirable"" places. hence why she is the lead of a CW show. if she was plus sized, she would simply not be afforded the opportunities she has achieved thus far.   

Melissa McCarthy, Gabourey Sidibe and Rebel Wilson are all actresses who face immense fat-shaming and who are representation for plus sized women. if youre going to defend anyone from fat-shaming, probably best to defend the actresses who actually face it (both in Hollywood as an industry and the general public).

the vilification of brown men in media, fandom and real life is so fucking terrifying. people will literally see them as misogynistic rapists, predators, terrorists and immediate threats before they are seen or viewed as people.  

we see it in fandom when bellamy, a brown fictional character, handcuffs clarke to protect her and is decided by fandom as an abusive and only acting to "punish" her (even though that is not canon, it IS canon by the script, the producer and the actor that he did it with the intention of protecting her)

we see it in fandom when lexa, a white fictional character, holds clarke hostage for a  week for her protection and has her motives addressed correctly by fandom as protection. two circumstances that are fuelled by the same intent, and yet, by fandoms standards, one is abusive and the other is a form of protection.

we see it in real life when bob morley, brown lead of the CW show, explains bellamy's thought process and states that he did what he did to protect clarke. bob is likened to a rapist, called misogynistic and told he hates women. all for stating what canonically took place.

we see it in real life when marie avgeropoulos, a white actress, says that her character brutally abusing and beating her brother is "what siblings do" and is largely brushed off as nothing to worry about.

we see it in real life when alycia debnam-carey, a white actress, says that if lexa "wants something, it’ll happen” in the s2 hiatus when asked if clarke will forgive her character and is considered a cute and funny quote.

brown men have to constantly monitor how they speak, act and hold themselves for fear of being viewed as a predator (PARTICUARLY in regards to white women).

when a brown male actor can't even say why his character canonically did something without being called a rapist, and yet white actresses can speak of abuse as a "sibling thing" or say that if their character wants something, "it will happen" and be considered cute and quirky. what you're seeing are double standards and violent racism that allows the stigmatisation of brown men to continue.

me : clarke griffin is a white savior archetype and ppl defending her tend to frame the narrative of canon in order to make her the victim of events/others when in fact shes the one choosing to put herself in a position of leadership hurting others in the process and sadly often coc who are used as cannon fodder to further her story. her stans willingness to overlook all this in order to make her a martyr and their tendencies to shift the blame unto characters of color whom she hurt (bellamy/raven) is absolutely disgusting whether they are blarke or clexa shippers and ultimately i trust neither
