âLook, I know Iâve openly expressed my dislike for this place and the unkempt pirates that inhabit it. But do I look like an arsonist, ME? Iâd go and look for the person that actually did itâ Mira sighed, folding her arms. âThis whole place has descended into madness, more so than usualâ She murmured, kicking at the dirt a little.
Wendy looked at her gently, raising an eyebrow curiously. âI was simply asking if you had any idea who might have done this. Not that I believed you to be the culprit,â she defended. âYou might want to tone down the defensiveness, or people will believe youâre at fault.â
wesley-warwick¡:
The moment Wesley had arrived at the fire, he had immediately ran around, trying to find his sister and hope she was okay, or more importantly⌠Involved. God he hoped Wendy wasnât involved. She couldnât have been involved. She was smarter than that. Wes couldnât imagine his little sister ever doing something this stupid. Hearing her familiar voice, his face lit up at the sight of the blonde, his arms wrapping tightly around her and immediately pressing kisses to the top of her head. âOh my god, Iâm so happy youâre okay.â He muttered softly, tucking his head into her shoulder. Pulling away a few moments, he placed his hands on her cheeks and he looked her in the eyes. âWhere have you been?â The prince asked before interrupting her. ââAnd⌠You werenât involved in this⌠Right?â He whispered, making sure no one else heard.
Wendy couldnât help but smile, her brotherâs familiar affections causing her to relax as she leaned into him. Her arms wrapped around him tightly, holding him to her, making sure that he was really okay, and it wasnât all an illusion. She smiled as she looked back into his gaze. âIâm fine. Iâm fine,â she urged, placing her hands over his. âOf course I wasnât involved in this. I was asleep.â She left out the part where she had been in a pirateâs villa, away from all this, knowing fair well what would happen if she admitted to such a thing. âWhere have you been?âÂ
niklas--johansson¡:
âWell probably not.â He answered with a shrug, lifting himself up from the post and stepping towards the woman. âBut it might lighten the mood. And considering my villa is that one ââ He then pointed at the villa that was still standing, right next to the burned down one. ââ I feel like Iâm entitled to at least one joke, considering I couldâve been in a villa just like that one, right?â The prince understood why she would be upset with his joke, but he was truly just trying to lighten the tone a bit. Everyone was so upset with everything that was happening, he figured a joke was due, maybe itâd help. Then again, his humor always was a bit darker than preferred by most. âIâm sorry if it upset you, though. I didnât mean to cause any harm by it.â
Wendyâs gaze followed his direction, finding that he was pointing to that of the villa directly beside the one still burning. She swallowed tightly, nodding her head as she looked back at him. âPerhaps. But maybe you need to find a better audience.â Her tone was lighter, and she offered him a very small smile, to let him know she was trying to make the situation better. She hadnât meant to snap in such a manner. âThere was no harm. I have found that I am stronger than people might believe upon first glance.âÂ

(( TASK 009 ))
He looked up at the woman that spoke, closing his eyes and sighing at the sight of the princess. Ah shit. He had meant to catch her yesterday when his assignment came through, but he got caught up in other things. Pills and alcohol. Alex rubbed his forehead, standing up and picking the bucket up. âYou tell me darlinâ, you tell me.â He spoke gruffly, tossing the bucket in a wheelbarrow that held other buckets ready to go back into storage or wherever the hell they came from. âWendy Warwick, right? Iâm Alex Lawrence, youâre under my supervision officially from about two days ago.â He folded his arms across his chest, debating where exactly he was going to take her. She didnât look or sound like someone capable of setting a building on fire, but then again Lecia Cardoza didnât look like she was capable of breaking someoneâs bone. âIt was one of you, and from today onwards youâre all being questioned. I hope you have an alibi ready. Follow me princess.â Alex beckoned her, taking her to his villa was his best bet. Not many people came there, knowing that Alex was hardly ever to be found there anyway. There wouldnât be any interruptions there.
(( task 9 ))
Wendyâs eyes followed him as he moved, this new pirate that had been assigned to watch her. If only she would be so lucky to be assigned a pirate she already knew. She crossed her own arms over her chest, looking away from him as she took a deep breath and tried to relax herself. âAnd you didnât come and see me until now? Something could have happened.â She glanced back at the house, set ablaze, for emphasis, but letting it go and looking back at Alex. She might be quiet, most of the time, but she wasnât weak. She wouldnât let him speak to her so gruffly. She tilted her head up and followed him despite the fact that she didnât want to. âI do have an alibi,â she told him, trying to keep up with him. âI assume you know most the pirates on the island? If not all?â She had to jog a little, his legs longer than hers. âDo you know Levi? Levi Branigan?â

Emilia was shocked to see Wendy standing next to her. Despite it being so long since she had last seen her friend, she couldnât bring herself to make a flirty comment, not when there was a villa burning behind them. Not when she was worried that it would have repercussions that would impact her and those that she cared about. âSomeone?â she questioned, glancing over at Wendy as she was led away from the fire. âHow can they be so sure that it was arson?â she questioned. It made sense though, it had been a long time coming that a royal would do something to fight back.
âNo one was living in that villa. There was nothing that could have set on fire, unless someone went out of their way to do it themselves,â Wendy explained, shrugging her shoulders as she looked down at her feet. She was good at listening, New Zealandâs princess. She was used to it; she was expected to sit and listen while her brother was able to talk at will. âAre you okay?â She asked, turning her gaze back to Emilia, a soft expression befalling her features.Â
maddalenaofitaly¡:
âBella?â the Italian called out once her blue eyes caught sight of the princess with long blonde curls. While her back might have been turned to Maddalena it wasnât difficult to identify who it was which more or less only made it worse when the Italian noticed Wendyâs watery eyes and tearstained cheeks. Venturing closer Maddalena took a seat on the sand adjacent to the princess. âI am glad to see you are safe,â the Italian concurred as she managed to offer the other a smile however faint it was. âBut youâre not okay,â the concern was difficult to hide as Maddalena extended her reach to the other, instinctively taking Wendyâs hand in her own grasp in some attempt to bring comfort to the blonde. âDid something happen to you? Did someone hurt you?â Her questions continued as Maddalena leaned closer, her free hand wiping away the remaining tears on Wendyâs cheek with her thumb.Â
Seeing a familiar face, feeling her familiar touch, Wendy was able to actually let herself feel a little more than she was allowing herself to. She allowed herself to cry, to let her tears stream down her face, knowing that she didnât have to hide from her friend. âNothing happened to me,â Wendy explained, shaking her head as she wrapped her fingers tightly around Maddalenaâs. She leaned into the girlâs touch. âThis whole fiasco... It scares me. They are all interrogating us. They said it was a royal. Who could have done something like this?â Wendy looked up at Maddalena, swallowing tightly. âSomething so dangerous.â

Wendy sat away from all the commotion that was the burning villa, the people surrounding it, watching or trying to put out the remainder of the flames. There was no use, she believed, it trying to douse it now, considering the building was all but destroyed, but she understand the frantic actions the pirates, and even some royals, had taken. Who could have done this, she wasnât sure, but she had a hunch that it wasnât a pirate, and that worried her even more.Â
Tears slipped over her cheeks and she wrapped her arms around her legs, leaning her chin on her knees as she watched the ocean, the waves lapping against the shores over and over again. The sound of it didnât hide that of footsteps coming up behind her, and she turned her head slightly, looking back to see a familiar face. Despite her tears, Wendy smiled. âIâm glad to see that the fire didnât hurt you,â she said softly, her voice and throat raw from inhaling the smoke that had overtaken the island.Â
llcvi¡:
Yes, he was exhausted and he still had a little trouble breathing, the aftereffect of inhaling a little too much smoke while helping extinguishing the fire. But all in all he was fine. So seeing this worried looking on her face let him sigh softly. âWould you please stop looking at me like this? Iâm fine.â The moment the words where spoken he had to cough, refuting what he had just said. It seemed like his body was working against him in that very moment.
( @wendywarwick )
Wendy couldnât help but keep looking over at Levi worriedly, the coughing causing her to wince with the sounds. He didnât sound fine, and that was what made her wary, despite his protests. She had found him shortly after he had been looked over by a medic, and she had insisted they return back to his own villa, where the smoke hadnât infiltrated inside just yet. âI am a very worrisome person, my love,â she pointed out, using the term of endearment without much thought, a frown on her face causing a slight dip in her brow. Reaching up, she ran her fingers through the front of his hair pushing it back from his face. âI just want to make sure youâre truly okay, despite what the medics said. And I donât want you to push yourself.â

Wesley was a little thrown off by the whole event. The fire, the panic, the running around. Everything was happening so fast, and the blond wasnât quite sure how to absorb it all. At first, he tried to help, throwing water on the fire, but somehow, the prince couldnât do that much, and was forced out of the way so that other, more useful people, could help extinguish the flames. Now, sitting a ways back from the fire, legs pulled up to his chest. âSo⌠Who do you think did it? Everyone keeps throwing around royals, but⌠It couldnât have been royals, right?â
Wendy had been worried, at first, that the fire had somehow harmed her brother. She knew that he could handle and take care of himself, but there was a small fear that he got caught up in the flames. She hadnât even noticed, as she watched the remainder of the flames engulf the villa, that he was behind her the whole time. Not until she heard his voice. âWesley?â She turned, a relieved laugh escaping her lips as she moved quickly, falling to the ground and wrapping her arms around his body. âOh, God. Thank goodness youâre safe!â
niklas--johansson¡:
Niklas had been one of the first to arrive at the scene, his pirateâs villa being right next door to where the blaze had started, and as such, he realized how bad it made him look. Yet, he couldnât find it in himself to care at the moment. The man who wished bad things on the pirates shone through only slightly, as he stood, leaned against a post with a lit cigarette in his hand, watching the fire grow, and the people slowly begin to trickle in as the fire grew. âShame no one started putting it out sooner. Whole place might notâve burnt down, if people were faster.â He joked morbidly, taking a drag from his cigarette.
Wendy had been watching with slight horror as the fire grew, spreading over the entirety of the villa, engulfing it with flames. The light from the blaze lit up the dawn, casting an eerie hue on everything and everyone in its grasp. The princess had been mesmerized by the disaster, so much so, that she almost didnât catch the morbid sarcasm in her neighborâs tone. Almost. Turning to him slowly, Wendy wrapped her arms around herself, shaking her head. âAnd you think that making jokes about the situation is going to make it better?â She asked, raising an eyebrow, her voice sore from the ash that was caught in her throat and lungs.Â
emiliaadley¡:
Emilia likely would have slept through most of the commotion had Ramses not bolted from beside her in the bed. She wasnât exactly sure what was going on, and was prepared to go back to sleep, but his warning to stay in the villa piqued her interest. Once he was put the front door, she pulled herself from the bed, through one of his sweatshirts on over her pajamas, and hurried out after him. The sky was dark from smoke, and as she approached the commotion, she could see that ash was covering the ground. Her eyes watered and she began to choke as she got closer to the crowd of people that stood around a destroyed villa. It became clear to her that there had been a fire of some sort, but she didnât truly understand what had happened. âWhatâs going on?â she asked, more to herself than to who was standing by her.
Wendy had been watching with a mix of what was fascination and horror as the villa slowly burned, bit by bit. Her eyes had adjusted to the thickness of the smoke, her lungs burning from the inhalation, and she hadnât necessarily thought it bad before she found her friend beside her, coughing through the ash and dust. Turning to Emilia, she grabbed her friends arm gently, looking at the wreckage before leading her further away. âSomewhat set fire to one of the villas,â she explained, using information that had been passed around by others. âTheyâre not sure who yet.â
alexxlawrence¡:
âIâm surprised this didnât happen before now.â Alex shook his head, exhaling the smoke from the cigarette dangling from his lips. He was sat on an upturned bucket, watching the charred remains of the villa. The fire had been put out little over two hours ago but he hadnât moved except to let a doctor slap some soothing ointment and a bandage over his hand and part of his lower arm that he had burned in the fire. He wouldnât have let her do it, except Mikaela had threatened him with a switchblade. Crazy bitch. The news was more than unsettling, an entire villa burned to the ground. He knew exactly who on this island would be willing to do that and it wouldnât be any pirate. âThe next stage is us finding a fucking dead body. And when that happens, you can bet your fucking ass that Roman will come back to a few less heads on bodies.â Alex stubbed the cigarette out on the side of the bucket, burying the bud under sand. He wasnât even angry anymore at this point, Alex was done with it all. He was fed up of all the drama, all the violence and hassle that had been thrown his way over the last couple of weeksâ hell, the last couple of years even. He looked out at the destroyed building, an eerie calm reflecting in his eyes. âWeâre going to find out who the fuck did this, and god help the poor fucking soul when we do.â
The smoke that hung in the air burned Wendyâs eyes, causing them to itch and water all the same. She hadnât exactly been doing much, just standing and watching the remainder of the villa as it smoldered down into nothing but ashes. She hadnât necessarily been paying attention to Alex at all, but his words pushed through her daze, unsettling her in a way that was uncommon for her. She had believed that, despite the circumstances of her being here, that she had been mostly safe. She had been wrong. They all were in so much danger. Wrapping her arms around herself, she looked over at Alex with a slight frown creasing her brow. âWho could have done something like this?â She asked, and turned to the fire for a second. Her voice was small. âSomeone could have been hurt. Or died.â

Rebekah was on the flatbed of rock by the waterfall. With everything that had been going on since the storm, the Swiss was feeling overwhelmed and if she were honest, a little homesick for snow and complete and utter solitude. Sheâd not danced since the bonfire, so she was a little rusty as she spun on her toes, her hands running back through her hair as she fought back the irritated feeling that she wasnât doing this as good as she used too. Composing herself, the Princess sighed lightly and started again, hoping that getting back to something she loved would help shift some of the homesickness that was building. As she heard a twig snap, she laughed lightly. âYouâre going to make me fall in the pool.â
Wendy had tried to stay quiet, seeing that her friend seemed to be enjoying herself, and she hadnât wanted to disturb that. She hadnât meant to step on the twig that had been in her path. She even winced when she heard it break. âSorry, Beck,â Wendy sighed, as she came out more, letting her know it wasnât a stranger. âI didnât mean to disturb you.â
