AU where Megumi eventually became Zen'in (before Sukuna took over his body)
Sukuna wanders around the seemingly abandoned Zen'in estate years after the disappearance of Fushiguro, whom he failed to use for his own purposes. Let's say, years ago, the jujutsu society somehow figured it out and separated Yuji and Sukuna, and Sukuna is a really good boy now. His mind changed under the influence of the soul in Yuji's body, especially during the "separation" ritual. Sukuna was irreversibly influenced by Itadori, and Itadori himself was also influenced by Sukuna, both taking on new traits in addition to their old ones. Sukuna still has his memories, though, and he wonders what happened to Megumi. And Megumi was taken to the Zen'in and made the head of the clan, as it had to be. And now somehow abandoned Zen'in clan is actually barely alive, but it still exists because it has at least one member, and that is Megumi, the head.
What's the story behind his insanity?
Because of Toji and the whole thing with his son passing on the clan and all that, Megumi was hated as hell. But a rule is a rule and Megumi was supposed to inherit the clan, but even as the head, he was driven to the basement, where the other clan members took out all their anger for his father on him and, in fact, did not allow him to take part in the clan's affairs. Unlike Toji, Megumi was not so patient and mentally strong, so after he has been beaten and broken many times, he simply went crazy.
He cut out the whole clan (just like Maki did in canon), appropriated the clan's property, squandered it, completely indifferent to money like his father once was, and became the sole member and head of Zenin (except for Maki, whom he still respects as a fighter, and perhaps the half-breeds scattered around the world). In the dilapidated, empty estate, he began blacksmithing, adding to his already impressive archive of weapons, the only thing left of the clan. He survives and earns a living by occasionally accepting bounties on someone's head. He has no contact with anyone from his past.
