OMG/Message to #BoCoIntern2015
"OMG" is the feeling I have when I realize I only have a week and a half left of my internship for the Theatre @ Boston Court. It has been such a positive learning experience for me. I felt like I was part of a dynamic team that accomplished so much. Not to mention the fact that the play that just so happened to be running during my internship is by far, the most successful show Boston Court has put on, ever. That's quite amazing. And, I think it's awesome that I was able to help with the show's overall success. Whether it was via promotional material, program editing, or tweeting.Â
My first week, I was visited by two interns who had worked at BoCo previously. I was also flooded with messages of people on Twitter who were telling me "how much I was going to love it" and the like. To be honest, I was a little put off! I thought "these people don't know me! How could they expect that I'm going to love it and everything?" I just thought it was pushy.
And, although it may have been, they were absolutely fucking right.
The bastards.
So, this may or may not be the final WRITTEN Tumblr post (HOW THE HELL DOES 10 WEEKS GO BY SO GODDAMN FAST???). But, before I go, I just wanna say to the future intern at Boston Court:
You're gonna love it.
I will visit you, you're gonna think "why are THEY here?", that's okay. But know that I am jealous of you because you get to be here.
Brian's not a morning person. He won't eat any food that's been sitting out in the open for more than 5 minutes.
Cheryl takes off her shoes. A lot. It's a habit, and I don't think she's going to change it any time soon.
Brian likes it if you wear cardigans. Regardless of gender.
You should utilize a hashtag, I used #adventureswithbocointern2014 but it's kinda long. Also, use #LAThtr, #bostoncourt, and #ArtsInternLA (But only if the County  still wants you using that one in 2015.)
Don't call Brian "Seth Rogen." Just don't.
He will refer to you as "intern." Just go with it.
I, personally coined him "bossman" as retaliation, but it didn't seem to phase him one bit.
I re-vamped the Twitter account called "BoCoIntern" and I gathered over 400 followers over the course of the summer. (You're welcome.) Use it wisely, and get more followers for the next intern after you.
.....That's all I got for now. Ooh! How about this for a sign-off: "Play different." Yeah that sounds good.
