Been going through some stuff for months now... Finally moving forward.
I decided to post this little teaser to psych myself up to complete the chapter, hopefully, by next weekend.

"Are you sure you're okay with this, Naruto-Kun? We don't need to take every mission."
Naruto tightly closes his eyes as his jaw clenches and his hands ball into fists. He is absolutely aware that a test was put in front of him and he failed. The very first time presented with such a scenario and he, quickly, convinces himself that because it was a mission...what could it hurt?
'What could it hurt?!? WHAT COULD IT FUCKIN' HURT!?!' Naruto internally growls.
'Heh...What's the problem, Kit?'
'I DON'T WANNA FUCKIN' HEAR IT, KURAMA!'
'I HAVEN'T SAID ANYTHING, BRAT!'
Naruto opens his eyes and connects with black slits in pools of red. He just stares at the ancient beast.
Kurama huffs through his nostrils before speaking, calmer than a moment earlier, 'You can't stay here, Naruto. You're on a mission...'
Naruto's nostrils flare as he responds, sharply, 'I know I'm on a fucking mission!' The moment his eyes close again his ears are filled with her sweet whimpers followed by her sweet giggles. He feels a pang in his chest when he thinks, 'Those are MY whimpers and giggles...' He takes a deep breath and forces his eyes open to glare at the scene playing out in front of him.
