Hey I'm not able to watch Talking Preacher in my country and I can't find it online. Could you post a summary of anything it mentioned about Fiore/DeBlanc?

i quit the show outright after the end of 2x02 so i haven’t seen it and don’t plan on watching it, sorry about that :/ from what i saw in the tags when it aired, apparently dominic cooper said fiore “lost the love of his life” and that’s why he was depressed/unhelpful, but that was basically all that was said about them both. there was some other stuff i saw about cassidy and fiore that read as REAL biphobic to me, but the thing dom said was apparently the only mention of deblanc, much less their relationship.

as a sidebar: i’m already seeing people saying “i’m not mad, i just wish it had gone differently” or “fiore and deblanc were ultimately tangential to the main plot so i get why they were killed off” and excusing the writers

i am mad

i’m fucking livid that once again they use queer characters as expendable warm bodies to focus on a barely-compelling heterosexual love triangle and at this point there’s essentially nothing that can be done to redeem the show, the writers, or anything else about the production for me

deblanc dying was not justifiable last season, fiore dying was not justifiable tonight, and i don’t know why i expected better

#like i said on my main: the storyline focus on the unholy trio has queer blood on the lens #it did after 1x09 and now it does for pretty much the rest of the show

Dude Fiore's end was a.) heartbreaking, and b.) open ended. Do you think we will see DeBlanc and Fiore in hell with Eugene? I really thought they would come back this season.

i don’t think so, honestly. apparently tom’s visa was only for two years and in the rest of that interview he makes it pretty clear this was his last episode. anatol seems like he’s transitioning pretty thoroughly back into stage acting—he’s in the public theater’s staging of hamlet this summer and he has a theater background. so. all signs point to them being done for good. like i said, it’s not where i wanted the season to end up, but it’s pretty clear they’re prioritizing the straight love triangle and the trio’s other plotlines, so i think we’re shit outta luck.

rather ashes than dust fiore/deblanc, t, 5k there are consequences for leaving heaven, and there are even more consequences for going to hell.

Fiore keeps scratching at his shoulders.

It’s not such a noticeable change at first; mostly it’s like a flag rustling in the wind; always in the peripheral but never enough to draw attention. They’ve kept to themselves mostly, since they got to Earth, since they got to Texas, waiting to hear back from the preacher and DeBlanc’s too busy reading to really pay it any mind right away.

Eventually, though, it catches his eye fully, and he puts the Bible down to frown.

“What’re you doing?”

Fiore’s sitting on the edge of the bed, a look of frustration knitting his brow. He’s tossed his jacket aside and he’s unbuttoned at least three or four of the fastenings on his shirt, has undone the tie, is reaching past his collar to rub at the jut of his shoulderblades. He looks uncomfortable, twisting awkwardly as he mutters, “nothing.”

DeBlanc scoffs–”nothing”–and sets the Bible down, tilts his head as he watches Fiore wriggle for a moment. It arches his back as he struggles a little, shakes his shoulders and then huffs loudly, lets his hands fall again to rest on his thighs as he glares at the tacky wallpaper.

“Don’t look like nothing.”
