 Iâm from Brazil and Iâm 20 years old. I met Taylorâs work/music back in 2008 but But i entered into fandom just later, around 2009. Firstly, Iâd like to say I have knowledge that isnât only âthe tumblr stansâ doing all these things Iâll quote a little later. However, Iâve been observing all those things have been happening here, and like I know thatâs a huge fanbase as well, so Iâll feel free to post it though other social medias.
Iâve been here seeing most of you complaining about the called âtwitter stansâ, and in fact, I acknowledge Iâm a lot more active there.
I also noticed your points have been centralised about the fact weâre asking Taylor Nation (and Taylor herself) to start doing some kind of promo for Reputation, also I noticed you saying that we arenât truly fans, or we only care about numbers and charts, or that our wills donât match with what Taylor really wants.
First spotlight: We all understand the concept for this new era and we also understand as well all Taylorâs reasons for excluding herself from interviews, and we truly understand the reasons sheâs hiding herself from her social medias or cameras, candids and papas and all of it. However, it doesnât means weâll agree hundred percent with all those acts? Do you understand? Me, for example, Iâm fully agree about the fact sheâs not giving her approval for candids anymore, after all it put her personal life in question, but her new album NEEDS to be promoted, Taylor and her team needs giving us something, so from there, we, the fanbase, be able to help her promoting her album. Look, think with me, if even her team arenât fully engaged about promoting her album how it should be, how her fans can be fully motivated to doing it instead them?If we havenât something to comment about? Something to make us feel a little close to her? We canât keep talking the same thing everyday, like we have to pretend we arenât repeating ourselves, being boring and a machine repetitive. Secondly, we canât talk/sing in Taylorâs place.
Second spotlight: We donât give a shit about charts. Charts donât means anything, Charts just means to us what it means to Taylor. We just want her to interact with us as she was always do before. For example, she filmed the taylorswiftnowâs ad, then why she didnât created other severals commercials? And released it piece by piece intercalate with LWYMMDâs behind the scenes? Week after week? When she was about to released LWYMMD music video. Wasnât she sent a preview for GMA? and then, on VMA, she released the full music video? Yes, neither of this occasion she needed appeared or put her face in the spotlight. Is this kind of disclosure that weâre referring to.
She could record commercials which can spread on TV, without break her private life. We fully understand that. It would be a good start and an impulse for us. To have news matters and being excited about promoting the albums alongside with her. Like a  incentive from Taylor and her team to us. Isnât asking too much. We have our own personal lives, like Taylor have hers and yet weâre disposed to be with her. Helping her and seeing her happy. Like a deeply enamored fan of her I need to say: We need to get to receive to giving something in exchange. We need to receive some material to giving something back to her. For her.
Not to mention that: the Reputationâs concept itself is about her fighting against all the media bullshit, that filthy media who still creates dirty headlines about her. And in my view at least, I believe it would be much more productive to go in tv shows that have done nothing but good things for her, always treated her well, like sheâs deserves. So it would make very clear, once at all, which tv shows are good and which arenât. And please, stop fooling yourselves with the idea that filthy media will not find a way to distort Taylorâs words, which will be published in the Reputation magazine. Because, I have this feeling⊠these sites and newspapers will rather buy this magazine that comes with the album in order to create tendentious materials, and in the end, some people will spreading that ugly headlines and the general audience will believe it anyway. The Rep magazineâs purpose is to give fans a several âpamperingâ, but mainly is to boost the physical sales, as the polaroids thing made, back in 1989 era. (Whatâs the problem in admitting it? None.) We all know itâs good she does it, because currently the physical albums sales is very low and sheâs making these strategies helps to boost sales. In nutshell, I understand Taylorâs intention in refusing giving interviews and Iâm SUPER respecting that. But I think it would be a much more effective alternative if sheâd go onto TV shows that always have done good, but that is just my modest opinion and it donât become me a less fan for disagreeing with her in this point. Do you understand? As I said about the candids, I SUPER agree with her and she have my total and fully approval to do this. But letâs talk about this subject further, later.
Third point about this: I saw some post saying that taylor did not trust anyone but trusted us (to promote the album) Â NO NO NO NO NO as I said we will divulge if they give us new material to spread it, we cant stay all the time âhitting the same keyâ. If she and the team arent willing to divulge how are we going to divulge? Do you really think Taylor Nation is working hard only sending just a few trucks around the city and some outdoors??? I love this contract that taylor signed with ABC and also with the NFL, but I dont think it is enough to promote the album, as I mentioned earlier she and the team need to give us material to divulge. Besides that she doesnt have to go in programs to sing, i dont know maybe she can record a live at home and to post on youtube, Doing things like the releasing party of 1989 where she sang on the rooftop for the fas (she also did it in the speak now thanksgiving). The fact here is that taylor doesnt need the media to promove the album. She can do this by herself, with our help, but she and the team have the means, and they have to give us material from these means to divulge.
I saw a lot of people talking about that we have to divulge, but also everything I see on tumblr is post about cats or about Taylorâs disappearance and so I left this question here: you talk so much about the fans divulging, but what you even did to divulge ??? For example here in Brazil when lwymmd comes out we made some posters and distributed through our cities. Do you understand now that weâve promote her from the moment that she gave us material to do this?
The fact is, you spend a lot of time saying that we do not support Taylor and everything, but what do you guys do? Posting kitty things and writing things that they know is what taylor would like to read for her to enjoy. As I said we are ready to promove the album from the moment that she gives us material for it, we are without almost anything, we already used everything we could.
I definitely understand taylorâs entrance here on tumblr is the least toxic place for her, here there are not as many haters as on the other social midias.But the less toxic place for taylor has become the most toxic place for the fans. You guys doing EVERYTHING to get her like for what? throw in the face of other fans? Because thatâs what many people do here when get here like.
Iâve seen people saying that twitter swifties are bullying you here in tumblr because you support Taylorâs decisions. I repeat: we twitter also support her decision and respect but that doesnt mean that we agree 100% on everything. As that fan has mentioned, she doesnt trust nobody, but she trusts the fans. So who better than the fans to show her the things that are doing well in this new era and the things she can improve on? There isnt no one better than us. You guys act as if by her likes yours posts, you knew everything and became bff of her, and that doesnt true. If you know so much her like you said, you already must have realized that often here in the tumblr as in other social media isnt only she who is active, her team take care of that sometimes ( look, for example, at abigailâs wedding, do you really think taylor would sit down during the party and like posts on tumblr being at her friendâs wedding?). And guys even are in the back of your mind, and you arent liking the new direction that things have taken, you only post these things as âwe support Taylorâ because you know itâs what they (her and her team) want to read and like. There is nothing wrong coming here and expressing your opinion saying âlook I agree with that but here at this point I think you could improveâ on the contrary the fans doing those things. Taylor trusts us and in our opinion above anything, we have to show what we are satisfied with and what we are not so she can take it all and see how she can improve. Taylor even said in the prologue of 1989 that she learns with her mistakes and so doesnt commit the same mistakes again but then she goes and makes another mistakes.
Also has the fact that for example when we got the record of lwymmd on youtube everyone was happy, in fact we were not expecting nor beat the record of the vevo who gave youtube and we got. Everyone was happy and it cost nothing to taylor recorded a video saying âpeople, I didnt imagine that this was possible and you surprised me.â I dont remember if she liked something here on tumblr, but if she did, we know it might not have been her too. It didnt cost her anything to post something thanking us.
You say that we practice bullying with you, but the most of you only talk to those who have the follow or like of taylor, when someone appears with some contrary opinion and put here in the tumblr you guys already comes several to âattackâ that person, like these days, some girls from other countries asked you to help the reputation magazine reach the other countries and you were âattackingâ those who were asking for help. Besides that as I said with taylor like you act as if they knew everything about her life and they throw it in our face, saying that we are less fas, because we dont agree with everything she does. So stop and rethink very well in your attitudes before you talk about other people. And when you write something think âthis is my own opinion or Iâm just posting this because I know I can get her like?â
Now letâs get back to the subject: magazine. As well as I have already commented before all this concept of the magazine is because she doesnt have going to interviews in order that they dont distort the words of her can be a shot in own foot, since as I quoted they can buy the magazine and distort the words of her as the same way. Secondly, itâs easy for you to support this, because you absolutely have ALL: tours, âpamperingâ, magazine, chance to see her and meet her, her likes on tumblr, gifts, etc. So itâs easy for you to support her when you have absolutely everything.
Now try for 5 mi put yourself in another fans place, for example some Brazilian fans. She never came here with a Tour. She came once to promote the album red and made a pocket show where the tickets were not sold, they were drawn. It was a very fast passage, Brazil has a huge extension and it was in only one city and the local of the show suport around 3000 people, besides most of the tickets were drawn to people from the city or the region. That is, 98% of the fans stayed out of this show, since then she never came back and never did anything else again (I leave my hopes here because she met someone from UMB weeks ago). Not to mention that the magazine reputation is costing 20 dollars (64 reais) if you buy at the target store and due to the current situation in Brazil, it is already a high cost for us to buy this magazine. And until the present moment we havent any confirmation that the magazine will come with the cd here, some stores will import and the price of a magazine is almost 64 dollars (200 reais) all this for 1 CD, you could buy 3 cds with the price we will pay in just 1.
The fact is: why didnt they create a magazine that would be exported to the whole world at a âtabulatedâ price? Taylor and her team could have done this, many countries just like Brazil dont have the confirmation of the magazine yet. Taylor always privileges certain countries when giving to gift things and the like, and sheâs right, after all, is where her fanbas is concentrated in greater numbers. But she has enormous potential to grow in other countries, so she and the team have to publicize and promote her in another country. For example, when she came to promote the RED here in 2012, the fanbase grew so much more than in 2014, where the CD arrived here in Brazil 2 or 3 weeks after the worldwide release and hasnt any divulgation here (we had to beg for the polaroids and they were confirmed to be missing less than 1 month for the album to release)
Going back now letâs talk about the swiftmas: taylor interacted with the fas and sent gifts to them, nor do I need to remember the shit that happend when she gave that gift for that boy from london who practiced bullying with other swifties? and taylor ended up sending him a present ; Anyway the fact is that: taylor always sent the gifts to the same countries USA / UK, I was obviously happy when I saw that someone who is really her fan won a gift, but I felt very very very badly thinking âwhen will it go to be my turn? âmainly because it was something she sent in the mail and she could send it anywhere in the world, but she only did this in 2 countries.
I understand taylorâs intention to get in here on tumblr because itâs the quietest place for her in social media, I understand she wants to interact with us and I admire her for this so much. But letâs remember that Taylor before 1989 was always saying that she did not interact with us in the social media because she did not want to create those feuds (that are being created) between the fans. And serious guys before I felt it, felt that we were a united fabase. And I just wonder if she knew that something bad could happenig if she interacting with the fans on the social media, why she created a tumblr to do exactly what she was against? Like I said, I admire the fact that Taylor wants to get close to us, and tumblr is the last toxic place for her. But
I dont feel that interacting with the fas here is the right thing to do. For exemple I always kept thinking "and when will it be my turn?â And âI dont agree with that, Iâm wrong and Iâm less fan because I think differently from fans here on tumblr?â

If you are reading this text and you do something that I quoted, or do everything, please the purpose of this text isnt to criticize you to make you feel bad and say âour you are wrong is less fan that Iâ, the purpose of this text is to help you to think in things in another perspective and rethink your attitude. So you can start now to speak what you want, say what you like in this era and what you dont, dont care about taylor likes.
Please tumblr fans, the twitter fans want to join the fabase to come back with fabase united where we respected the opinion of others, where we talk to everyone and everybody was happy where no one cared about taylorâs likes. We are willing to renew our friendship and become a united fabasse. Do you want this too?
