They were to live as Wildlings, and after the murder of The Stark's, Remus was happy. Teddy knows nothing of the families life before being on the other side of the wall.

But imagine, James and Sirius still being alive when Teddy was born, and doting on him so much. Like, Remus wouldn't even get a say. Imagine Teddy being all "Dad, I wanna get my lip pierced" and before Remus can say anything, you hear a distant "Well, it wouldn't hurt." "What's a piercing going to do?"
