Walker arrests Valerie. Phantom has to break her out of jail.
(Also posted on AO3)
Hello! This is my first published DP fanfic. Since Valerie doesnât really have a roguesâ gallery of her own, I decided to give her one. Luckily, this prompt presents the perfect opportunity to introduce one of my rogue OCs! If anyone actually reads this one-shot, can you please let me know what you think about my writing style? I have a bigger Valerie-centric fanfic planned but I havenât been a part of the phandom for a while so I donât know if Iâm good enough or whatever >.< Enjoy!
-
Valerie has always had a feeling her temper would end her up in jail someday. She just didnât expect it to be ghost jail. âLet me out of here, you spectral son of a bitch!â Said S.O.B was a pure white ghost, tailored in an even whiter suit, looking like a guys in white reject.Â
âOoh, offensive language to an authority figure? Thatâs another thousand years to your sentence.âÂ
âI wonât even live for a thousand years!âÂ
âYour sentence extends to the afterlife.âÂ
With a self-satisfied smirk that Valerie really wanted to wipe off his face, Walker turned his back to her and walked away. The audacity!Â
Dani Phantom đđ¤đ¤â¨
It has been an absolute honor to get to bring this chaos gremlin world traveler to life for my first ever cosplay!đ¤Š
This was largely a closet/thrift store cosplay +wig that slowly but surely snowballed into resewing the top using half of the original shirt & a broken pair of leggings and I wouldnât have it any other way! I am super happy with the end result!đ
Dani has been my favorite DP character ever since I first watched the show, so getting into the DPxDC phandom the last few years and finding so few cosplays for her posted on here really surprised me! Figured Iâd throw my hat in the ring and show some love to my favorite eternal little sibling/cousin/daughterđ
Stay on the lookout for future cosplays! The ball is rolling now and there is no way in hell itâs going to stop!đ¤Š
Trans FtM!Danny who isn't allowed on Themyscira. Hes bummed because he did really wanna see the island in all her glory, but he also feels so much gender euphoria. So, it isn't all bad.
Danny rn:
Pretend it says "validation" instead of "vindication"
PLASMIUS! YOU HAVE FLIRTED WITH MY MOM FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME!
Danny: *minding his buisness in the mall, and sipping on a cup of ectoplasm*
M'ari, walks up to him curiously: What are you drinking?
Danny, taken off gaurd by the random child: Uhh...
M'ari: Because it kinda looks like Uncle Jason's blood. Are you a vampire?
Danny: Yes.
M'ari: Oh. Did you get permission to drink that blood? If not that means you're a bad guy.
Danny: I got permission, only weird fruitloops don't get permission.
M'ari, nods seriously: That's good, cause then I'd have had to beat you up. And I like your star hoodie, and I wouldn't want to accidentally ruin it.
Danny: You a hero then?
M'ari: No, Daddy and Mommy are heros though, and that means I'll be a hero one day too.
Danny: Got your whole life figured out huh kid?
M'ari: *proudly nods*
Danny: So where are-
M'ari: Is your skin sparkly because you're a vampire?
Danny: Sparkly?
M'ari: Yeah! It looks like snow when its in the morning and its all glittery.
Danny, snorts: No thats because I have use ice powers.
M'ari: Really?!
Danny: *crouches down and puts his drink down. He holds out his palm, and it starts glowing blue before a glittering blue ice sculpture in the shape if a star materializes in his hand, followed by small ice droplets that turned it into a necklace.*
M'ari: Pretty!
Danny: Tell ya what, you tell me how to contact your parents to come get you, and you can have it.
M'ari: I know Daddy's phone number!
Danny: That'll work.
*one phone call with a panicked father later*
Dick: M'ari!
M'ari: Hi Daddy! Look the Mall Vampire made me a necklace! Hey will it melt?
Danny: Not unless I will it to kid.
Dick: You scared the stars out of me Princess! I turned around and you were just gone! You can't do that!
M'ari: But I was bored, and you walk away from Uncle Tim when you're bored.
Dick: Ah well thats different-
Danny: *snorts but tries to cover it by taking a sip of his drink*
Dick: Thank you for holding her attention long enough to contact me.
M'ari: The Mall Vampire is cool! He knows more about the stars and planets than Mommy does.
Dick: Mall Vampire?
Danny: *smiles at him, showing off his sharper canines*
Dick, pales: Right! Well Granpa is waiting for us M'ari! Thanks for the help sir, goodbye.
M'ari: By Mr. Mall Vampire. *waves excitedly over Dick's back*
Danny: *lazily waves back*
Danny: so, you're Jason?
Jason: yes? I'm assuming you're 'mall vampire'?
Danny: *snorts* yes. I need you to pretend that you gave me some of your blood, so that I could drink it. It's to freak out your older brother. .
Jason: *thinks back on Dick stealing the last powdered donut three days ago*
Jason: I'm in.
I forgot I had this blog so take this.
What if Danny accidentally turned into a god
Air felt like molasses, dripping down his throat. Something this thick should suffocate him, but it wasnât. He could still breathe. Why could he still breathe? Maybe that didnât matter.
Breathing was a mundane action. There were more important questions.
For instance, what were these flames curled around his fingers? They gleamed with a dark iridescence, licking his hands. They felt different than his regular ectoplasmic flames. They felt like water, like he was running his hand through an animated stream.
These flames felt natural. They felt real.
And suddenly, everything felt real for the first time.
He could feel how everything was connected⌠the world was a network of balance. On one side of the Ghost Zone, a ghostling could blaze into existenceä¸fresh from death. On the other side, an old, withering spirit could fade awayä¸into nothing. In exchange for something from nothing, something must be brought back to nothing.
He noted bitterly that the air still felt like molasses.
âDaniel?â Vlad pressed. âHowä¸how do you feel?â
âEverythingâŚâ he whispered. âI feel⌠everything.â
His crimson eyes dripped with worry. âYou took that blast pretty hard. I donât think youâre well. Your handsä¸â
âTheyâre okay.â
Danny clenched his blazing fists and looked back at Vlad. He saw him more than he ever had before. He could see where his ghost side intertwined with his human half. The two coexisted brilliantly, just like Danny once existed. But now he was more than that. He didnât know what he was anymore.
It was exhilarating, to say the least. He was scared⌠and it felt good. He enjoyed his own fear. It felt good to feel.
âWhat did I do?â he wondered.
In response, reality rippled. A few feet away, Clockwork appeared. He was in his child form, but his brow was as wrinkled as an old manâs.
âPhantom,â he greeted.
This⌠felt stranger than their other meetings.
âHello, Clockwork.â
Vlad choked. âClockwork?â
Danny shot him a look and he fell silent.
âWhat did I do to myself? Why is everything⌠intense?â
Clockwork eyed him up and down. âIt appears youâve had an accident with an Artifact of Cosmic Selection. Iâm⌠genuinely surprised.â
âCosmic Selection?â
âArtifacts that grant Godship. Theyâre extremely rare⌠and daresay fatal. If the user isnât worthy, the Artifact obliterates them. Yet⌠you survived.â Clockwork met his eyes with a startling resolve. âYouâve attained Godship.â
âWhat do you mean Godship?â
Was he saying what Danny thought he was saying? No, he couldnât be. He couldnât be a God. He didnât want to be a God.
He didnât want this.
âI think you know,â Clockwork said softly.
He shook his head. âTake it back. Make the artifact take it back.â
âIâm afraid that canât happen, Daniel. You see, the Artifact only grants Godship to those who donât want it,â he scowled. âI of all people should know.â
âNo. No no-no-noä¸â
Clockwork reached forward. âPhantomä¸â
âNo,â he shoved him back. âNot âPhantomâ. Iâm Danny! And Iâm fourteen! I didnât want to be a ghost! I donât want to be a God either!â the flames around his hand moved up his arms, engulfing him in their blaze. âI⌠I donât want thisâŚ.â
The feeling of everything ebbed against his soul and he pushed it back into himself. It didnât feel good to feel anymore. This was all too much at once.
âPlease⌠make this stop.â
Batman: You let Phantom train the sidekicks?
Black Canary: Yeah, I mean hes an adult, but he's closer in age to them, I figured he would be better at understanding them.
Flash: I mean he is childish, but maybe they'll finally listen to someone.
*opens the training room door*
Phantom, snarling: Is that seriously all you've got? Pathetic! Get back up and try again! Saving the day waits for no "hero"!
*Young Justice scattered across the room, all panting heavily, or cradling bruises as they're each paired up with a Phantom duplicate*
Superman, gobsmacked: Phantom what are you doing?!
Flash: Yeah man this looks a little harsh don't you think?
Phantom: They want to be treated like adults, Flash, so I'm treating them like adults. If they want to be treated like adults, then they can train like adults, work like adult, eat like adults, balance their hero work and their civilian work like adults. I said no slacking! Get back up!
Superman, wincing: Still...
Flash: Dude, what did they say to you to piss you off this much? *tries to joke* I need to know so I don't do the same. Seriously, you're scary.
Phantom: *scowls*
Kid Flash, panting: Pl-Please! Can we take a brake? I need some water.
Phantom: 10 minutes. *all his duplicates vanish and Phantom turns and floats out*
*water bottles appear out of nowhere, and all the sidekicks collapse, desperately chugging the water bottles*
Flash: No, seriously, what did you say to him? I've never seen him that upset before.
Artemis, clutching her ribs: K-Kid Flash s-said he didn't get why-why we couldn't be treated as adults and-and do our own work. R-Rob in Said-Said that Phantom was-ss lucky, cause he didn't have a mentor and took-took care of his territory on his own without help. Said-Said it couldn't be that hard since Phantom did it.
Adult Heros -Batman: *winces*
Superman: No wonder Phantom was so upset.
Green Arrow: Yeah, I'd be pissed too if my years of hard work was chalked up to "not that hard".
Flash: *turns and follows after Phantom*
Batman: Hmn.
Robin: *flinches*
Batman: It looks like Phantom still went easy on you. You should thank him for that.
Kid Flash: That was easy?!
Batman: You're still alive aren't you?
Superman: And by the looks of it, he was only brawling, I don't smell the scent of his Ecto-Blasts.
Black Canary: And he gave you water.
Speed Running Family, ch12.p1
masterpost, I am... so migrained. pls no editing, I know there are issue
Danny is pacing like heâs a Speedster. Every so often his eyes dart to the tube that the other him is in. Bart winces even as he think of the person in the tank like that. Itâs not fair, not to Danny or to this⌠this Phantom.
But Bart still keeps himself between Phantom and Danny.
Thatâs also not fair.
Danny: I figured out a new power
Jazz: Wonderful! What is it?
Danny: I can control people's desire to gamble.
Dan: How in the world did you figure that out? I never had a power like that.
Danny: Remember last month when we fought that empathic-powered ghost that made people fall victim to thier vices?
Dan: Enchant, yes. She was gorgeous.
Jazz dreamy: She really was.
Danny: ....Anyway, I was able to defeat Enchant when I overcame my vice through sheer will and...lack of funds.
Dani: Because you lost them all at the slots.
Danny: Yes, because I lost them all at the slots. Thank you for the reminder, Dani.
Dani: Always.
Danny: Well, once I beat her, I didn't go back to the casino until today for my friend's birthday party-
Dan: It's not Sam's or Tucker's birthdays?
Danny: I have other friends.
Dan confused: How?
Danny: Can I please finish my story!?
Jazz: yes, you can Danny. Everyone else, hush.
Danny: Thank you, Jazz. Anyway, I went back and noticed a dark ectoplasm cloud around some people sitting down at the machines. When I got closer to check if it was a ghost doing something, the cloud was absorbed into my body, and they immediately stopped gambling. I felt it the moment I took it. I removed thier gambling addiction. Curiosity got the better of me, and I tried putting the cloud on a man being rude to the employees, and he started betting like there was no tomorrow. He was addicted. Of course I took the cloud back, but I now I know I can control the urge at will.
Dan: That's cool. Can you make everyone fall victim to thier other vices?
Danny: *snaps finger guns* No. Just gambling
Dan: Then how is that useful at all?
Danny: I'm glad you asked brother dearest. I bought a run-down casino in Gotham, using our entire life savings!
Jazz: YOU WHAT?!
Danny: Wait, this is good! I can guarantee that any of the high ballers will give us all thier money!
Dani: Who, the Waynes? Danny, its a run down casino, people with money ain't going to go in there! YOU PUT US ALL AT RISK OF BEING HOMELESS
Dan: Not me. I have my condo.
Danny: I might have....sold that for the renovations.
Dan: YOU WHAT!?
Danny: It's okay! Once we're up and running, I'll control people enough to make sure we get rich without letting anyone lose thier livelihood! Trust me, this will work!
Jazz: YOU SON OF A-
Danny: Before you finish that sentence remember we share the same parents and thus you insult your own Mother or father!
Jazz: Agh! Fine! But you better make sure this casino is successful because if you don't, I will make sure you never see the light of day, ever. Again.
Danny: I swear it will! I sent the Waynes a personal invitation to the grand opening with something they can't resist!
Dani: A top less picture of you and Dan with your faces tastefully out of frame?
Danny: Ugh, yeah. How did you guess?
Dani shrugging: Its what I would have done to get Brucie Wayne's attention.
Jazz: What do we need to do to get the casino ready for opening day? Did you get the license, permits and all that?
Danny: Sure did! Ghostwriter owed me a favor.
Dan: Oh damn. Paranormal forgery
Danny: It's not forgery if it's legally in the system! By the way Jazz and Dani, I might have included pictures of you in bikinis with your faces tastefully out of frame. Just in case those rumors about Brucie are false. At least we can get some of his kids into the casino if he thinsk the photos aren't worth his time. The three oldest are 21+
Dani: Smart
Jazz: ......We're going to be homeless.
Danny: No! We going to be RICH
id say probably my favorite part of the badger cereal dynamic is how it totally flips the "young scrappy superhero and rich suave supervillain" thing on its head.
vlad is mainly driven by emotion. he's petty and jealous and lashes out at people and its so interesting because you're presented with this character who appears to be very formal and uptight but he's just so childish at times.
you typically see the young hero being driven by their anger or passion or whatever but danny doesnt even seem to want to be a hero. he's not doing this out of a strong desire to help people or anything. he has no dramatic backstory motivating him to act the way he does. he's a hero because its the right thing to do no matter what he feels about it.
its just so fun because danny tends to go with logic over feelings, while vlad goes with feelings over logic, so danny usually ends up the more rational one in the dynamic. its just super great i really like it.
Anybody wonder about the whole cognitive dissonance Maddie and Jack have during those canon moments when it's revealed they love and accept their half ghost son?
Destroying ghosts, dissecting ghosts, building anti-ghost weaponry, building portals that bridge life and death itself. basically anything that harms the rest of them are still on the table.
Love is not universal it is selective.
Would be nice if Jack and Maddie questioned their worldview. Jack - âIf ghosts can be good, have I been hurting innocent beings?â Maddie - âIf Danny is halfâghost, does that mean ghosts can be children?â
Jack - âHave I been killing someoneâs kid?â
Maddie - âWhat does that make me?â
Jack - âWhat does that make Danny?â
His spirit is remarkably unbroken for someone with his level of trauma. Sure hope that's not an indication of repressing anything.
Ryland Grace calmly sipped his coffee and looked out his window upon the lone human figure standing on the shoreline of the artificial beach.Â
Ok. it wasn't really coffee. The real coffee, or rather what was left of it once he realized that he wasn't actually going to die and began to ration the surprisingly large remaining quantity of beans, for all of Stratt's faults she at least recognized the importance of an abundance of coffee, was stashed away in a secret Eridian vault like the black gold it was. There had been enough of the stuff to keep three astronauts, or rather two astronauts and a school teacher, sufficiently wired until the rest of the food ran out, and months ago when Rocky had pried open the coffee maker from the inner walls of the Hail Mary it had been a great discovery to find a sufficient amount of powdered cream and sugar to go with it.
Not just for the flavor, cream contained a surprising amount of essential nutrients, enough to keep him far healthier than he would have been otherwise as his body began to slowly unravel from the lack of vitamin C. It was ironic how Grace was no stranger to relying on coffee creamer for essential calories and nutrients in lack of a proper meal, the more things change the more they stay the same.Â
What was currently in his mug could not be considered a proper meal, it was trace amounts of heavily rationed comma slurry mixed with a sort of Eridian algie that grew in the top layers of the atmosphere and was absent of any heavy metals so long as it wasn't deliberately contaminated with them. It had kind of a nutty grassy taste that wasn't what anyone back on earth would necessarily call tasty, but was in a close enough ballpark to Earth-like flavors to make his poor deprived taste buds jump for joy and mask the worse of the comma slurry flavor. win-win.Â
So Grace sipped his not-coffee, or his Erid coffee, calmly as he gazed out the window at the human figure in his biodome.
Details were hard to make out at this distance, but he looked young. Older than the kids he teaches but still very much below college age. Tenager. He had black hair, blue jeans, a white and red t-shirt, and a metal thermos in his hand. Just another southern californian kid exploring the shoreline of a seemingly uninhabited beach with a coffee thermos in hand. He assumed it would be coffee, Earth coffee that is, if the science Eridians had met up with the economics Eridians to start selling Erid coffee to anyone who wandered around planetside then Grace would have to deal with fallout of accidentally starting another popular trend with the youths. He was embarrassed enough about the whole glasses trend. Apparently glasses were distinctly reflective to sonar, and close enough to several fashion trends yet distinct enough in the curve of the glass itself to be considered alien and cool among the youths. It was both highly embarrassing and flattering at the same time.Â
Vaguely he wondered if he should go outside. Say hello, introduce himself, but he didn't give the idea much weight. It would have been weird enough for a thirty year old man to approach an unaccompanied teenager in a secluded outdoor area and start up a conversation back on Earth. No telling how the interaction would go with a hallucination of a kid here on Erid.Â
So Ryland just stood there and watched the dome lights brighten from early morning to daytime mode, until the figure on the beach turned around and vanished into thin air.Â
Disappointing, but not unexpected. Grace set aside his mug, stretched, and began to prepare for the day ahead of him.
After nearly two weeks stuck in captivity with Phantom, Maddie can't help but start to feel very maternal towards him.
