if you're "resting" but thinking of all the things you have to do, that's not resting, that's rotting. Even if you haven't done anything all day, give yourself some time to rest and truly relax. When you let yourself relax guilt free, you actually regain energy for your responsibilities.
this post has helped me a number of times since I first saw it. I have realized I was rotting instead of resting, and depending on the circumstance, got up to do something, or settled more comfortably to actually rest.

I do kinda find it fascinating how Sam Lance and Amanda Waller are essentially the same type of character with different degrees of ruthlessness.
We have two people running a secret government operation with a military background shaped by the same traumatic event. They've spent 22 years trying to prepare for it to happen again. They're both very focused on the survival of humanity and the main difference in these view points is who they're willing to sacrifice to keep humanity safe from a threat they both survived outta sheer luck.
Sam Lance has a rule about not sacrificing civilians, but he's still willing to do some pretty shitty things. He was fine with the electroshock collars on task force X and taking out Cadmus for (as far as we know) trying to make useful instead of military tech, and despite him not wanting to hurt civillians in the highway scene, he was fine with having a showdown with superman over an inhabited city and in a city park.
Maybe he thinks its different when there's room for people to run away.
Amanda Waller isn't working with a perception that some are innocent and shouldn't be hurt. She's working with a perception that anyone can be sacrificed to save humanity.
They're very similar people but they disagree on who its acceptable to lose. If the saying is you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, then Ananda Wallers making a much larger one than Sam Lance.
The shift in the intro from Jor-El to Jon, not just a character shift but a directional shift, Clark spending a lot of the first 2 seasons trying to figure out where he came from and who his people were while dealing with a bunch of antagonists that relate to the past event that brought him here, and then he and Lois dealing with their son from the future trying to stop bad things before they happen but also looking towards the future and trying to figure out what they want from it.

I saw an otter briefly hop on top of a babirusa at the zoo and when the stranger standing next to me heard my camera shutter click he turned to me with this look of immense relief, put his hand to his chest, and said in a dead serious tone “oh thank christ someone caught that on film”

I'm stuck on Livewire's "we could have chickens" for some reason. Yeah they're acting a bit but. Livewire likes chickens?
I want her and Superman to be fighting and chickens appear from I don't know, someone's overturned truck, and they both immediately stop to get the birds and spend the next half hour talking about chickens.
Livewire isn't Siobhan she cannot be dissuade by "give me the tech" but apparently Supermans a farm now and they WILL talk practicalities of farm life.

These days, lots of public libraries have a "library of things" collection where you can check out kitchen appliances or yard tools or toys, and, as a children's library assistant, the most popular library of things item that I handle regularly is a plastic scepter thingy called like "unicorn princess magic wand". And whenever I check it out I make a big show of looking at the little kid and being like "do you solemnly swear to use your unicorn princess magic powers only for good and never for evil?"
And pretty much without fail, the little kid will get the world's most mischievous grin and go "I'm gonna use it for EVIL!!!"
everyone keeps talking about how maws lex luthor is going to go bald and how they want him to lose his hair in some kind of kryptonite related accident or something like that, but i just want him to have a mental breakdown and shave his head
