E3events ‘Personal Branding & Content Strategy’
My E3events experience by Karim. Hi my name is Karim, co-founder of Superhuman. My first experience with #e3events was when I joined the live open office hour together with my business partner Andries. We registered for the hangout and all of our questions were extensively answered by Sun van Denbrande. Sun had clear answers and advice for us and our business. We immediately noticed that being able to learn from someone like Sun, who has a lot of business experience, was one effective way to accelerate the development of us on a personal and professional level. That is why we decided to attend the ‘personal branding & content matters’ event on the 18th of July in 2015 in Amsterdam, that was hosted by Myra Colis and Sun. I once had a workshop about personal branding and I even got a certificate of it. But my knowledge was not up to date so I was looking forward to learn a lot about personal branding at the event, as well as meeting new like-minded people. Same goes for content strategy. I did a lot of self-study on content marketing and strategies but I never actually implemented these strategies because I didn’t know what strategy would support my business best. Five steps to build your personal brand The first speaker at the event was Greet Bunnens. She looked very professional and had a good way of presenting herself. She made me aware why personal branding is so important. If I want to separate myself from my competition and dominate my market, then I need to build a strong personal brand so that people will buy from me because they trust me and like me who I am as a person. Being authentic was a very important key aspect of having a great personal brand. Content strategy Timi was the second speaker and she talked about content strategy. I spoke with Timi before the event started and after a few minutes I already knew that I would learn a lot from her. Content strategy is a crucial but often overlooked component in business. She mentioned that it was important to give a lot of value to your (potential) customers in your content instead of mainly focusing on selling them your product. Also, actively engaging with your (potential) customers on social media is an effective way to become a true social business. Another thing I found interesting was that she mentioned that people are getting busier and busier in life. They get marketed to 5000 times a day and you need to make sure that your content is of the highest value that you can provide so that they will choose to do business with you and your company instead of one of those other 4999 companies. This event was a great experience and offered a lot of value. I realize more and more that these types of events help me develop myself and my business much faster. I also met a lot of cool like-minded people that I exchanged contact info with. After the event I felt I definitely increased my knowledge about personal branding and content strategy. Not only did I have a much clearer vision about how I needed to brand myself, my company and why I should use a good content strategy for my business, I also got a handout from Greet and Timi so that we could implement what we learned straight into my business! Thank you Myra, Sun & #e3events !
