There's a lot of rhetoric around kindness, acts of kindness and validity of performative kindness.
None of them (that I've read) have discussed how important it is to model kindness to those who are still growing. None of them talk of the nuances of how kind acts can't always be hidden for ones own sense of satisfaction. None of them approach the point that perhaps as performance is a deflection from other acts and that accountability for the opposition of kindness, and lack thereof, is perhaps more endemic to people enacting their own admissions of hidden guilt, than anything else or other.
Nothing is ever black and white. And I say this as an autistic person who makes and effort to distinguish the greys in the spectrum of human nature. Its hard man, and it gets you hurt. It is necessary though.
Sorry I had to say something, I saw ur post of the wall art in Camden. Somtimes Tumblr ppl feel so far away all around the world, so it's pretty cool that ur posting about stuff that's so local to me. I see that particular art piece all the time and I was shook to see it on Tumblr haha. Hope u have a blessed day 🧚🏽♀️🔮🌌
Ah, not Camden, but South Coast in the UK. The artist must be travelling about.
Have a good one yourself 🌌

I kinda feel like this could also be some sort of anti-burnout mechanism. I've had a tough week, I'm kinda drained; physically, emotionally and mentally. I need to rest, but real life just won't give me time for that. So just pushing through real life and then sinking into a goo-like state during opportunities for downtime just happens... until urgency pushes on the nest task. I've had some really interesting invites, but they are far enough in the future that mustering up enthusiastic responses feels like too much energy, even though they are things I most definitely want to do.
I wonder how anhedonia is related to introception and alexithymia in autism, ADHD and AuDHD?
9 memes about my mentalnesses
Tales from a slightly geeky household; buying tamagotchis, naming them Spock and Tuvok.
Mine is already dead.
Separating the dick from the dickhead? Emotional circumcision could be for you.
Memes show how art imitates life, and also allow us to be explicit in our interpretations of how, in an easily accessible form. Here for that.
This this this.
It's taken me until my late fourties to be comfortable wearing sunglasses indoors, because as said in this little vid, florescent lights are just bloody awful. And especially since supermarkets have decided that many back lit, bright screens along the aisles is a thing.
The thing is, the reduction in headaches is a real, noticeable positive outcome from wearing sunglasses indoors. A reduction in pain is just a better thing, as a parent, as a person who is able to work, as a friend, as a person. Just being a person.
for those who can. i agree with this 100%. even if you just grow a couple of things for yourself. a tomato plant. a basil plant. start with something easy.
by doing this you are slightly lessening your dependency on corporate supply chains, learning an important human skill that has been largely lost in wealthy nations, and getting the pleasure and health benefits of eating ACTUAL fresh organic food.
if you have a little bit of space—even just a little bit of balcony space cuz you can grow these things in pots!—i really do suggest growing a few plants. they're not expensive. especially if you grow them from seed (although that's a bit trickier for beginners.) many plants aren't hard to grow (depending on what you're growing, the climate you live in, and the environment you have/make for your plants.)
but ya, grow some fucking food! and share with your family, friends, neighbours! and while you're at it, grow some flowers too. especially stuff pollinators like. plants are living works of art. i can't recommend them enough.
Barely 3 days of groceries from Aldi; cat food, protein, a small amount of fruit and veg cos freezer and a growing stuff, and bread cos I've failed to make any this week. Nothing particularly bougie, but granted, the cats are fussy little fucks and as autistic with their food as we are ours. So, they get the cat mousses which are 4p more expensive than the cat patés.
Thirty quid. THIRTY FUCKING QUID. For less than 3 days of food.
Which is why I just spent an ungodly amount on an ice cream machine, clearly.
i hope conversation pits will have a comeback
I can already feel the awkwardness of trying to exit with decorum (not flashing my undies) and grace (not breaking something) and poise (not falling over).
Can I have a conversation pit with some sort of hoist? Or have we forgotten how inaccessible the 70s were already?
