Little Octy kept very still as the large tentacle came near him. He was very scared, but soon calmed when it rested under him. He clicked softly and nuzzled it gently.

You have sons, Miss Kraken? I don’t have any brothers. It’s just me and mother in the tide pool. But Daddy and Big Daddy live in the ocean!

I have many sons.  They live in deep water where the sun does not shine.  I visited a tidal pool when I was but a child, much like you.  The Kraken mumbled happily, remembering the warm water and the friend she'd made there.  You are a good little octopus to bring such memories back to me.

Little Octy stared at The Kraken, making little clicks of fear. He’s never seen anything as big as her in his entire life! He was very close to inking out of fear of her. But Tentacle Man said she wouldn’t hurt him, so Little Octy carefully swam over to one of her giant eyes so that she could see him.

H-Hello friend!

You...are so small.  said the giant squid.  One of her large tentacles came up slowly from behind him and up under him to support him so she could better look at his pink head and tiny body.  She made happy rumble of a sound.

You remind me much of my sons. she said.

There are always those that be dyin’ at sea, and my work is never done. The sea herself is as loving a mistress as I ever knew in life.

“I am glad I can keep you entertained with my own entertainment,” he rumbles, a chatter underlying his words. “In fact, if you need more to do, there are a few I was considering watching as they sadly were swept to a tragic end at sea…”

His head swivels almost spasmodically, and a wicked smile comes onto his face.  "That would be MOST agreeable, Master Osse.  I do not mind being in your debt in the matter.  The Dutchman is, as ever, at your service."  His tentacles swayed and curled excitedly.
