One of his primary goals was to break down what he considered to be lazy, habitual modes of seeing and conventional ways of using the camera. For Sid Grossman, the final image and its effect were not all that mattered. Photography was an act of transformation and revelation that demanded emotional involvement. If every picture is something that concerns you very directly and intimately and very passionately-if you are not ashamed of what-then the result will be a revelation to you.
